A Licht Night
November 22nd, 2021Some say the Bucs’ best defensive lineman is Vita Vea and their top dog on the offensive line is Ali Marpet.
Joe wouldn’t go there, but many hold that view and so tonight was a uniquely special win.
Vea was out with a bad knee and Marpet left the game early with an oblique injury.
In came Rakeem Nuñez-Roches to replace Vea. “Nacho” is a holdover from the Dirk Koetter era and he came up big-time yet again. As for Marpet, backup Aaron Stinnie, a 2019 waiver claim, jumped in at left guard and nobody missed Marpet. It was a lot like what Stinnie did all through the playoffs for right guard Alex Cappa last year.
Joe believes fans should soak that in and send a thank-you note to general manager Jason Licht.
What teams in the NFL could lose two studs in the trenches and shake it off like nothing happened? That lets you know the Bucs’ depth is stellar.

Wirfs would easily be the biggest loss on the offensive line, but Marpet is probably second.
Not sure any loss on the defensive line would hurt that much, as long as they don’t come in droves like happened with cornerback, but that could be said for any position.

Way better than Saquan Barkley at 2 and Daniel Jones at 6.

It tells me something else. I know we won’t be able to afford everyone in the off season, but somehow we need to figure out how to TRY to afford Nacho and Stinnie. I don’t know if we’ll be able to, but I swear if we lose both those guys, it’ll hurt its more than losing Godwin. Say what you will.

Oblique is a muscle in your abdomen that allows you to torque your trunk, I believe. Any football player pulls that, they can’t play. Hope he gets better soon.

Live me some stinnie. Knee he’d have no problems and might be out best run blocker. Almost tempted to say might be tempted to keep him over cappa but it’s close… We have 3 good to great starting guards imo and a heck of s problem to have. Do you consider moving one to center if Jensen contract coming up?

We do seem to have better than average depth, which is unusual for a team with so many Superstars!

Leighroy, take a tip from a repair tech with many years of experience. Lose the search bar, it’s useless. Tap/click in the address bar, and enter your search term(s) there. Searchbars are a means to hijack your computer. I highly recommend uninstalling all searchers, then update your antivirus definitions. Next, run a quick scan. You’ll thank me later.
LFG Bucs!
Let’s Go Brandon!!

No one says Marpet is better than Wirfs. No one. That’s just stupid.
And as for DL, Eva is hurt a lot. A lot. And he calls Suh Big Girl? Well, Suh plays. Keep drinking Gatorade on the sidelines, Vea. You look nice.

Wirfs>>>>Marpet

The way Stinnie played it would be ok to give Ali time to heal, Don’t rush him back.

“Wirfs would easily be the biggest loss on the offensive line, but Marpet is probably second.”
If we either OTs get hurt it would be disastrous!!! We have some depth in the interior line, but at tackle an injury is a killer. Anyone watch Wells play last night?

Is Vea to heavy for his body frame?
