Versatile Falcons superstar Cordarrelle Patterson will not play Sunday against the Bucs in Tampa in the battle for first place of the NFC South. He’s headed to the injured reserve list with a knee injury after a medical procedure today, per Falcons beat writer and Joe’s pal D. Orlando Ledbetter.
The mighty Falcons’ rushing attack has averaged 168 yards per game and Patterson has been a huge part of that with 58 carries for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns.
What a huge blow to the NFL’s eighth-ranked scoring offense.
Patterson had 78 yards rushing on 13 carries against the Bucs last December.

So much negativity lately… everyone calm down. Plenty of time to get healthy and improve. Just have get to the playoffs. We lost to 2 very good teams while we aren’t at 100 percent. We will be fine!

Bucs are fortunate that the Saints and the Panthers are abysmal and so their season is circling the drain so soon…
The Falcons offense has scored well all 4 of their games.. their defense is absent..
If they get their defense figured out, they may be a surprise team this season…
On the off chance they beat an injured Bucs team, the Falcons will be in the lead in the division 1 game up on the Bucs…
All that said, should be an interesting game!

The defense really sucked. Honestly. Vea was soft. Devin and David missed lots of tackles. Poor coverage. Bad, bad game.

The defense had to account for Mahomes, that will not be the case with the Falcons.

The loss of Patterson is huge for the Falcons. This drops their chances of winning against the Bucs from around 40% down to about 10%.
