No Ceiling For Efficiency

Inside Tom Brady’s head

The steady exploration of how and why Tom Brady can improve this season found its way to insightful former NFL player and personnel man Louis Riddick.

Joe loves Riddick’s analysis, though not when he’s calling live games. (But that’s a rant for another day.)

Recently, Riddick was talking on BSPN’s Get Up show (aka Stay In Bed) and was asked about where Brady can improve.

Riddick’s focus was on Brady’s years of training with the Belicheats. He talked about how Brady is a product of an environment that demanded situational-football perfection, and that will serve Brady well during Year 2 with the Buccaneers.

“There’s never any cap or any ceiling to efficiency in the NFL,” Riddick lectured. Brady’s drive this season will be born from a desire to play a perfect game(s), he continued, “the kind of things that he grew up in New England having drummed into his head that you have to be perfect in these situations or at least strive for perfection.”

Joe loves how the Bucs sputtered early last season and made a very late run to glory. The way it played out no doubt ignites a2021  fire under Brady.

Joe can only imagine what Brady thinks as he constantly reviews last season’s film and ponders how incredibly better the offense can be over 17 games.

Like Riddick, Joe is looking for more efficiency, the kind that can take the Bucs from averaging 30 points a game to 33.

Trying my best to not get arrested from now till training camp

  2. ModHairKen Says:

It would be great if Brady averaged 250 yards passing and the Backs had 150 yards rushing. That would mean a lot of 24-10 wins.

But get Evan’s his 1,000 yards. I always says stats are for losers, but this is an exception. Mike Evans deserves to be considered one of the best ever. He has placed this team AND the fans over himself, and he deserves the return of that love and respect.

  3. SOEbuc Says:

How and why? The most dominating all around offense could be the answer.

  4. Ontario Mike Says:

Going from U of Michigan football to NE Pats program was like going to grad school. Brady has all the credentials and there is not much he hasn’t seen before. With a James White type to throw to out of the backfield this year and a full year of AB and Fournette and hopefullly an injury free season out of Jones, this offence should be scary !!!

  5. Ontario Mike Says:

Almost forgot…a full year of OJ Howard too…wow.

  6. JB2 Says:

Hey MadHair– take a dramamine. The Backs dont need your support.

  7. SB Says:

If we average 33ppg Joe then 14 – 3 should be the floor.

  8. SOEbuc Says:

I have no clue what receiver will have the most yards. Tom could throw 5,500-6,000 yards and 45-50 TD in 17 games and I still can’t put a finger on who would be the most dominant receiver.

  9. m0j0 Says:

I’m hoping for 35 ppg from the Bucs offense. They have too much talent to be stopped.

  10. Beej Says:

Hats off to whomever posted about the You Tube series “Tom Brady vs the World” THIS was prophetic (talking head, speaking just after we got thwacked 38-3 by the slimy Saints)

  11. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Ontario

Not sure there is such a thing as a full year of OJ

  12. Beeej Says:

    Pshaw, we can’t post links

  13. lambeau Says:

I’m with m0j0–Tom and Randy Moss with the 2007 Patriots did 36.8 PPG, which I think is a good target. (Mahomes did 35.3 his first season–the battle is joined.)

  14. Mike28277 Says:

    Like his takes

  15. BUCFAN4LIFE Says:

Nothing new to see here folks . Don’t rubber-neck and keep moving . TB12 for 2 decades has demanded perfection from himself and his teamates and that will never change .
