Jason Pierre-Paul Waving Goodbye To Bucs?

April 23rd, 2022

Ominous video.

If nothing else, free agent edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul loves, loves, loves to throw up cryptic messages on his Instagram stories account.

Joe has no earthly idea what roughly 80 percent of JPP’s Instagram stories videos are about. But often they are interesting. For example, last week while pumping gas, JPP videoed a woman unloading on some dude with another woman just watching feet away. JPP was convinced the dude got caught by his significant other fooling around with the woman watching the argument.

Today, JPP has something a little more interesting. An SUV was driving JPP to an airport (not sure which one) to drop him off JPP. He was late for a private jet. In the back of the SUV were “bags on bags,” JPP said. It looked like JPP was moving something.

As the plane lifts off, JPP is laughing hysterically (ahem) and then hollered, “We ain’t in Tampa no mo. BYE-BYE TAMPA! We out o’ dis hole. Fo’ sho.'”

It sure smells like JPP is done with the Bucs. He’s 33 and coming off not just his worst year in the NFL, but shoulder surgery. And the Bucs have very little cash available. Yeah, even after Tom Brady reworked his contract.

Joe understands this looks bad. But you know what? The last time JPP’s contract was up he was moving out of his Tampa condo and he basically said the same thing Instagram stories. Overall, it doesn’t seem like JPP is that fond of Tampa — the area, that is.

So with JPP and his history of bizarre, wacky videos (like mowing lawn in the middle of a hot day), who knows what he really meant?

Hopefully is was the “substance “ talking.
Both he and Gronk, both of whom I have the highest respect for, are way way way PAST there prime in a young cats game.
17 regular season beatings just to get to the starting point of the long brutal season.
Sadly I can move on from them both.

  2. SufferingSince76 Says:

If true, that would be unfortunate. JPP may tear it up again, but even he needs to realize he’s not what he once was. If he can get more elsewhere, good luck to him.

  3. D-Rok Says:

Mr. Licht: “We’re drafting the next Lawrence Taylor.”
    JPP: “I’ll pack my bags.”

    LOL.

Maybe JPP is just happy to take a vacay? I often say on my way out of town, “I’m outta here!”

  4. VATom Says:

SB…Gronk with ANY other QB besides Brady I agree with you. But Gronk and Brady I take over Brady and any other TE in the short term (one last season).

Sounds good but JPP doesn’t live here. He lives in like Delray Beach or Gulfstream Park area.

Yeah, JPP had a place here during the season but his permanent address is in some beach community in Palm Beach or Broward County. He flips houses down there and makes millions.

  6. Topdoggie Says:

Between Rice and JPP I’m convinced DE is a strange breed of men.

  7. firethecannons Says:

Joe being funny here! How in God’s green earth did you even figure out that is what he said. I had to play it multiple times and then I agree that is what he said but not positive. Bucs do not owe this man, last year JPP did a Baker and kept playing hurt and it did not help. A hurt JPP is not better than a rookie edge JTS. Now he has lost cred.. He aint worth more than 3 million. He will not sign for that, we must move on, we should draft another edge if possible.

  8. Cleanhouse Says:

    Did he wave goodbye?

  9. Pickgrin Says:

JPP made $12M last year – and provided about $2.5M in production on the field.

Yea – “leadership” – and of course its not his fault his shoulder got so messed up – but JPP should rightfully be amenable to giving the Bucs a BIG discount – come back and play 1 more year – “wreck sh!t” on his way to another Championship ring – and then go out on top….

  10. Buccos Says:

    ^^^^^
Yes! One more for the fans. He has made tons of cash here and played in some big games. Come back and win another championship at a discount and pave the way into the HoF.

  11. D-Rok Says:

Cool nugget that I didn’t know about his pursuits outside of football, Joe. Wouldn’t it be cool to live in a house that one could say JPP flipped?

  12. Anonymous Says:

He said “we out this ho” not hole.

  13. Biff Barker Says:

He cashed in last season. Maybe older and slightly damaged goods now.
Dont think he needed to sound like a jaggoff on his way out.

  14. tampabayallday Says:

JPP loves tampa and Florida in general.

  15. Infomeplease Says:

It ain’t over till the fat lady sings!! Or in this case… He inks a deal somewhere else!! Best wishes JPP!!

  16. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Anonymous – I heard the same thing. That’s just a figure of speech these days. I didn’t hear anything negative about Tampa.. Go Bucs

  17. Gofortheface30 Says:

D-Rok. Uh…idk, maybe. I guess? Actually no I wouldn’t care.. in any case – it takes money to make money. He’s given a ton of liquid from his day job, and he has more than enough capital to win out any bid, even against investors making all cash offers. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or Astro physicist. I am one thousand percent sure his agent or someone in the real estate industry advises him and all he has to do is pull the trigger. With this inflation and market he prob turns a profit in 6 mths to a yr. I’m big time hesitant frankly to call him some sort of savvy businessman. He is set up for guaranteed success with a financial advisor

  18. GOB Says:

Say goodbye to JPP. He basically stole money last year. The shoulder isn’t the only issue. His legs are gone. You shouldn’t have much trouble replacing a 33 year old pass rusher

  19. Anonymous Says:

He’s just on a vacation to Tulum if you look at his stories now. But he has been partying a lot and living loose. Looks like he must have broke up with the chick that had his second baby too. Who knows if he’ll come back to the Bucs, he’d have to really want to win another championship, for the vet minimum

  20. BUCman Says:

No surprise, it was clear since the end of the season that his time here was over.

  21. FairMinded Says:

Did anyone bother to watch the linked stories? Clearly was just heading on vacation. Smh. Such nonsense

  22. Mike Johnson Says:

Which brings up the question…Will the Bucs pass rush be even worse..Than last years?

  23. JimbobBucsFan Says:

He has been a great one for us! If he is healthy enough I’d love to see him back in the rotation. I believe JTS will be moving ahead of him as our starter, however. He is supposed to be an “alpha male” so let’s see if he would accept that.

No mater what happens, THANKS for all you’ve done here, Mr. Pierre-Paul. Wish you well for the future. Have a good life! 🏈 😍

  24. SPARKY Says:

We have two older d-line guys in Suh and JPP. Both are past their prime. Both are unsigned. We might have one replacement player who we can hope does the job if they both leave. Back ups are ok. And we don’t think that we need to get a d-line guy with the first pick?

  25. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

JPP played at USF in College, so maybe he is sick of Tampa.
I ran into him once at a Jamaican Restaurant, and he was friendly enough.
He was leaving with a some Jerk Chicken he ordered.
He is not the player he once was, and unless he will take less money, we have no choice but to move on.

  26. Greg Says:

Plus, JPP just sold his house in the West Palm area just a couple weeks ago. Sure looks like he’s gone for good 🙁

  27. Marine Buc Says:

I’m glad JPP got to come back to Tampa and help us win another Super Bowl. I have been a big fan of his since his USF days.

When healthy he was an awesome force on game day.

However – I believe it’s time to say goodbye… I watched and re-watched (several times) all our games from last season and I understand JPP was playing injured but he was loafing on at least 25-35% of the plays last year.

If he plays next season he should be limited to 20-30 snaps per game max.

  28. DaBux Says:

IT was nice to have prime JPP. Whoever is paying big money to him now gets a heart, but not much body left.

  29. Bird Says:

Bucs gave him the respect giants didnt after losing fingers

    End of story.

He has no other team blowing him up
Could have handled a different way but all good maybe but he is putting his hand out there ( minus a few) like take me bbbbeeeoooccnnndddog

  30. Bucfan Says:

JPP was a welcomed addition when we fleeced him from the G men. He was instrumental for us in our Super Bowl run. He won’t be coming back but thank you for all that you did for the Bucs while here.

  31. Rich S Says:

When the bucs cut down the money tree….jpp true colors came out….

  32. Alvafan Says:

JL should have put him on injured reserve early on last year. A rotator cuff injury when severe is disabilitating and he admitted it was the worst injury of his life and those that have followed his career know he’s had some serious issues that don’t have anything to do with the gridiron. If JL had shut him down JTS would be ready for 2022. Instead the Bucs have a guessing game to deal with. The sooner JPP decides to go to the rams or buffalo the better off we’ll be

  33. brooks Says:

    bye, bye!!

  34. sasquatch Says:

I don’t know whether he’s saying goodbye… but he’s not gonna make much money coming back to Tampa as a broken down shadow of himself. It’s time for the Bucs to move on. We can’t sign every single aging veteran. Decisions have to be made, and JTS is the present and future.

  35. Jim Walker Says:

After everything JPP has been through I will never doubt him. How many times have people thought his career was done?

  36. BucsBeBack (Artist formally known as: BringBucsBack) Says:

Joe, are you sure he didn’t say, “we out di ho?“

I appreciate JPP’s time here but, is it too much to ask for a little professionalism? Did the Bucs treat him that badly? Was the city where he even attended college that bad? Isn’t he 33 years old? Is it impossible for him to conduct himself as a 33 year old man? If he is leaving, can’t he just say; “thanks, it was fun!”? How does a man his age get caught up in this childish, TikTok world?

JPP, if you are leaving, please, take several thousand New Yorkers and massholes with you!

  37. Bucsfan4ever Says:

    Good luck JPP

  38. steele Says:

Let’s wave goodbye to JPP, thanks for the seasons.

Now let’s wave hello to Jerry Hughes, Akiem Hicks, Justin Houston, J. Clowney, Carlos Dunlap in free agency, Arnold Ebikete, David Ojabo, Jermaine Johnson, Logan Hall in the draft. Get two. Get three. Collect ’em all. Stockpile.

  39. Buczilla Says:

They don’t come any tougher than this dude and he’s one of my favorite Bucs ever. Tampa’s a sweet place to live, so if he’s got a problem with it, that’s on him. Adios mf!

  40. BucFanforLife Says:

JPP is just happy to be free for a bit. Probably taking a vacation or something. Hope he plays for us again this year and has a good season if he does. But if he’s gone, he’s gone.

  41. Thadeus Says:

    Take Suh with you.

  42. Bucs Win Says:

    That’s a stupid take Nadeus.

  43. RPK Says:

This coinciding with the recent Brady restructure tells me JPP team got word no Glazer loot will be coming his way.

    JTS time…

  44. Eric b Says:

He did sell his house in tampa to the stupid girl who was on dr phil the “catch me outside ” girl who for the life of me cant wrap my head around her making millions but whatever..if we can keep him for cheap lets do it but i wouldnt pay much right now for him..we still can sign more NOW!! SIGN DEEBO, HIGHTOWER, FLOWERS,

  45. Eric b Says:

Jadeveon Clowney is still available..sign him instead. LA FINDS A WAY TO PAY THESE GUYS FIND A WAY. LFGO UNFINISHED BUISSNESS

  46. RIP TB Says:

The only unfinished business is the Saints getting revenge after TB broke Winston’s leg. Saints broke the all time injury record last year. TB better hope that happens again. You aren’t winning the SB, and btw when Brady does retire, you know you are back to the same old bucks again right?

  47. Brandon Says:

Was he waving good bye or flipping us off? I couldn’t tell.

  48. Eli Says:

See ya JPP. Time to replace. As for Gronk, he is fun to have around but he needs to stop teasing in order to keep his name in the news. Make your decision and let’s move on.
