The Bucs “Are Not Playing Games”

May 5th, 2021

Impressed.

This kind of got lost in the shuffle of draft hysteria, but Joe now has the time to give the subject its due.

When the Bucs re-signed furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing receiver Antonio Brown, it was the last piece of the puzzle before the Bucs possibly go stomping through the NFL like one of those tripods in “War of the Worlds.”

And the move left screamin’ Stephen A. Smith of BSPN deeply impressed with the Bucs’ aggressive team-building.

“I think it cements what we already know,” SAS said. “That they will be the favorites to repeat, No. 1. No.2, [the Bucs] are not playing games. And No. 3, they have lived up to their word in every way you can imagine when it comes to their commitment to Tom Brady.”

For reasons not fully clear, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Brady is in the tank for Brown.

“This is who he wanted,” SAS said of the Brown and Brady connection. “This is someone who he wanted when he was in New England. He wanted him when he got to Tampa Bay. Obviously, Bruce Arians, who once was completely against Antonio Brown being a member of their locker room, embraced it.”

SAS seems to believe Brown, with a mandatory minicamp, full training camp and preseason under his belt very likely could blown up this fall (in a good way).

“This brother is an all-world receiver,” SAS said.

What Joe finds funny is the folks in national sports radio attacking Packers management for the current hassle with drama queen quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They point to the Bucs as an indirect culprit.

“Look at what Tampa Bay does for Brady,” they holler, stating if the Packers busted their tail to surround Rodgers with as much talent as the Bucs do Brady, the Packers would have several more Vince Lombardi Trophies.

Ain’t it good to be hated for a change?

This receiving Corp is soo dominant. And this oline is so deep with talent. We had 35.5 ppg in the regular season 2020. We’re gonna have some fun 2021.

  2. Walter Says:

I’m enjoying this period of time that we are the cream of the NFL, every second of it.

  3. Kentucky Buc Says:

Brady talks to AB at UFC event and next thing you know he signs. Coincidence ? Lol

  4. Steve in Mad Beach Says:

Fantastic to be the hated team for once!

    Go Bucs! Dominate!!!

  5. August 1976 Buc Says:

The bottom line is this about the Pack, it weakens one of the best teams in the NFC without a single down being played. Tom has already said he would give 2 SB for an undefeated season. I know it was just a response to Shannon Sharpe, but Tom did say it on a national platform. Make no mistake, Tom has so many records but not an undefeated season, and that would be all the better. Growing up a Buc fan starting in 1976, the Dolphins were the big bad “older brother” the team I disliked the most, all the more because the Bucs were 0-26 bad. So if by some great fortune of fate the Bucs could pull off a 20-0 season, it would be fun for it to be the Little Bro lol to stop those older Dolphins from popping the Bubbly. Anyways it is all fun, and good to be the World Champs. GO BUCS!!!!!

  6. Bruce Blahak Says:

20-0 = 28 straight wins. Cancelling the 0-26 disaster beginning. Would be beautiful!

  7. 2021 Year of the GOAT Says:

    Buc em up baby !!!

  8. Leighroy Says:

    Hated? Maybe more like envied.

  9. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Wawa Roger’s. For years Brady had substandard receivers and he made it work. He honored his contract before parting from the Pat’s. His last season was 12-4 with a broken Edleman and a bunch of no names. Here’s the difference, Brady relies on his team to step up and win games, these other premadonas think they can make it happen. Good luck with that! Go Bucs. AB is going to show the world soon to be 8 time probowler.

  10. Bird Says:

    Yeeeaaaahhhhh

Another moniker i think. “Smart phone phobic”. So awesome doing this every day to the greatest player of all time . Who may actually be turning the organization into a franchise. You know the guy that can increase merchandise sales 1200%. Really fun times . They make people laugh. See 😂

You know who has actually amazing monikers? Very positive and very cool
Because he was loved and worshipped here. I will give you a hint “americas quarterback and mr entertainment “

Grown arse men pump this stuff out. Amazing.

One week to NFL schedule release 🤗🍻

  12. Ftmyersbuc Says:

Id rather be hated than pitied

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I was there for the 0-26……this is much better. Brady would join me in saying “let’s go 1-0.

  14. Hodad Says:

I want to give a shout out to brother SAS for his fine acting job on General Hospital. Rick’s got Carly’s back!

  15. Irishmist Says:

What the media fails to mention is that the Bucs had good players before Brady got here, thanks to 10 years of losing seasons and high draft picks. After Brady signed, at below market value, we could afford Gronk, and then signed Lenny and AB on cheap prove it deals. Rogers wanted top dollar when he signed, and his teams have always been good enough so they’d end up drafting towards the bottom. So now it would be really difficult for Green Bay to recreate what Tampa has done, because they don’t have the cap room.

  16. SB~LV Says:

Back end of the defense could use a veteran if one becomes available!

  17. 813bucboi Says:

    rodgers is a horrible team mate….huge difference…

its funny how rodgers has elite weapons until its HIS time to make a play….

rodgers aint the leader brady is….case closed…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  18. Youngbucs Says:

Just a reminder we are currently on the longest win streak in franchise history!

  19. Cobraboy Says:

Whiny b!tches rarely make solid, strong leaders. Aaron Rodgers is quite the drama queen. He’d fit well with Gruden, since all that guy knows is drama.

  20. Jmarkbuc Says:

Pack are 13-3 the last two seasons and in the NFC championship game.. how bad could their talent be?

Hang on a couple years AAron, we might be in the market for another aging superstar QB…

  21. PSL Bob Says:

Of course, the Bucs had much of the talent now surrounding Brady before he was recruited. Granted, they brought in Gronk, Fournette and AB to add to that talent. What was impressive was Licht’s restructuring of contracts to free up cap space to bring in that extra talent and retain it once players became free agents.

  22. Joe Says:

Just a reminder we are currently on the longest win streak in franchise history!

    Yup! 🙂

  23. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Here is to hoping we go undefeated next season, and why not ?
I sincerely hope that we do, and go down as the best team in the history of Football.
Folks, with Tom Brady here, we are watching history unfold, so embrace it, and enjoy it while it lasts.

  24. Greg Says:

I just want to put out there that I’m pretty sure AB will be our leading receiver next year. And that’s probably a good thing. This is not at all a slight to ME or Godwin. They are pro-bowl talents. But AB was the most dominant receiver in the game. If you project his 8 games with us last year to a full season he’s over 100 receptions and 1200 yards, and that’s without any offseason for him, Brady, and Leftwich to really figure things out together.

It’s scary to think how good they could be this year together!

  25. TOM Says:

Is there a way the Bucs could trade for Rodgers to take up where TB lets off.

  26. Joe Says:

Is there a way the Bucs could trade for Rodgers to take up where TB lets off.

Research Aaron Rodgers playing in warm-weather cities/games. It ain’t pretty.

  27. PSL Bob Says:

Chris, I’m with you all the way. It is possible! I don’t have any doubt that with Brady and Arians the team will stay focused. It will require a relatively injury-free season and a little, not a lot, but just a little, luck. That will start with the schedule to be released a week from now.

  28. BA4President Says:

@BruceBlahak The potential 2022 undefeated talk makes me extremely nervous. That said, that would be one amazing factoid!!

  29. #1bucsfan Says:

Bin a Bucs fan since Trent dilfer. Got to watch a dominant defense then went thru the lost decade. Now this is so so surreal. Can’t believe what we did still y’all. Gotta say this is a Bucs life I could get use to

  30. Oxycondoms Says:

Not a fan of the undefeated season puts too much pressure on the players home field should be the goal

  31. Mike Says:

A Rod needs to just sit out and force a trade. Tired of hearing his whining.

  32. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

I agree, I was on the Patriots undefeated ride in 2007, the pressure on the players was intense, that’s all the Boston sports media could talk about. As I recall the Ravens actually beat them not for a BS PI call in the endzone. IMO that is why they lost the SB, over confidence. A lot of people talking repeat, I hope that’s not the kiss of death.

  33. Scooter Says:

Last season is over. now one game at a time. u want to start clicking in December.

  34. Anonymous Says:

@ SOEbuc 30.8 pys per game. Hopefully 35+ ppg his year though! Go Bucs!!!
