Bucs Have A Good Postseason Winning Percentage
July 2nd, 2022Bucs fans might be able to win bar bets with this info.
Over at CBS Sports the guys who run the football news side built a list of teams with the most success in the past quarter of a century.
Would you believe the Bucs have the fifth-best postseason winning percentage at .588? It is true!
While the Bucs were very close to being total garbage in the Lost Decade, the two Bucs coaches that last led the team to the postseason had winning records in the playoffs.
In Chucky’s first season, the Bucs were 3-0 in the postseason. He finished his Bucs days with a 3-2 playoff record.
Like Chucky, former Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians led Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl title by running the table in 2020 winning all four postseason games.
Arians finished his Bucs days with a 5-1 playoff record.
So even though it seems like forever that the Bucs won a playoff game before Tom Brady came to town, the Bucs have done alright for themselves in the playoffs — when they got there.

So, are you telling me that, if Bowles get to the playoffs, the chances that we bring the Lombard to the next boat parade are huge?
Is it September yet?
Go Bucs!!

It seems like Dungy could get us to the playoffs but couldn’t win there……I remember the Eagles beating us a couple of times….
At least the two times we got to the SB…..we won it…..unlike Carolina Atl, Buff & others.

@TBBF
Dungy era also had the robbery that was the 1999 NFC Championship and the “Bert Emanuel rule” apology. First time swearing in front of my parents as a kid lol

….and Brady more than doubles all other QB’s in playoff history with 35 wins.

I’m quite nervous about the tight end room and D-line, specifically D-end. If Gronk doesn’t come back we could be in trouble offensively until Godwin can play. I hope Licht also addresses D end before the start of training camp. We could use some insurance there.

I’m not sure we can brag too much about the Buccaneers’ postseason win percentage; teams can’t lose playoff games if they’re not even competing (and during the Lost Decade, the Bucs’ season ended by November).

Wait a minute. BA lead them to a 4-0 record? You mean Brady

Brady has a GREAT playoff record, BA went 7-9 in 2019. He determines this team’s future not BA, Bowles etc and he’s done it with less.

I believe the BUCS have a 12-7 record all time in the playoffs
