Social Media Study Shows Bucs Among “Most Hated” Teams

Once upon a time in 2019, nobody cared much about the Bucs except pain-loving Tampa Bay fans.
Now not only is America glued to the Bucs, the team has amassed record numbers of haters.
Via the Star-Telegram newspaper in Texas, the gambling site BetOnline.ag used technology to track 400,000 Twitter posts with negative phrases about NFL teams to forge a list of the NFL’s most despised teams. One example of a Twitter phrase tracked was “The Cowboys suck.”
The Bucs ranked second behind the Cowboys for compiling the most states where they are most hated.
Tweets with stronger language were also included in the calculation. The study broke down the percent of “hate” tweets per state. The Cowboys lead the league by dominating the “hate” in eight states, all of which are located in the Northeast. …The Super Bowl defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Green Bay Packers tied for second with six states. The Chargers, Chiefs and Bears are the least-hated teams with just one state each.
Interestingly, the most hated team in Florida is the Patriots, per the recorded data. That makes sense given the Dolphins-Belicheats rivalry and the general and justified disgust for Boston fans.

It doesn’t take a genius to take a two-second look at the map and determine one of the better or best teams in each division is most hated in states where their division rivals reside.
Some deep reporting going on here. It’s flair for the obvious is riveting. Mr. Bohning should be immediately nominated for a Pulitzer.
Tell me Joe, if I copy the map to Twitter and write, “This map sucks,” will it be determined by the Star Telegram’s computer that Florida is #1 in its hatred for cartographers?

Generally speaking winning brings the haters. Dallas has recently been a bad example of that as are the Raiders…two teams that have struggled recently much to the cheering of Raider/Boy haters everywhere.

Most of this map is because of rivalries. Seems like common sense.
The rest of the NFC South hates the Bucs? Not a shocker and means you are doing something right.

Howard was once blinded by his hatred for the Pats, Belicheat and Brady. All Howard saw was this smug QB who hogged all the winning.
Now! Now Howard understands why Matt Damon and Ben Affleck made that embarrassing video with Brady in 2016 and why they acted that way.
Howard now considers himself a student and a disciple of Brady in all ways. Howard reads all the books that Brady reads. Howard thinks WWTBD? in important situations. Howard even tries to follow Bradys diet.
Howard thanks the FB gods for leading their son, TB, to the city of TB.

I too was surprised that Kansas City was not hated more.
They are and have always been a dirty team that holds a lot, and taunts their opponents when they win.
