“I Picture Them Being Around A .500 Ballclub”

May 17th, 2022

Don’t eat those W’s yet, Jameis.

Joe understands slimy Saints hate ramped up a few notches Friday when it was learned that the slimy Saints signed five-time Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry.

How do these mother$%^&*#s dodge the salary cap year after year like this?

If the slimy Saints re-sign currently unemployed Drew Brees, Joel Glazer should be on NFL warden Roger Goodell’s cell phone screaming for the NFL accountants to get off their dead arses and start auditing the Saints’ books.

Former Ivy League star and NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker (he and NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt were teammates at Princeton), hosts the best pure football weekday podcast, “The Ross Tucker Football Podcast.” He hopped on “The Rich Eisen Show” yesterday, and there Eisen asked Tucker if he thinks all the slimy Saints moves (signing Honey Badger, signing Landry, drafting Chris Olave) will knock the Bucs off the top of the NFC South mountain?

Tucker didn’t think so. He wasn’t sure Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, will be back from rehabbing his knee in time to start the season. And Tucker does not like the idea of a rookie left tackle leading a team to a division crown.

And, um, yeah, there’s Tom Brady still in Tampa Bay, Tucker said.

“I picture them being around a .500 ballclub,” Tucker said of the Saints.

You can hear Tucker discuss the Bucs and the slimy Saints below. And while Joe is looking over his shoulder worried about the slimy Saints, Joe thinks Tucker makes a helluva good point. Will Jameis be ready to start Week 1 for the slimy Saints, or even Week 2 when the Bucs travel to the Big Easy?

  1. PassingThru Says:

Speaking of the Ivy League, the Bucs signed J.J. Howland who played TE for the Elis (Yale) last season. At the very least, Howland could probably raise Brate’s IQ a few points.

  2. Chris Tucker@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I disagree, I think the Saints will be challenging us for the NFC South title, especially if Drew Brees returns to them.

  3. Its a Bucs Life Says:

Aints defense always plays us like it’s their Super Bowl yet people seem to forget they got shredded by the Giants and Eagles last year.

They were also humiliated by Buffalo and Dallas.

Now they play the entire AFC North, NFC West, the Raiders, Vikings and Eagles. Their schedule is very challenging. With a turnover prone QB coming off an ACL tear and a Head Coach with a whopping 8 career wins, good luck, well not really,

  4. Its a Bucs Life Says:

Brees would be a welcome sight to return as he can’t throw it farther than 10 yards.

  5. Iron-Wombat Says:

It’s a depleted team. They’ve had a massive downgrade in coaching. Diet Tebow to start the first month or 2 of the season won’t work out. Yeah they signed honey badger but no other team wanted him, he’s a big name at the end of his career.

  6. SB~LV Says:

Godwin’s knee was a dirty payback hit

  7. Bird Says:

Saints are loaded with talent and extremely physical

I would love to see them struggle but dont think that will happen

  8. Goatfarmer Says:

Seriously, why doesn’t the league ownership collectively engage a panel to audit teams? The Aints are proven cheaters, no doubt they are cheating on the cap. It’s obvious.

  9. geno711 Says:

We will see on the Saints receivers.

Does Landry look like a 5-time pro-bowl receiver or more like a receiver that was discarded and not signed for a long time in a market where everyone was coveting receivers?

Does Olave look like a rookie version of Justin Jefferson or more like a rookie version of Nelson Agholor?

Does Michael Thomas look like early Michael Thomas or after contract Michael Thomas?

  10. BT Says:

Bucs should stitch a patch with CG on it as they take the field against the Saints.

  11. gotbbucs Says:

I don’t ever underestimate the Saints, but I think people are putting a little too much praise on the Mathieu and Landry signings. Mathieu isn’t what he was and Landry never was a scary reciever.

  12. Buccos Says:

Why would Brees go back to playing in the NFL just because he got fired as an analyst? That isn’t a very good reason to re-enter the league. And he has definitely lost his fastball.

  13. Goatfarmer Says:

JaMiss eating his W…..give him something more foul to eat in 2022, Bucs.

  14. BT Says:

There is an interesting parallel between the NFL cap situation and international arms control. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted “inspections” of member states. It was in everyone’s interest not to be too intrusive for Country A, since the same standards could be applied to their country. The inspections ended up being glorified tea parties.

  15. Bucsfan4ever Says:

Was Godwin hurt in the aints game? I don’t remember which one.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Its a Bucs Life

You are correct…..the Saints get up for us…..and quite successfully…..we need to get up for them.

But, they can’t seem to do that for other teams…

I hope they get Brees back….he is far less effective as a passer & has lost a step.

  17. D-Rome Says:

I’m not worried about the Saints at all especially if Jay-Miss is their starter. I seemed to recall that not too long ago he had a plethora of great targets to throw to with the Bucs only to become the first QB to throw 30 picks in decades. In limited action last year he could only make 59% of his completions. Not good enough for today’s NFL and certainly not good enough for those talented receiving options in NO. There’s no question the Saints have lobbed Brees a call by now.

  18. SOEbuc Says:

0-4 Brady wants Saints blood his last year.

  19. Bucsdiehardfan Says:

Honestly we should have no faith in this team when they face the Saints. They own us sadly.

  20. Anonymous Says:

    Not in the PLAYOFFS!

  21. Biff Barker Says:

The Saints continue on with their dirty play and dirty ways.

BA and TB12’s legacy is that they still cant beat the Saints.

  22. Trey Long Says:

Dirtiest team in the league. Bountygate is still in their playbook.

  23. Bucsdiehardfan Says:

    >The Saints continue on with their dirty play and dirty ways.

Didnt our very own Devin White take out Jameis last year?

  24. DBS Says:

There is a big difference between an accident and something that is done on purpose. White did not intend to take out Jameis. The Saints have been taking out players on purpose for years.

  25. Crickett Baker Says:

Yes, Bucsfan. Godwin got hurt in the 9-0 Saints game. Idk how often Tucker has been right, but I am hoping this time he is.

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

    Garbage,

  27. SlyPirate Says:

    DON’T BE SURPRISED

The Saints have A TON of talent. If the OC is up to the task, they could make the playoffs.

  28. Aaron Says:

Like said doubt us now but it’s already looking good plus Brees could come back for lil for nothing and play for us I know I’ll be at the Monday night game

  29. Its a Bucs Life Says:

Fingers crossed noodle arm Brees comes

  30. Bucsfanman Says:

You can never say “never” with a team that has owned us for years. It is curious how they are able to sign these players, especially since they were already ‘allegedly’ in cap trouble.

On a side and personal note, that picture of Jameis makes me want to punch somebody every time. Seeing how immature and ridiculous he really is makes me wonder how we endured five years of that clown show!
Can we PLEASE end this streak of losing to the Aints?! Please!

  31. Tye Says:

I firmly believe Sean Payton had much to do with their success against the Bucs..
Dennis Allen had a decent team as 1st time HC and struggled to win with that team.

This is a QB driven league and we know far to well Winston Loses games…
    Brees is NOT coming back….
My only concern is that JW is not ready and Andy Dalton starts the season… Dalton lights it up keeping the job and The Saints actually have a strong season challenging the Bucs for the NFCS…

  32. Rod Munch Says:

If Winston is healthy, they’re going to be a pain to play.

This year, unlike last year, they actually have some NFL-level WRs, three of them in fact vs 0 last season. Winston is in his 3rd year in the offense, and last year was playing great before he was injured (same QBR as Brady in fact).

Their defense is still going to give the Bucs a hard time AND they play a MUCH easier schedule than the Bucs.

I see them as at least a 10-win team, maybe 11-wins.

  33. Thadeus Says:

The only chance the Aint’s have of getting to .500 is if Drew comes back.
