You Can’t Run Scared

No regret!

The following is totally backward thinking in Joe’s eyes. But, welcome to America in 2021. People are scared of what might happen, and don’t look forward to what could happen.

Bleacher Report columnists are starting to make a name for themselves by writing columns with twisted premises. Here is another example:

Kristopher Knox types a piece that explains a regret each NFL team has from this offseason. You would think with the perfect offseason the Bucs had, there is no regret to be found.

Ah, but Knox found one. And he believes it is keeping Antonio Brown. So why would a team, specifically the Bucs, regret signing a guy that not only played well last year but caught a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl?

Because, Knox believes, Brown might get suspended. Yes, really. Might.

A suspension could also be in play for Brown, who was suspended for eight games in 2020. Brown settled the civil sexual assault and rape lawsuit involving former trainer Britney Taylor, but he could still face league discipline.

Seriously. This is like Joe saying after coming home from the bars tonight, Joe might find an ugly woman in his bedroom. Does that mean Joe shouldn’t go home?

Knox also suggested the Bucs shouldn’t have brought Brown back because he will choke away valuable snaps for the development of Scotty Miller (who is already developed, thank you for paying attention to the Super Bowl champs) and Jaelon Darden.

Well, with that mentality, maybe the Bucs ought to trade Tristan Wirfs because his superior play is keeping Robert Hainsey off the field.

Imagine someone actually collected a check for writing this? And apparently, it’s not satire. This is really ridiculous. This is the type of twisted logic and unmitigated nonsense you might expect from Lovie “I Didn’t Want To Put More Points On The Board” Smith.

What happens if Brown doesn’t get suspended and you moved on from him? Then the Bucs look like abject morons and players will think twice about signing with the Bucs because the team used Brown as a side of beef and didn’t have the stones to go to bat for him after he helped the team win a Super Bowl.

Besides, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady wanted Brown.

Who is dumb enough to argue with Brady?

Wirfs is okay as a depth guy and gave an admirable effort but it was all about a one year wait for Brad Seaton to get up to speed and take over.

Don’t necessarily agree, but I do understand the thought of a.b. being a regret. I am concerned about his ability to put a full season together without becoming a distraction. I am of the belief that the reward outweighs the risk, but I can see that there is risk there.

It’s just the NFL-offseason hype industrial complex. They invent an angle and have to fill it in for each team, regardless of how stupid it may be.

No problem Joe. Just means you didn’t have enough to drink.

“No problem Joe. Just means you didn’t have enough to drink.”

True, but that too comes with a caveat: You can drink em’ pretty but you can’t drink em’ thin.

Been awhile since I’ve taken a poke at the balloon bottoms. Feels good. People make fun of me all the time because, I’m thin, ripped, smart, good looking and a chick magnet. It’s a cruel world out there, but I take it like a man.

Although Queen made a fortune by singing about the benefits of ‘Fat Bottom Girls,’ I never understood how these brutes made the rocking world go round.

Well one thing for sure, Risk it or No Biscuit is not this guys cup of tea lol lol.
Just like when I have stated many times about the Bucs going undefeated 20-0, and all kind of comments are made “WHY it can not Happen lol lol whatever.
What if AB plays like AB has in the past, you know HOF level?
What if Brady throws for 50 TD’S

The premise of his writing came from someone’s idea for writing something, What is this or that teams regret.
Pretty sad premise to write about, but maybe misery loves company and this writer, just flowed in that vein, I do not know.

This writer probably likes Matt Lafleur kicking a FG on 4th down instead of going for it, because “What if something goes wrong, lol lol

BTW Lafleur could learn something from BA, Dagger Shot TD to Scotty before the Half lol versus kicking FG late in the Game.

Matt lo lol No RISK IT BECAME NO BISCUIT lol lol
And every Bucs wants to thank you for scared play calling.

    GO BUCS!!!!

I didn’t care one way, or another if we resigned him, but now I’m glad he’s here. A.B. is a great receiver. He won’t be taking away snaps of Miller, and Darden if they play better then A.B.. Competition, only a sports writer would rather just hand the snaps to a rookie, and Miller. Let them earn em. A.B. makes those other guys better.

  9. ModHairKen Says:

First, a settlement means nothing. He denied it. She said it happened. They agreed not to let a jury decide. Don’t suspend a guy for something that was not proven. Second, so what if he gets suspended? I guess the Bucs will just have to try and get by with only Evans, Godwin, Miller, Tyler Johnson, Justin Watson, Gronkowski, Howard and Brate.

Stupid. As for AB not being able to survive a full season, has anyone heard anything negative since he signed last year? Anything? The guy went through a few bad moments. He probably needed some medical help. It sounds like he’s getting it. Or those bad moments are behind him.

The only regret from the off-season is that the vaccine didn’t come sooner.

An accusation was enough for some folks around here to convict Jameis.

  11. August 1976 Buc Says:

1sparky..It was so dissapointing when Jameis did not fight the accusation with the NFL Suits, and then was suspended by the NFL to start the season. The fact that he would not fight it and just accept the punishment was a day Jameis lost a lot of respect of many that still had his back. A sad day for Jamesis, this franchise and fans. I have been a Jameis fan, and I still hope he somehow figures out how to play QB in the NFL, Just not against the Bucs lol.
Thankfully it is a different day in 2021 Buccaneer land.

GO WORLD CHAMPION BIG BAD AZZ BUCS!!!!

  14. D1 Says:

    August,

Winston most definitely fought the accusation! What else could he have done?

Jameis lost fans by not fighting the suspension, not because he was guilty of sexual assault ……. Gotta say..Winston fans are all class!

  15. August 1976 Buc Says:

D1 says …Jameis lost fans by not fighting the suspension, not because he was guilty of sexual assault.

D1 It is the same thing, the accusation and the suspension, if he did not fight the suspension then he did not fight the accusation. He was admiting guilt by signing his name to the Accusation/ Suspension handed him by the commish. I was very surprised as others were that suddenly it was reported that Jameis was going to be suspended, Then we quickly realized he had signed some kind of deal. Like a plea bargain, becuase if he fought it, it would have been worse for him. That was what was so disappointing was the fact he had actually signed a deal because he had no choice. Whether you like it or not, there were fans of Jamesis like me, that could not believe that he just signed some kind of agreement and did not fight. We found out he was not being honest about the situation before this time publicly. That is why it surprised me, because the things he had said leading up to the time he signed the agreement with Goodell were different than what signing an agreement would entail.

I stated facts about Jameis, not taking shot at him. And you just taking shots at fans with your “class” statement. Really do not understand, just sounds like you angry. Whatever dude…

The Bottom line is Jameis dug the hole he was in, not fans.

As a fan of Florida State since 1979, I was also very much a fan of Jameis, and still am a fan. But he played his way out of Tampa Bay, I sure wish it went different for him as the Starting QB for the Bucs.
Again as I said I hope he can begin to play well consistently, just not against the Bucs.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  16. Hope springs eternal Says:

Wonder if Jamess still stuffs crab legs in his pockets and “forgets” they are there? Draft a guy with character issues and you deserve what you get. Same for AB, he is a risk. But at least he is not in a critical position like qb. If AB screws up he won’t be that big of a loss given the Bucs receiver group. Having a qb with character issues is a disaster as the Bucs learned the hard way.

  17. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Don’t ya just love how the NFL is judge and jury? It was settled out of court for money, goes to show how taken back she was about it.cash is king I guess.

Remind them he’s near the top of list for best WR all time. Most players think about the dough in front of them before AB legal troubles. Brady has turned him around to focus on football. AB puts in serious work. On the same page with everyone this year and new plays drawn up for him, they could be sick. Always gonna be a receiver open somewhere, but Brady is just one GOAT.

  19. 6throundpick Says:

AB is one of the best WRs in the NFL. Like Gronk, he’s back. And he already knows the QB and team. That’s great news!
