Extra Meetings Building Confidence

October 21st, 2021

Ryan Jensen reveals

Our beloved Buccaneers are working harder.

The run game is humming and Leonard “Lombardi Lenny” Fournette, the NFL’s 17th-leading rusher, did a bit of a national media tour this week talking about how it’s been flourishing in part because of extra work before and after practice.

Center Ryan Jensen echoed that sentiment today after practice, noting that extra meetings are giving Fournette more confidence. And Jensen said it’s a pleasure to block for a guy running as hard as Fournette.

Cameron Brate was barking on SiriusXM NFL Radio last week barking about how a decent run game is going to open up so much for the Bucs’ passing game.

For Joe, it’s time to see it —  a monster offensive performance. Yeah, the Bucs took four knees inches from the goal line in last week’s 28-22 win at Philadelphia. But Joe’s talking bout hanging six or seven touchdowns Sunday on the Bears.

Don’t the bears have a good defense?

  2. JimBuc2 Says:

Mike C, who cares? Think Brady hasn’t seen every defensive schema known to man? Of course he has. Relax, this isn’t going to be a fair fight. Da Bears are gonna take more than one on the chin. Long trip back to Ohare. Too bad. So sad.
    LFG Bucs!

  3. Bojim Says:

For what they make I think they should meet for 24 hours and not complain.

  4. Bird Says:

Bears have second best pass defense in nfl so not sure what joe is talking about. Karen rodgers just passed for 195 yards last game against same bears

    @”… a monster offensive performance..”
hope so, hope not close game, that will be very satisfying.
We talk a lot of Vita, rightfully so, but boy o boy we got a BEAST in offence too.
His name is Ryan Jensen. 👨‍🦰

  6. Cobraboy Says:

I am more concerned about an excellent defensive statement on Sunday.

  7. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Cobraboy

I’m with you on that… especially since the entire nation except for Houston and Arizona are getting this game

  8. SB Says:

In all fairness though Jmark, 6 teams on a bye in one week when we just went to a 17 game season is kinda Fd up. Worst FF week for Most people. 😂

  9. Jmarkbuc Says:

No arguing that.. just interested to see how we do in front of nationwide audience, especially the D.

Historically we haven’t done all that well in National games, or against the Bears.

  10. SB Says:

    Too true until last year!

  11. SB Says:

    ‘Cept for the Bears. 😒

  12. Swampbuc Says:

A one or two point win is good enough. Last year the run game was smoking and inexplicably Lefty stopped running the ball and, we’ll, it sucked.

  13. Jmarkbuc Says:

    SB

Last year we were bludgeoned by the Saints and beaten by Rams and Chiefs in prime time… and the Bears.

  14. JimmyJack Says:

I think we can put the National TV narritive behind us. You dont get more National coverage then a Super Bowl game and we dominated.

Weve also opened the season for the league on national TV with a win. Won on Sunday Night won on Thursday Night.

Last year we werent good but that likely had more to do with a team developing chemistry……….I say we leave worrying about embarassing ourselves in front of the nation where it belongs…….With the Jamies Winston era ha ha ha.

  15. Listnfrmafar Says:

The Bears offense is fueled by the run with Montgomery which plays right into Bucs strength. No doubt Fields is working on short passes. AB if he is out could make a big difference in the outcome.

  16. Bird Says:

Montgomery is on IR. We will not face him

  17. Defense Rules Says:

Cobraboy … It’s gonna be hard for the Bucs to make an ‘excellent defensive statement’ if this evening’s Bucs’ injury report holds true. LVD & JPP apparently haven’t practiced all week, and of course Sherman’s still out so we’re thin at CB. Bucs also said that Winfield hasn’t yet cleared the concussion protocol. Only good news seems to be that the Bears’ defense is just as banged up as we are. Thank heaven there’s only 1 more game after this until our BYE.

  18. jopaz Says:

If they don’t put up 40+ points but win, y’all won’t be happy?…get a grip guys and perspective.

  19. Ash Says:

I just want them to keep winning. Go bucs!!!!

  20. Mike Says:

Without AB and Gronk, I don’t expect the Bucs scores more than 4 TDs.

  21. Rod Munch Says:

Since RayJay opened in 98, the Bucs either blow out the Bears at home, or lose a close game. I literally forgot about the losses and only remember the blowout wins, going back to 98.

Looking over the box scores from the loses, I see a pattern, the Bucs fumble a bunch of times, like 5+ fumbles, not all lost, but it’s an odd pattern to see multiple games over multiple years all have 5 fumbles, 2 lost, and it’s the RB’s fumbling the ball, mostly.

  22. webster Says:

Since 1996, the head to head matchup is 12-12. Not sure what people are talking about. As it relates to national tv, the bucs DOMINATED 4 playoff games on national tv. So again, not sure what some of you people are talking about
