This one is a little ironic considering the Packers’ defense is led by coordinator Joe Barry and his no-blitz, Tampa-2 style defense.
And Joe is not exaggerating. Stressed Packers fans will tell you Barry hasn’t called a blitz yet this season.
So is Barry’s talented defense good enough to beat the depleted Bucs offense at The Licht House tomorrow? No, says Father Dungy, the Hall of Fame head coach and a co-architect of the Tampa-2 scheme.
Dungy took to Twitter yesterday to declare tomorrow’s Buccaneers-Packers game a low-scoring affair featuring running teams protecting their legendary quarterbacks. Dungy concluded by typing, “I’m taking the Bucs D in this one.”
Do the Packers really expect to stop Tom Brady from dinking-and-dunking and moving the chains down the field? Maybe.
Brady has been hurting for tight end help and a spark out of the backfield on passing downs. Plus, he might be down Julio Jones, in addition to already-ruled-out Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
Still, Dungy showed his Sage wisdom. Betting against the suffocating Bucs defense makes little sense. Not only are they more talented and productive than the Packers’ defense, they’re better coached.

I am not surprised. If this Defense fully matures, it will be very similar to the Tampa Two Defense that put Dungy into the HOF as a coach. Tomorrow will tell. Go Mighty Bucs D and ST!!

Offense comes alive and puts up 4 TD’s
Then all we here next week is how Brady figured it out
and the Bucs are not to be played with.

Shut up Beeej, all we have is two games but the defense has played great against 2 offenses that put up a lot of points when they didn’t play the Bucs.

This is will be a good test for our defense. Can’t lie the 1st to games they played lights out. Just need em to be consistent.

Uh oh. Baktiari is expected to start. That might not be good. Even after missing a full season, he is definitely better than their back ups, having been maybe the best LT in the game before the injury.

Dungy knows a bit more about defense than us keyboard jockeys peppering the comment section. D has played well, albeit through 2. Long season and just imagine if the offense can stop being “hamstrung” – See what I did there?

The starting tackle that last time he played Tampa got beat by Barrett who will be shaking off rust come on now lol.
I wouldn’t have his first game be against this DL but…hey I like the match up with rusty guy.

I’m hoping you are right, Anon, and that he will be rusty. I predict JTS gets his first sack, maybe two. Aaron trys to get a bit too cute in the pocket and will likely underestimate the speed of our pass rushers. Shaq also will get 1. And one more from Mr White.

When you have Sapp and Rice, you don’t need to blitz.
But the Bucs did blitz. It’s what Ronde has more sacks at corner than anyone else.
