What Makes Ryan Jensen A Pro Bowler
July 14th, 2022Yeah, we all know Ryan Jensen is a damn good center. He’s blossomed in Tampa from above average to Pro Bowler.
A lot of folks believe Jensen is a top-shelf center because of his nasty attitude, durability, a blue-collar mentality and his play-past-the-whistle meanness.
Those things are all nice but if that is all it takes to be a good center, Bucs AC/DC-loving general Jason Licht could save millions by pulling a gnarly construction worker out of a bar on a Friday night.
Brandon Thorn has developed into one of the few NFL analysts specializing in offensive line play. Below he has a video that shows how good Jensen is recognizing a need for help and his ability to quickly move laterally to take out a pass rusher.
That talent and quickness shown below is a nice security blanket when it comes to keeping Tom Brady’s jersey clean.
People know that Jensen is a tone-setting presence, but many don't recognize how much of a force multiplier he is in pass-protection with plays like this. pic.twitter.com/hRpX4GktvT

Jensen has shown to have excellent lateral quickness in addition to physical strength.
Plus, he is very durable
His meanness and physicality sets the tone for our Offensive Line.

Seems I remember when we signed FA Ryan… some fans were screaming… how could we pay this guy so much? He is better than what we have, but what the heck? I guess he has proven to be worth every bit of that big FA contract.

I realize it’s early but where is my Groni-a-day? I’m starting to have withdrawals.

Jensen’s got juice! He isn’t going to have his worst game of the year in the playoffs against the Rams like some people we know

I was so excited when we signed him. Glad he’s still here, hope he retires a Buc.
