Not focused on Antonio Brown.
Of course, the story across the NFL was the drama-filled accusation that Bucs furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing receiver Antonio Brown bought and used a fake V-card to get around NFL protocols for The Sickness.
Brown earlier this season tested positive for The Sickness.
And while NFL media and social media was abuzz with the Brown allegation (which involved his model girlfriend, a personal chef and a Hollywood celebrity sex tape broker), Bucco Bruce Arians had very little to say about it in his post-practice presser today.
Jenna Laine of ESPN asked Arians for his reaction to the allegation and Arians pretty much passed.
Laine asked Arians if he thought Brown used a fake V-card to get around protocols and Arians seemed confident Brown followed the NFL protocols as required.
“None whatsoever,” Arians said regarding doubts about the legitimacy of Brown’s V-card he provided the Bucs.
Then Arians basically shut down all discussion of the subject.
“We did our due diligence, the league will do theirs,” Arians said. “The statement [the Bucs released on the subject yesterday] says everything. I really don’t think it’s a story. And it has nothing to do with the Giants game.”
And that was that.
Except it is not yet that simple for NFL strongman Roger Goodell and his henchmen. Joe sure hopes Brown coughed up a real V-card and really did get the jab. Otherwise, Joe has an ugly feeling the NFL is going to make an example of Brown, especially since he is a repeat offender of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Just a reminder that the Bucs are 5-0 with Brown on the field, 1-3 without him.

Some Tampa media types ( names withheld to protect the guilty ) are praying this is true and Brown takes a fall it appears. I sure hope those guilty of this have their apologies at the ready ( including a clever column on these pages ) if Brown is indeed innocent.

Very pleased the way the Bucs are handling this so far and they pretty much got ABs back. If they didnt they probably would be announcing his release today…….Of course, they have no control on what the NFL decides to do but their stance here could give them the ability to turn a distraction into a rally for the lockerroom.

Winny Testaverde, completely agreed. The sports mainstream media, including RS at the TBT, will tell you they don’t root for teams. They root for good stories so how this could potentially effect the Bucs season is irrelevant to them.
This goes beyond writing good stories though. The TBT and the media are carrying the water for the Biden Administration so any behavior by a celebrity that is considered to be “off-script” is going to be written about with a certain bias.

I agree with one thing, Goodell had no problem throwing a 4 game suspension at Brady for deflated balls but slaps Roger’s on the wrist for lying and breaking ALL Covid league protocol. The NFL knows they suspend Roger’s and GB out of playoffs. It will be interesting how this plays out not much of a difference if AB is guilty, in reality they both lied and broke protocol. Those claiming it’s because of the color of AB’s skin are part of the reason this country is so divided, everyone and every agenda is racist. Defend the NFL!

The apparent disparate treatment of Rodgers and AB is less about skin color than jersey color. The Packers are league favorites, the Bucs are not. Simple as that.

Hey Marine Buc eat well, go macrobiotic if you have to. Exercise daily and get the vaccine to protect others. I did it hesitantly. I’m 61 and never had a flu shot or antiobiotic. Hell I’ve never had the flu. I’ve been juicing since the 80s, I eat whole, organic foods, I jump rope for 45-60 minutes daily, do 120 pushups and got vaccinated. The reason I did it was to protect others. Do it for your country bro.

It’s sad that public healthcare was ever made partisan. But it clearly has.
And so in a simple effort to offset misinformation that seems to pop up whenever a vax thread or covid thread pops up.

As a Microbiologist trained in virology, the question I keep asking (repeatedly) is why don’t they simply test AB’s antibodies? If he’s actually been vaxxed, his antibody testing (IgG and IgM) will show his status and is easily and quickly “proven.” Seems like a non-issue to me.

D-Rock…glad you responded. I think AB did have Covid as well, so my question is, would the vaccine elicit different antibodies than the actual virus, and would the difference be recognizable in testing? And if it would be different, and testing would give a definitive answer, wouldn’t it still require consent on the part of AB to actually do that testing?

Simply put, no, the vaccine should not elicit different antibodies. The overall numbers of antibodies should be higher after active infection than from the vax. I’ve not read any studies (yet) showing a way to definitively prove where the antibodies came from. I’m aware that upon PCR testing, in acquired infection, the primer cycle threshold (Cf) should be much higher than vaccine-mediated viral loads. Hope this answers your question.

PS: Yes, informed consent is always required for any medical tests. AB would have to consent to this testing.
