Derrick Brooks: I’m Picking The Cowboys

Talk about a punch to your Bucs-loving gut.
Buccaneers legend Derrick Brooks believes the Cowboys will beat our beloved Buccaneers tonight, so he explained on TAMPA TWO, seen here on your favorite website.
“I’m picking the Cowboys. You look at last year and how things went in that game and really, did the Bucs [escape] more so than Dallas — that game could have gone either way. Dallas doesn’t fear this team,” Brooks began. “At home. Everything that’s coming, the expectations and the team they are now, I expect the Cowboys to win. … I don’t think this game is going to have an impact on how the Bucs finish by no means; because you don’t win or lose a Super Bowl in Week 1. But I just think Dallas gets off to a 1-o start because I think right now, going into this game, the confidence in their defense versus the many questions on our offense, I’m leaning advantage Dallas.”

Joe agrees with Brooks that Dallas has no fear of the Bucs and won’t be intimidated or nervous. But Joe doesn’t believe the Cowboys have the talent to go toe-to-toe with the Bucs all game without the benefit of forcing multiple turnovers. And who can predict turnovers?

1-12 all-time in Dallas.
Not worried, even if we lose, last time the lost on the road to open the season they won the SB.
Hell, even the 2002 all-time Bucs lost the opener before winning the SB.

@Rod Brady is 6-0 against the Cowboys. He also had a winning record against the Saints before he joined us. I’m not expecting much from us. Our OL scares me. Dallas will be able to get pressure with 4 and play coverage. That has frustrated Brady in his career. That’s ONLY if the team has the talent to do it. The Cowboys do

Wow! Really brooks? Bucs aren’t afraid of them either or playing in Dallas. Handle parsons no body else really scares you. Really believe Dallas don’t have the firepower to keep up if we’re rolling

Bucsfan13 – I actually do think the Bucs win a very sloppy and ugly game, but I can certainly see us losing it as well and can completely understand people picking a home team in what might be a ugly game.
BUT, history is what is is. While I felt absolutely 100% certain the Bucs would lose @Chicago in 2020 (history told us that would happen), I’m not 100% on this one. Also history shows that the last time the Bucs opened on the road in Dallas, that’s the 1 in 1-12.
Hopefully the Bucs win by 30 and Brady has over 500 yards passing on his way to the first ever 6000-yard season.

The biggest thing I’m concerned about is playing them at night. Historically Bucs have been terrible at night (3-9 for 8 PM games during the 2015-2020 years).
But then last year something happened … we had 5 night games and won 4 of them (our only loss was to New Orleans at home). So since 2015 the Bucs are 7-10 for the late games, BUT … we’re on a roll.

You cant lose Antonio Brown, Gronk, Ali Marpet, Alex Cappa, Ryan Jensen, and Jordan Whitehead- replace them with lesser, inexperienced players, and expect to be as good as last year.
Not to mention we lost Arians(great Coach), and got Bowles(bad Coach)
No way we are as good as last year.

I get it and he wants to be objective but the Bucs weapons are better. The defense should be better at every level. The question is left guard.
