Peyton Manning Endorses Chris Godwin

Bucs fans have seen first-hand how Chris Godwin is a do-it-all, Pro Bowl receiver.
He’ll block. He’ll go deep. He’ll work the middle of the field and rack up YAC (yards after catch). He’ll make contested catches. He’ll fight like his life is on the line. And he’ll never pout.
Also, for those who remember back to 2017, Godwin was a hell of a special teams player.
During the recent In The Current episode at Buccaneers.com, a scene was shared highlighting Tom Brady chatting with Peyton Manning before the Bucs-Broncos game in Week 3 last season.
Manning went out of his way to tell Brady that he must be excited to have Godwin back in the lineup.
“I like the way he plays,” Manning earnestly continued.
Godwin was drilled in the head late in Week 1 against the Saints and missed Week 2 via the NFL concussion protocol. He came back firing in Denver, with five catches and a touchdown in the blowout win.
Joe really enjoyed seeing Manning’s genuine enthusiasm when referencing Godwin. It’s quite a compliment for a guy who had missed the previous week’s game.

I thought the most interesting takeaway from that conversation was Payton lamenting about how difficult it’s been for he and his family enduring the adjustments for the pandemic. They were only allow 10 people in his private suite instead of 20. That broke my heart.

Its nice to see Godwin get the credit he deserves. To me he has a blue collar ethic of going out and doing the best job he can in every aspect of the position he plays. I don’t think he has received the full credit from the media for all the varied talent he brings to the game.

Chris Godwin is a great player he is energy efficient. He is great too watch making the plays he made.

Brady seems to have made his best connection with CG last year, and likely doesnt get the double team as much as ME13. Brady is always going to find the open receiver, and is it a surprise that Godwin is that player? How can this offense not be better with a healthier CG and ME13?
