    Depends on the options:
If Bucs get Rogers.. No!… but he is to expensive..
    Wilson… No! but to expensive…
    Carr… NO!… But Raiders aren’t letting go..

Some of Those other guys floated out their, whoever wins qb comp..

Trask or Winston – TRASK… Already proven Winston can’t get it done…
Trask or Watson – TRASK… don’t need another quitter like Antonio Brown…

  2. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

Granted it was the last pick of the round, but the Bucs used a 2nd round pick on Trask. Teams that select a player that early typically view that player as someone they envision will be a starter and not just a backup. Trask certainly could flame out and end up a backup QB, as every player is is crap shoot (as the Bucs know all too well with their most recent round 1 #1 overall QB pick who played for the Saints on the cheap last two seasons). The only way we’ll find out if Kyle can be a franchise QB is if the young man is given an opportunity on the field. With that said if Licht can catch lightening in a bottle once again with someone like Rogers than he should do it. Personally I don’t see that scenario happening (big money and would require surrendering a lot of draft capital over the next couple years). The rest of the realistic QB’s are IMO proven career backups and/or just good enough starters to get a team to a close to .500 record.

  3. SOEbuc Says:

I hope. A lot of times it is much more than retaining great players, but the money is the real big problem.

  4. August 1976 Buc Says:

Trask can wait one more year at least.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  5. Craig Says:

The Bucs need just about every cent they have to field a whole team, that is without possibly wasted money, and draft picks, on a QB.

Trask took a half of a team to the Sugar Bowl, and almost beat Bama. He should be able to win the division against inferior teams. That will happen only if the Bucs put the rest of the team first, to upgrade an aged defense and provide depth at O-line.

It was that lack of O-line depth that was our doom this season. The only person we had to replace an injury was someone with a lesser injury.

  6. #1bucsfan Says:

I do want trask to start but we need a back up plan or bring in a Russ Wilson or Rodgers for another year and let trask sit if he’s not ready. Give trask the opp. But everyone needs competition no one should be handed a starting spot. Everything needs to be earned. One thing I’ve heard about trask is the way he prepares for games. If that’s true and he already has that preparation mentality I bet he sitting behind Brady only made him better. Deff curious to see trask play.

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

Ok folks sing it..Losing days are here again….. sung to the tune of happy dayz….

  8. Drebucsfan Says:

Why is no one talking about L DAVID good friend teddy bridgewater? He’d fit great in locker room good teammate, leader of men and best of all doesn’t turn the ball over, Nice arm and efficient! we would definitely have to rely on great defense to win the game but hey i like TEDDY B over jimmy G/ Kyle trash any
    day

  11. Tye Says:

@Drebucsfan – has teddy ever played a full season… he is the poster boy for injury prone…. Bring him in, win a few games, gets hurt week 4 or 5 a may miss 2 games or rest of season and that would make him a very bad investment…

  12. Oxycodoms Says:

Trask wasnt even the backup. People are projecting a big leap in trask development in offseason. Bucs need to prepare as if it wont

  13. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I have no idea what Trask will bring to the table, but it’s time to find out if he has the “it” factor or the “s*it” factor.

  14. Mike C Says:

Swampbuc…… easy, glass houses and stones or something like that.

  15. crazybucs_CL Says:

funny, the poll show even among Bucs fans, Bucs come second..😂😂
FU vs FSU, that is what come first……
we heard this song with JW, how great he was/is, “America’s QB”… and stuff.
Trask is going to be fine, decent QB and maybe more…. he got to start someday for us to know what he can do….why not this year?? Like we have anything better!!!
    I voted YES

  16. New England Patriots Fan Says:

The league is so wide open now for Tampa with a Jimmy G/Teddy/Cousins in a NFC without Rodgers, Brees or Brady. Tampa is guaranteed a NFC south title, unless Carolina or Saints can get Wilson/Watson/Rodgers. The QB quality is the NFC is so low Stafford and Dak are looked at like top 5 QBs now. The league is wide open now, any franchise can win with Brady, Ben, Brees, Luck and the Mannings all retired. Even Trask could win a NFC south maybe at this point.

  17. Colin in Canada Says:

Trask is good and he can make all the throws. Go back and look at his highlights from 2020. He’s a legit talent. Need to see what he can do with the Bucs 1’s on offence.

  18. Mike C Says:

Pat site is the other way bro

  19. Rod Munch Says:

    LOL!

The only reason you want Trask to be the starter is if you’re wanting the Bucs to tank to get the top pick. If you actually think Trask is going to be a good starter at this point, and the Bucs will win with him, you’re literally an idiot. He was the #4 QB on the team his last offseason, yes, he was behind Griffin, who they kept on the practice squad. If they had any faith in him, they would have used that Griffin spot on someone else.

There is a chance, that down the road, Trask is OK – but that time isn’t now. The guy has to learn how to first throw an NFL pass, and we saw in the preseason, when he tried throwing with velocity, what happened to his accuracy. He has to get that part down before you’d ever consider playing him, unless you’re playing for the top pick in 2023.

All you Gators fanboys need to keep a name in mind, Danny Wuerffel. That’s who Trask was in college, and Wuerffel couldn’t do anything in the NFL because those soft college throws don’t work at the NFL level. Trask has the ability to improve, so I’m not saying he’s a bust without ever seeing him, but he’s not going to be ready at this point.

    Gotta say, I 100% agree.

College is nowhere close to pro football, and Trask has done absolutely nothing to earn a starting role. Anyone who insists on starting him can only be hoping to tank for the first pick.

But they are not thinking things through. This team is full of fighters. They are not just going to tank. They will win some games, and the earliest pick they’ll get will be the middle of the first round or later.

And quite frankly…only quitters tank or want to tank.

  22. Colin in Canada Says:

Brady was the #4 QB his first year too.

  23. Anonymous Says:

Absolutely not. That means we have given up on the season . He could t even beat out Griffin last year. Nobody goes from QB4 to QB1 especially in BA’s offense. We sill go with whoever is behind door number 2

  24. Rod Munch Says:

I sound anti-Trask, but I’m not, I’m just anti-Trask right now. He didn’t look good last preseason and every single report I’ve heard about him says he just hasn’t done anything.

If he starts, which I think is incredibly unlikely, and ends up being good, then fantastic, we got a QB of the future and people can call me an idiot for not putting all my hopes into a 2nd year QB who spent his rookie year as #4 on the depth chart.

Oh, to be clear, I’ll gladly take Tanking w/ Trask over some stiff like Bridgewater. I’d rather go 3-14, clear up the cap, and be ready to compete in 2023 rather than going 7-10 kicking the cap down the road a year while having no legit chance at competing.

Brady was the #4 QB his first year too.

    ———–

Tom Tupa was the #4 QB for the Bucs in 2002.

100% of his passes were INT’s returned for a TD.

  26. Wild Bill Says:

Best chance to make playoffs next season would be to sign an experienced vet with above average skills. Trask should be given lots of playing time in pre season. Prepare him to be the number one backup. Only game time will prove his capability. as a future starter. No other qb on the roster has starter potential.

  27. Bucs Win Says:

If Trask is the starter the Bucs won’t win 5 games next season.
