“That’s A Bad, Bad, Bad Loss”

November 2nd, 2021

Names names.

Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians was understandably irate after Sunday’s loss. So was Joe equally beside himself.

And no, it’s not going to be alright.

Why? Joe thinks the Bucs very well may have urinated away their shot at a homefield playoff advantage with that loss. Now they are two games behind the Rams and a game behind the Packers, Cardinals and Cowboys.

The Bucs have to leapfrog four teams in nine games to get homefield advantage. Not an easy hill to climb.

Kyle Brandt of NFL Network couldn’t believe that salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady is 2-4 against Sean Payton, the slimy Saints coach.

Brandt said Sunday’s loss was a “bad, bad, bad loss.” He added that “choking” against a fourth-string, never-been stiff like Trevor friggin’ Siemian will cost the Bucs.

In January. With a road playoff loss.

Yes, it was a bad loss. It is over, though, and time to move on.

The Bucs have a bye week to fix it, let’s hope they can.

  2. LVMYBUCS Says:

I think Brady has trust issues with Mike Evans

  3. ben Says:

How does Payton keep out coaching the bucs ? The bucs have the better players and yet ,,,!

  4. Hodad Says:

Yeah but it’s still one loss. There’s a lot of season left.

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We won the SuperBowl & are 6-2 to start this season…..have a good shot at winning the division…..New Orleans is down their starting QB & has some tough games ahead….The sky is not falling.
Leave this game behind and focus on WTF…….

  6. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

Lots of season left. All the teams ahead of us have to stay injury free as well. I’m hoping we’ve dealt with ours for the year. A lot often changes the last third of the season.

  7. August 1976 Buc Says:

Ok, is there really a good loss? Some say yes because of different things. But a loss is still loss and they all suck. But 14-2 in last 16, is the best this team has ever done. So yes it was a sorry loss, but if Brady does not have a brain fart and force the ball, most likely they win in spite of all the stupid penalties. So whatever, it is done, on to the bye week.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. 163doubleplay Says:

Bucs will be fine. Its not the last game of the season. JUst a little tweaks here and there and we are back on track. Who knows, other NFC leading teams may experience some adversity along the way. SO just relax and enjoy the highs and learn from the lows.

  9. Mike C Says:

This loss will keep them hungry and humble over the bye week, Rams still need to stay healthy and Miller ain’t what he used to be.

  10. Buc55 Says:

It was a hurtful loss because we all know that we lost that game on our own.. but we overcame last year’s beating and won it all..
Let’s hope the stupid penalties number to go down and pray for our starting CB to come back

  11. Bucs since 76 Says:

Before the final drive Brady was talking to Leftwich and Brady cross his hands in what appeared to be a reference to a crossing pattern. Maybe the Saints picked up on it because the safety seem to be waiting on Godwin. True if Godwin had cut in front of the safety he may have prevented the interception but he would have been hammered. Brady could have throw to Evans but he he would have had to hold the ball for a split second longer.

  12. mark2001 Says:

Joe… I said all of that before the game. So many things that make any return to the SB so much harder by losing that game. Playing in a packed LA or GB in a normal year in Dec? Tough, toughest sledding. The road got a thousand percent harder, and the chances much less of another successful campaign. Glad you said it, as some thought I was being an over alarmist.

  13. PassingThru Says:

That’s a good catch, Bucs since 76. I think you’re onto something with the Brady to Arians/Leftwich poker tell.

  14. Rayjay1122 Says:

Hoping this loss just awakens the sleeping giant. This team is sleepwalking and now it is time to wake the hell up. No more losses boys!!! 15-2 can still lock up home field advantage however keep playing like Sunday and we will be 6-11.

  15. Robert Says:

homefield is over rated. they did just fine last year.

  16. Medicated Pete Says:

Trade Mike Evans for Xavier Howard and bucs have a chance

  17. Francisco Guzman Says:

Meh. Season is not determined in late october. Bucs have to play better on both sides though.

  18. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

This loss really hurt, so thank God my Son bought some Bromosa for this game. We BOTH needed it, to help ease this loss.
I guess we will find out if homefield is over rated, because of this loss.

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Many of the teams in front of us play each other….so they will have some losses.

  20. Patrianakos Says:

    I’m not panicking.
Ten weeks left, one game behind the leaders, and six games of nine against bad football teams. This is a veteran team, they aren’t going to choke one to the Jets or somebody.

  21. Listnfrmafar Says:

I am starting to think this loss is a good thing. The Bucs were treading water barely bearing bad teams and relying on Brady to do his thing. Maybe these coaches and players ha e to step up and win a game without him preforming super human feats. Wake up Bucs you’re a great team now it’s time to prove it. No excuses after the bye the team should be healthy by then. Let Dallas or Rams be #1 stay under the radar like last year. Clean up your shat!

  22. Bucamania Says:

It was a horrible loss. The kind of loss I thought this team was over.

  23. PassingThru Says:

Well it could be a “good loss” in retrospect if the team learns something from it.

  24. mark2001 Says:

Sure Robert… having to use hand signals the entire game because you can hear nothing? Pressure on all the refs on every 50/50 play? 10 below vs. 70 degrees at game time? Used to the home field conditions, swirling winds and places on the field where the sun or winds are a problem? Traveling and staying in strange accommodations? In a game often decided by inches? Sure… home field advantage is over rated.

No fans last year, fans in the stands this year. So no, not overrated.

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It was also costly for NO because they lost Winston at the hands of the Grizzly…..Devin WHite……..White dragged him down by the jersey at the letters and was called for a horse collar……call was horse$hit.

Medicated Realisto: You might want to apply for the GM job at Dollar General before running an NFL team into the ground.

  28. SB Says:

I don’t know if anyone else has figured it out yet but ‘Medicated Pete’ is actually ‘Realist’ just to scared to show his face I believe.

  29. SB Says:

OK! My bad. Joe in Michigan figured it out too. 😂

  30. Kyle Says:

The bye is over rated. It’s usually the team playing the best in Dec and January that wins it all regardless of where they play the games.

  31. Listnfrmafar Says:

Bucs fans, news flash, this is your team and coaching staff, you’re either with them or your not. Don’t think they tried to suck. When I watched the game again right after Saints 1st score, BL’s headphones stopped working causing Bucs second timeout. Pay back will be a bitch.

  32. Armando Valdes Says:

Why are we paying attention to anything these clowns said? Last year when we got blown out by the Saints they said we’re done and not making the playoffs. We showed everyone what is what and we’ll do that again.

We’ll have likely one or two playoff home games before traveling to the NFC championship somewhere else. We still have a huge shot at the 1 or 2 seed, no team is only losing one game this season I’m sorry.

Saints are also in trouble, once we get AB and Gronk back, Brady threw for 375 yards and 4 TD’s the most he’s done against the Saints and Cyril Grayson was in the line up. Nuff said for what is coming in December for the Saints at Ray Jay.

  33. 163doubleplay Says:

Adding Von Miller to the RAMS certainly made them to be the #1 seed in the NFC. Every playoff games, will have to pass via LA.

  34. Darin Says:

Right Hodad. Not even half the season played yet. And who must have home field to win a playoff game? Whoever plays better will win. Breathe Joe. Rodgers will spell it out for ya

  35. Alanbucsfan Says:

There are no good losses unless you’re tanking.
Bucs are on pace for 13-4 … that will win the division.
Can’t control what Rams, Cardinals or Packers do.

  36. Jerry Says:

Too many teams at the top and they aren’t losing unless they play each other. Even the Cowboys won with a backup QB.

That loss was devastating. I guarantee that will haunt this team in January. We are not playing good at all on road games in full stadiums. Look at the stats between our away games and home games. It’s a huge drop off. Do you see this team beating the Rams in LA?

Yes, we will make the playoffs. We will likely win the division. But we won’t get past round 2.

  37. SlyPirate Says:

    HEALTH vs HOMEFIELD

The season will come down to which team is the healthiest at the end of the year. If all teams are equal, then homefield will matter.

  38. Armando Valdes Says:

People on this site need to realize something. Never would I want the Bucs to do what the Rams are doing. They are going all in this year but what happens if they lose? Then throwing every chip to the table was not worth it and Von Miller does not scare me, sorry. He’s nothing like he was even two years ago. If you’ve watched the Broncos prior to his trade he has not been impressive. Wirfs handled him just fine last year.

And if by now you haven’t realized that Brady and by and parts this team plays differently in the playoffs then you haven’t been seeing the culture that Brady has built in Tampa.

  39. Anonymous Says:

Ease up Jerry, have some faith in this team. Instead of thinking the sky is falling cause of two losses dude.

  40. Boomer Says:

    Gotta agree w/Jerry….
Fingers crossed that this game is not a harbinger of things to come.
Bucs have yet to play a full 60 minutes of football.
Their play against backup QB’s has not been good.
Their play away from RJ has not been consistent and at times poor.
Sloppy play left way too many points on the field against the Bears.
They let the Eagles back into the game in the 4thQ and they barely eeked out a win against the Patriots.

The entire team needs to play better.
Devin White’s play shows a lack of discipline.
Coaching??? Offensive and Defensive game plans were poorly designed or poorly executed against the Saints.

In the words of Paul Harvey: Wake Up!!!

  41. Medicated Pete Says:

    @ Joe In Michigan

Pete has no clue who the “realist” is. Here’s other names Pete has gone by:

    – back when this website 1st started i was “Mike Williams Liver” and i got banned. And hadn’t commented in many years or even visited the website till right before we got TB12

    – then i became “Chris Thomas from Heaven”
    -then “Steve Duemig from Hell”
    – Tkras red Bozo Lips”

    – Now “Medicated Pete”

I think Brady has trust issues with Mike Evans

How many TD catches does Evans have this year?

  43. Jerry Says:

Home field last year didn’t mean much. Stadiums (even our own) were practically empty. It will be a big deal this year. And it’s clear the Bucs are playing very poorly on the road and not adapting at all. They got creamed in LA. They barely beat the Patriots, and only because the Pats missed a FG. They let a bad Philly team back into the game late. And now they lost to Trevor Siemen who had only thrown 6 passes since 2018. There is a consistent trend showing here. We can’t play championship-level football on the road…..not even against poor teams.

What makes anyone think this team can go on the road multiple times in the post-season this year and win? They can’t. They will win the division. Get a home playoff game in the wild card and likely destroy that team. Then they will go on the road to LA or Green Bay and lose. Mark it.

    waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh. booooooooo hoooooo.

  45. Richard Dickson Says:

We got whacked 17-7 by the Steelers two weeks before the playoffs started back in 2002. That felt like a worse loss at the time than this did, coming as late as it did in the season.

Sunday sucked, but it’s not the end of the world.

  46. PassingThru Says:

Actually I don’t mind surrendering a mid-round pick if it means picking up a quality CB. Super Bowl windows don’t last forever.

I mean look at the Aints. All those years where they had Brees and all those years wasted with only one chip to show for it.

  47. Bucs&Bolts Says:

We need our defense to step the F up ….

YEP that is the Saints theme this year, because enjoy it Aint Fans when you are watching the Bucs go on in the Playoffs and the Saints get to be bystanders, watching the Bucs move on in the post season.
The Bucs are winning the Division this year, and the Saints theme of crying will be so very loud.
    lolololololol

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!

  49. 0-26 survivor Says:

Was screaming at tv RUN the ball stop the passing on every play , wife had to check up to make sure blood pressure was ok. Bucs were starting to get RUN game going the last few weeks. Brady took some shots in game , one player that cannot be lost obviously. Really good healthy o line , with all the other problems in game , bucs were right there at
The end. 14 runs is not effective game planning . RUN the rock to win.
