Cynthia Frelund Very Bullish On Bucs’ Season-Win Total

May 16th, 2022

NFL Network stats queen.

The Bucs have a nasty schedule, especially the first four weeks of the season. But that hasn’t thrown ice water on, as Brent Musberger likes to say, our friends in the desert.

BetMGM has the Bucs’ season-win total at 11.5. That is not the only sportsbook to have the Bucs at that figure. And NFL Network stats queen Cynthia Frelund believes the Bucs will hit that mark.

Frelund ran her computer software and it spit out the Bucs at a season win total of 11.7.

Yeah, yeah, teams don’t play 7/10ths of a game. So you round the number off to 12. Frelund believes the Bucs will have the best record in the NFC.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Wins:
11.7
NFC SOUTH CHAMPIONS
Win Total:
over 11.5 (+100)
Make Playoffs: -650
Win Division: -350
Win Conference: +350
Win Super Bowl: +800

Of the Buccaneers’ first four games (at Dallas, at New Orleans, vs. Green Bay, vs. Kansas City), only the Saints game has Tampa Bay with a win projection of more than 54 percent — and just barely at that (54.3). Since joining the Bucs, Tom Brady is 0-4 in the regular season against the Saints.

So Joe gets the hunch that Frelund thinks if the Bucs can survive an ugly first four games with a winning record, it’s easy sailing after that. This schedule is damn tough.

The NFC West is damn good, sans igit Drew Lock and the Seahawks. The AFC North is always a battle. Cleveland and Pittsburgh are the two worst teams, really?

If the Bucs win 12 games, Joe thinks that is a sensational feat.

The Schedule is what it is! We line them up and knock them down.!!! No Retreat!

if we win one less game than last year during the season with this schedule, it’s quite an accomplishment…

i still see let down games and games we sleepwalk through as:

    baltimore
    cleveland
    arizona

add in potentially a 2-2 start and one division loss and that puts us at 11-6

if we fly out the gate at 3-1, i can see 12-5

dang, already missing kay adams on gmfb 🙁

Please do not jinx us against Drew Lock. Lesser QBs have carved us up

going to be interesting to see if the Saints curse dies with Sean Payton. One can hope….

Little tidbit just found on Pro Football Rumors:

‘With Tom Brady coming out of retirement to quarterback the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay has been evaluating their backup quarterback position. According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen doesn’t see Kyle Trask competing with Blaine Gabbert for the backup job. This shouldn’t put Trask’s roster spot in jeopardy, though. Gabbert is one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league, but the plan for Trask was always for a post-Brady team. Tampa Bay is happy with Trask’s progress so far and will likely keep developing the 24-year-old for the future.’

Nothing new there (Joes had all that covered long ago), although hearing that ‘Gabbert is one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league’ was interesting.

    Butterface.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

What we don’t know about Gabbert is whether or not Brady has been a positive influence on him…..I suspect he has….after all, we give Brady credit for influencing everyone else.
Perhaps Gabbert is much better than we think.

  9. Thadeus Says:

She was nicer than me. I got the Bucs winning 10 and getting a wildcard and gone in the second round.

‘Tampa Bay is happy with Trask’s progress so far and will likely keep developing the 24-year-old for the future.’

Saints acquired Ryan Griffin back in 2013 when he was 23 years old and started developing him. Bucs acquired him in 2015 when he was 25 yrs old and continued developing him.

Fast forward to 2022. Ryan is now 32 years old, still on the Bucs’ roster, and we’re apparently still developing him. If I was Kyle Trask, I’d be wary of being identified as the ‘King in Waiting’.

    Hodad is correct.

Just call me a crude sexist …
    What a body

  13. John Sinclear Says:

Seems to me they played 7/10’s of a game against the Rams ??

  14. SPARKY Says:

I don’t think I’m crude, but evidently I’m sexist, because that is some body.

  15. MadMax Says:

1-3 to start, then we win out (maybe 1 more loss)….i dont know, thats just what im feeling.

  16. TJ Says:

There is almost NO way we win 12 games with our schedule. New coach, defensive mini overhaul. Thats okay The Saints have a BRUTAL schedule also. I think we go 10-7 and win the division. Saints 9-7 Best case. Look at these teams… Cowboy, GB, KC, Saints 2X, Rams, Bengals, Ravens, Cardinals etc.

  17. Buc 76' Says:

    NFC SOUTH CHAMPIONS, definitely!
    Win Total: over 11.5 (+100),,, ? mark
Make Playoffs: -650,,,, 100%, lock this bet in Vegas/
Win Division: -350,,,, 100%, Winston has proven he can’t win more than 9 games.
Win Conference: +350, I wouldn’t bet this prop.
Win Super Bowl: +800, wouldn’t take this bet either.
It’s time to lock in those bets.

Looks like most of you guys just don’t get it. Still thinking like the old days. Two years before Brady Bucs record was 12-20. Two years with Brady 29-10. I’m thinking 13 wins at least maybe more, don’t want to sell The Bucs short. GOBUCS!
