Todd Bowles Gives Logan Ryan A Major Shoutout
August 4th, 2022To be blunt, Joe expected this.
Still it warms Joe’s heart to have read and heard Bucs coach Todd Bowles say this.
Joe is convinced one reason the Bucs signed Logan Ryan in the offseason wasn’t so much for depth, though that was a key, but the Bucs wanted Ryan because he is such an intelligent guy and a great locker room dude.
And from what Bowles said about Ryan yesterday, the Bucs hit a bull’s-eye. Bowles was asked what players has impressed him the most. One was Jaelon Darden. The other was Ryan and Bowles just raved, similar to how he did when the head coach appeared on the Ira Kaufman Podcast.
“Logan Ryan’s come in and been a joy to work with,” Bowles said. “His work ethic and his intelligence and the way he prepares for practice is unbelievable.
“[He’s] going out there and trying to learn something every day and doing the right things, as well as helping the other guys.”
Everything Joe has read about Ryan suggests he is a jewel on any roster and Bowles pretty much backed up that up..
Joe spoke with Jamel Dean yesterday and Dean he told Joe the Bucs’ defensive goal is 30 picks. Last year they had 17, so that would be damn near double, an extraordinary improvement.
Dean told Joe the key to picks is being in the proper position to take advantage of an errant throw. With Ryan’s savvy and experience, having him on the roster ought to enable the Bucs to increase their interception totals just on his advice alone.
Yeah, 30 picks? If the Bucs pull that off the team they, should be in fantastic shape come January.

Hey Joe, your title reads “Logan Hall”, not Logan Ryan. I thought it was weird seeing the db and not the dlman… Its late tho. Thanks, Leopold.–Joe

For the second year in a row Dean is blowing hot air. Dean is no Traevon Diggs, Zaire Alexander, or Jalen Ramsey. I’m still not sold on him. He play passive n has slow reaction time. I’ve said it before, whenever he does make a big play, he seems surprised as if he didn’t believe he made the play. He lacks confidence but with his speed n size, he should be a top corner. After going into his fourth year, still seems confused when lined up in particular coverage.

@dmatt
Exactly.
Dean plays so soft and scared.
If he had the heart and passion of Carlton Davis, he would be a top 5 CB for sure.
But he looks like a mamas boy. He looks soft. He plays soft.

Logan Ryan reminds me of Ronde…..
But, the other standout….Jaelon Darden……and with Tyler Johnson being mentioned before…..things don’t look goof for Grayson…..or even Scotty.
Our WR cuts will be painful…..but, I guess that’s a good thing….cutting good players because they can’t measure up to the ones we keep.’

If LR lives up to these expectations, I will be screaming a whole lot more on Sundays!! GO BUCS!!

Logan Ryan is a fantastic motivator & leader! I’ve followed most of his #NFL career. Logan not only has great instincts but also has an incredibly high football IQ. This was missing in the secondary last Season, especially cuz of all the injuries. I’m stoked he’s a Buccaneer!! #LetsGetThoseINTs #GoBucs🏴☠️

You get a lot of INTs because you’re able to pressure the QB. So while these guys got to do a better job of catching those INTs, if the Bucs can get more pressure, the DB’s will get more INTs.

Joe! What did Bowles say about Darden?
August 4th, 2022 at 3:30 pm
Logan Ryan, Schiano man.

They’re really talking Darden up. And I hope they’re right, I hope he kicks ass because he is very explosive but…
I think they could be hyping him up to ease the blow of possibly trading Miller or Perriman
OR
They are hyping him up for his own benefit when he gets relegated to the practice squad
