Shannon Sharpe Believes Sales Pitch For Giovani Bernard Is Nonsense

When it was learned the Bucs signed former Bengals running back Giovani Bernard, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network also noted that both Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians and park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, Bucs-Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady personally recruited Bernard.
Shannon Sharpe believes that is a borderline crock.
The Hall of Fame tight end who now co-hosts “Undisputed,” seen weekday mornings on FS1, tried to contain his laughter at the thought of Arians and Brady trying to sell a player who has experienced little but losing in his career on a chance to play for the defending Super Bowl champions.
“How hard is it to recruit someone from Cincinnati?” Sharpe howled. “That’s like somebody from Alabama trying to recruit somebody from JUCO. “I mean, REALLY? I mean, he got released from Cincinnati.
“So let me get this straight: ‘OK, I’ve got options, here are my options. A million dollars from Jacksonville or a million dollars from Tampa Bay?’ How hard of sell job is that?”
To be fair, the Chiefs were also trying to get their foot inside Bernard’s front door. The defending AFC champs have a much less crowded backfield and have Pat Mahomes as their quarterback.
Still, Florida is a native of South Florida, and Tampa Bay isn’t Jacksonville with a hard@ss college coach and a rookie quarterback. The Bucs have a known players’ coach, a farm animal for a quarterback who likes to throw to his running backs, and a shiny new Vince Lombardi Trophy to polish with all 22 starters back from a championship season.
It may not have been a heavy sales job but it sure didn’t hurt that Arians and Brady showed Bernard some love.

Wow I will be the first to call Shannon Sharp an idiot. After watching Youtube of him being one of many that called TB washed up early last year now he comes with a misinformed take. The reports are that the Chiefs and Seahawks both tried and that Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson got involved for the Seahawks. So now say what you said and yes they sold the Bucs and I am glad they did. Bernard is a huge upgrade from McCoy in receptions ball security and pass protection. The guy should have never been let mo by Cincinnati who was millions under the cap when they asked him to take a pay cut.

The same dude who heartily laughed when Bayless suggested Brady would throw 40 TD passes in 2020. Shannon Sharpe needs to get laid or something. His complete infatuation with anything and everything Tom Brady is unhealthy. I know the “rent free” cliche is thrown around pretty randomly these days but man does Brady live rent free in Shannon Sharpe’s head.

You know, Shannon Sharpe called it WRONG all of the entire last year concerning us.
I don’t trust him at this point to know the difference between shart and shinola.. I Don’t believe he actually watched our games. Sold us short ALL of last season.

It is pretty clear that Minneapolis doesn’t know how to train their police force. But I wouldn’t paint all police with that brush. Too extensive a generalization. These have been truly despicable acts but sports (football on this fine blog) helps keep some enjoyment in this world – despite all the sad news.
