Wagering With Ira
December 17th, 2021Follow along as JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman makes three NFL picks each week against the spread.
Point spreads courtesy of Joe’s good friends at BetMGM. You may follow various point spreads courtesy of VegasInsider.com.
UNCLE IRA
New England
at Indianapolis -2.5
New England’s winning streak ends at Indy with Jonathan Taylor wearing out a sturdy defense.
N.Y. Jets
at Miami -9.5
Miami smells an AFC wild-card berth while the Jets just smell, period.
Las Vegas -3.5
at Cleveland
JOE
Green Bay -5.5
at Baltimore
If it is not a warm-weather site or a home playoff game, Joe is going with drama queen Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Weirdly on the team bus to M&T Bank Stadium, Rodgers keeps getting pestering texts about his toes from Rex Ryan.
Houston
at Jacksonville -4.5
With the chains of Urban Meyer released, Laura Dern Trevor Lawrence finally looks like a No. 1 overall pick and lights up lousy Lovie Smith’s defense.
Atlanta
at San Francisco -9.5
The 49ers are hot and they are still in the playoff hunt. So they have something to play for. It’s a week before Christmas and the Dixie Chicks have nothing to play for but a draft pick and good health so they can go clubbing in Tulum in a month.
Last week: Ira 1-2; Joe 1-2.
Season Record: Ira 21-21; Joe 21-21.

I loved how the Jags line immediately move 2 to 2.5 points when Rural Meyer got canned. If Meyer coached this game it was lock for Houston thus I had to go back and flip a couple of my weekly pick sheets that I checked off early thanks to Khan putting Rural out of his misery in the middle of the night. Jags still a mess but they should bust up the Texans which will unfortunately hurt them a bit in the draft race to #1 with the Texans, Lions, Jets and Giants. Also like Joe taking the Pack though I do wish B’more will surprise the betters as the Ravens are a beat up team, 10-7 or 9-8 could win the AFC North. Ira is sage-wise in betting against the free-falling Jets despite the big spread, they are almost as dysfunctional as Houston or the Jags.
