Sean Sullivan has the most well thought-out mock that I’ve heard, IMHO. I like the Bucs going edge rusher at 32. I really wonder if Joseph Ossai playing last year and Joe Tryon sitting out might have an impact on who the Bucs select. Also, when it’s said that Ossai is a “Devin White-type of player”, my ears perk up like a dog that hears a can opener.

  2. Curse of Gruden Says:

Did Ira say the Bucs were picking a lobster at #32!?

The guy is *always* around the ball. That’s why he makes so many game-changing plays.

  4. Medicated Pete Says:

GM Sean is soo good every time. When he mentioned Chucky drafting the Appalachian State WR, I got P.T.S.D. (Gruden should’ve been fired immediately for that).

I love listening to sean sullivan, he has good info, and good rationale behind his mock. Also I love to hear how he hates the saints and drew brees getting beat to pieces in the last playoff game–it is enjoyable watching some teams lose as much as seeing some win. Seeing Brees lose with 3 picks was glorious!!!!!!!!!! Listening to Sean is one of the best parts of Joes site. will have to familiarize with Joe Tryon. Good pod!!!!!!!!

  6. IrvFan Says:

Less Ira is never a good thing

  7. FortMyersDave Says:

This was one of the informative mock drafts I have ever heard. Joe Bucs and Sean S should make this a yearly ritual! Good commentary on all the picks and I liked the rant on Chuckie selecting Appalachian State WR Dexter Jackson. In the context that Roberto Aguayo did actually kick a few field goals for the Bucs, I guess Sean is right: it is safe to say that D Jackson was the worst Buc second round pick of all time. Still hard to top Culverhouse going after Bo Jackson with the #1 overall pick even after Jackson said he would not sign with the Bucs. Anyhow, very entertaining mock draft, more of Sean Sullivan talking Buc football is always a great thing!

  8. Bruce Blahak Says:

Thats 2 Buc reporters predicting Tryon. Wasn’t considering him at 32 but Sean’s assessment has my ears up. “Nasty” is always a good word attached to a football prospect 🙂

  9. Bucs Bro Says:

More d linemen is never a bad thing unless they are drafted by Bruce Allen

  10. JimbobBucsFan Says:

The consensus among the analysts who are “in the know” about our Bucs is that JOE TRYON, edge rusher, should be our target for the pick in the first round.

This was a most informative and entertaining mock draft for this staunch Buccaneer fan. Gentlemen, you did a superb job of getting it all in during the time frame you were allotted.

Sean Sullivan (plus Lee) have finally convinced me that the Bucs will not/should not draft any QB in this year’s draft. (I would expect that the Glazers as well as Licht are in complete harmony about this behind the scenes.)

Just listened to your full mock draft with the owner of Bill Curry Ford and it was awesome except I go way back and look up Booker Reese as the worst Buc draft pick of all time (yes before you arrived in Tampa Ira). Joel Bushbaum who I use to order his draft flier when I was a kid back in 70s had him as a project. He was a tall lanky defensive end. Problem was he could never get a sack. He did get one sack and two interceptions but he was a number one pick. Wikipedia has him down as the worst draft pick ever by the Buccaneers and I stand by that one. A number one pick defensive end who got one sack. The Rams picked him up cut him and he was never heard from again.
