Hall Of Fame Is On Mike Evans’ Mind
July 5th, 2022You do it; Joe does it. We all do it.
When we think of Mike Evans, the Bucs’ stud receiver, we all think he’s on a path to the Hall of Fame.
Guess who else is thinking Hall of Fame? That would be Evans himself.
Evans recently did a sitdown with Ari Alexander of KPRC in Houston and both guys talked numbers. Specifically, Evans’ numbers.
Alexander put Evans on the spot: He asked Evans for his career stats. Evans didn’t know his exact numbers but he was damn close. Then Alexander asked if he thinks about the Hall of Fame. Evans’ answer was short and direct.
“Of course.”
Evans quickly admitted the Hall of Fame is not his singular focus or even his immediate goal. “I try to live in the moment,” Evans explained, saying he is more worried about getting ready for this season.
But Bucs fans, when you talk to your friends about Evans possibly making it to Canton someday, so too is Evans.

Mike needs a minimum of 5 more years averaging 70-1000-7
That puts him right at the top 10 in yards all time. Problem is that’s right beside Reggie Wayne who isn’t in the Hall. That Wayne hasn’t been enshrined is curious as he’s been retired since 2014. He’s been passed several times.
The key for Evans is too average all three stats at the pace above for five seasons. That would place him in the top 20 in receptions and top 10 in yards and touchdowns. If he reaches that, he may be a 2nd time on the ballot inductee. That’s 956 receptions, 14,301 yards and 110 touchdowns.

Another super bowl should do it.

There’s going to be a logjam at receiver, but if keeps this up he will be in the Hall.
It’s Brooks, Sapp, then Evans for me.

Yep! Brady is gonna reward him with a historic year!

ME13, Hall of Fame? Nice ring to it.

Putting my money on it.

I was thinking about Brady and the HOF the other day. If he can put up similar numbers in 2022 as last year that would put him close to 90,000 yards and over 650 TDs. If he can cut down on the interceptions and get one more ring I think he has a shot at the HOF.

He’s going. Book it.

Needs another 3-4 years of great production to make it.
Resume as it is now won’t make it especially if Ira is the one presenting him. He’s only been top 10 in receiving yards 3 times in 8 years. Hall of Fame is for dominant players not guys who need their final game of the year to be force fed to reach a 1k receiving yards season.
Love Mike, and glad he’s a Buc but let’s not have tunnel vision when analyzing him against all the other great receivers in the league

Consistent stats regardless of the signal caller, pro bowls, a championship, and he is one of the top 5 all time greatest Bucs. Definitely in the HOF.

mike is my favorite buc of all time!! He went through the dropsies and complaining about penalties when he was young and turned in to a mount rushmore buccaneer!!! Guy is a class act on and off the field, proud he is a buc!

“I have my Evans jersey” he is one of my all time favorite BUCS. He has a good shot at making it to the hall and if not he has his ring. Nobody can dispute that or take it away. Ever

Too many ahead of him
that 1000 yd streak is overrated in today’s passing NFL
Stop using that smdh

Oh…after Brady leaves who is going to throw him the ball?
We’ll be in some cap hell soon enough.
We’ve been kicking the can down the road for a while

T Rex,
When has it ever mattered who was throwing Evans the ball?
Ever.
I’ll wait.
