Keep Sleeping On Leonard Fournette
July 15th, 2022Bucs fans are not repeatedly slapping the snooze bar (or snooze button on your phone) for 20 minutes each morning. Bucs fans know how much of a player Playoff Lenny is.
But Adam Rank of NFL.com seems to think the rest of the nation is sleeping on Playoff Lenny. And as the old saying goes, “You snooze, you lose.”
People shouldn’t overthink: Leonard Fournette’s weight. All right, you guys; that’s enough of that. Maybe an unflattering photo or two of the running back has emerged, but that’s all right. I’m not about to doubt my guy Lenny at all. Dude pushed Ronald Jones out the door, inking a three-year deal in March while Jones moved on to the Chiefs. Fournette also flashed his pass-catching ability last season (69 receptions), like he was Larry Centers or something. I’m a huge fan of what he’s been able to do for the Buccaneers over the past two years. On second thought, keep overthinking those Fournette pics. Then you will all sleep on him again in your fantasy drafts, and I can scoop him up, laughing the entire way.
The Bucs offense is different with Playoff Lenny on the field. He can catch and, oh boy, can he run. Dude is dangerous to house the ball from anywhere inside the 50.
The way Joe thinks of it, who was the last Bucs player to have this sort of impact after being pulled off the scrap heap in September? Maybe Michael Bennett, but that was in October and it took a couple of years.

Leonard Fournette has carried an extra 15-20lbs each year prior to training camp. He loses most of it by the end of camp. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to him.

The ONLY answer is 2010 Legarrette Blount.

Fournette is fat?

If you stay in shape , you don’t have to get in shape simple… Fournette got paid & came to OTA’s at 152lbs… unacceptable, im not worried because rachaad white is lurking & a better athlete
GoBucs!

They don’t call him Lombardi Lenny for nothing. He can make you miss or he can run you over. You choose

Buc92, you must be new because Fournette has never been 152lbs (well maybe when he was 16) and he’s always performed well regardless of his weight. White isn’t taking any reps from Lenny unless he’s injured.

Professional bodybuilders are among the largest ripped dudes in the world.
They do not stay ripped because having bodyfat that low is not that healthy.
They “cycle” their training schedules and some even lose definition in the off season. But they are “professionals” for a reason and they know how to get back into contest shape.
Lombardi Lenny will be the same. Taking some time off and gaining some weight can actually be beneficial. It gave him time to HEAL! And trust me…all players but especially RB’s need to HEAL. I think he comes to camp in shape and will have a career year.
