I would have voted none of the above if it were an option. That jets game has me a bit spooked and we are not the same team as last years. I voted eagles since I despise them and their fans and would love to tack on another playoff win against them.
My pick would be the Gulls or 9ers. Murray scares the heck out of me with our reaction to running QBs that being said, we handled the Eagles well. I don’t want to face the Saints.
I don’t think it’s possible to play the Saints round 1. They can only get the 7th seed and need 49ers to lose. If the 49ers lose, Bucs stay at 3rd seed. If the 49ers win, Bucs move to 2nd seed and the Saints are out.
Grayson and Johnson have hooooge days, and Scotty gets snuck to break a half a hundred; if the refs don’t get in the way. they have been awful all season.
If they get the second seed they likely will get the eagles. 3rd seed and most likely the eagles as well since the saints can’t be a possible 6th seed if the 49ers lose and they win. They can only be a 7th seed. I am expecting us to beat the lousy panthers .
Everything rides on that SF vs LA game.
If the Rams win, we will play the Eagles if they beat Dallas or if the Saints win, otherwise we play San Fran. If the 49ers win, we will play the Eagles because we would be 2nd seed, New Orleans is out and San Fran will have the 6th seed. This is ALL assuming the Bucs beat Carolina and there are no ties in these games. There are a few other funky scenarios, but are unlikely.
Even though it doesn’t look like it’ll line up this way, I say the Saints. If the Bucs have a team that’s their Achilles heel, it’s the Saints. It used to be the Eagles, then we beat them and shut them up. Same needs to happen in this case with the Saints. They need to beat them, knock them out of the playoffs, because that’s what WINNERS do. Win or go home.
You remember we got some lucky bounces last playoff. Brady has turned the ball over more to this team then a lot of teams combined
With that said , we cant play saints or so im told.
49ers/rams game controls saints season
If 49ers win , saints eliminated…period…game over …doesnt matter what eagles/saints/49ers/ cards do…
If rams win in only other scenario and saints win , then rams get 2 seed and play 7 seed aints .
They can’t play the saints no matter what happens. Saints can only be the 7th seed and it would require the rams beating the 49ers. So there’s no possible way they can meet the saints.
They can’t face the niners unless the saints lose to the falcons. Something tells me the saints will be beating up the falcons forcing the 49ers to win their game. I think the bucs are gonna get that second seed.
Eagles would run all over the Bucs. Forget about the first game. The Eagles are a terrible matchup. 49ers have a sad offense. Bucs could handle them. Bucs just not good enough on Defense and the offense has taken a big step back. No SB for the Bucs this year.
Bucs and Saints can only play in the NFCCG. If the Saints make the playoffs, it’s as a 7th seed. They can only get the 7th seed if the 49ers lose to LA, which would keep LA as the 2nd seed. If they win that game, they would then play Green Bay who is has a WC bye.
Only a complete moron would say bring on the Saints.
Also, based on every single scenario I came up with, the Bucs can’t play the Saints in the first round. Maybe I missed something, but I don’t believe so.
As long as the Bucs win, by far the most likely opponent is the Eagles. I don’t share the enthusiasm I’m seeing here for playing them. The Bucs are missing 3 of 4 starting LBs and the Jets just ran all over us, and you want to face a running game? Personally I’d take the Cardinals as they’re the type of team that will choke in big moments, like they’ve down on the strech. The Eagles meanwhile are playing with house money, would have zero pressure, and would attack the Bucs biggest weak point on defense, unless David, Shaq and JPP are magically all back at the same time, which is extremely unlikely.

All of them ! GO BUCS !!!
January 4th, 2022 at 2:31 pm
I think the first Buc playoff against the Eagles they won 9-0 at the Ole Sombrero but not sure.
January 4th, 2022 at 2:33 pm
By “best” I assume you mean the best for the bucs not the most competitive matchup

The E-Gulls.
January 4th, 2022 at 2:45 pm
I was at that Eagles game, we handled them pretty easily before we got bored and that was in Philly! I’d say Eagles.
January 4th, 2022 at 2:46 pm

I like playoff Saints. They always choke and we’re undefeated against them 🙂
January 4th, 2022 at 2:47 pm
Two are easy NO.
I would have went with AZ for the BA story line but I decide the Lynch story line would be a breath of fresh air. Let get the 9ers in here.
January 4th, 2022 at 2:48 pm
Does not matter. Any and all teams in front of them on kickoff will go down. Hard.

I say 49ers Because all they can do is run the ball for the most part. As long as the Bucs step up The run defense, it should not be a problem

Most scenarios have us playing the Eagles.

Niners Jimmy G… Thumb messed up

Bird you’re correct. They can only be a 7th seed. They can’t move up to the 6th seed since the eagles have the tiebreaker against them.
January 4th, 2022 at 3:56 pm
Francisco, I believe it’s mathematically possible if ties get thrown in the mix. But other than that, no it’s very unlikely.
January 4th, 2022 at 3:57 pm
Niners would have a long way travel. If Jimmy G plays, a bonus.
January 4th, 2022 at 4:03 pm

January 4th, 2022 at 4:32 pm
My best matchup is the Saints becase I want revenge.
January 4th, 2022 at 4:39 pm
This is what i am hoping the seeding will be after the end of the season.
1 Packers
2 Bucs
3 Arizona
4 Cowboys
5 Rams
6 49ers
7 Iggles- they’re already in the playoffs.
January 4th, 2022 at 4:45 pm
Grover,
We beat the Iggles 24-17 in 1979. I was there.
We lost to the Rams 9-0 in the NFC title game.
I was there too!
January 4th, 2022 at 4:47 pm
Exactly right Bird.
We did get lucky against the Saints last year.
They are the last team I want to face.
Peyton owns us.

After the Bucs inconsistent play this year, it is a silly projection.
Basically it is win or go home!
January 4th, 2022 at 5:18 pm
Jeff if they can’t beat the lousy eagles who have feasted on weak opponents lately they should just go home. They should beat the lousy iggles.
January 4th, 2022 at 5:36 pm
I always want the Eagles. F those guys.
And because I’m not like an Eagles fan, I’m glad Jalen Hurts didnt get hurt in that bleacher fiasco.
January 4th, 2022 at 5:57 pm
Hopefully we don’t end up with the stupid Monday night slot.
January 4th, 2022 at 7:13 pm
Boy a lot of you are really scared of the saints lol
January 4th, 2022 at 8:07 pm

All of the above…
