Tom Brady: “Talk Sh*t To Me”
March 17th, 2021More stories are emerging from the iconic 2020 Bucs locker room.
Super Bowl linebacker Lavonte David visited the I Am Athlete podcast and shared a bit about Tom Brady’s approach and how much it was respected.
Bucs fans heard all about how Brady reached out to new teammates upon landing with the Bucs. No surprise at all. But David emphasized that Brady wasn’t just hitting up the big names and he was all about the entire squad all season.
“Tom Brady, superstar, celebrity, icon, you know, he took his time out when he got signed; he took his time out to call everybody on that roster,” David said.
“That’s one thing I really do respect about him. He’d take his time to know everybody in that locker room. And he’d tell you, like, ‘Man, don’t treat me no different. If you want to goof around with me, goof around with me. That’s what it is. That’s what we are. When you’re out there on the field, compete with me. Talk trash to me. Talk sh*t to me. You know, make me feel like I’m one of the guys.’ He basically was saying like, ‘I’m coming to your locker room. Don’t treat me different.'”
Extraordinary.
Joe heard that and had to wonder how Brady will handle Year 2 in Tampa, when it’s now his team, his locker room and so much of the roster returns.
The only thing Joe can be sure of is that every player will be watching Brady from Day 1 to see what kind of tone he sets. After all, Brady likely is the only current NFL player who has won back-to-back Super Bowls with the same team.

David also guaranteed we win again this year…….D’oh !!!
March 17th, 2021 at 5:17 pm
Wasn’t that a Sheryl Crow song?
March 17th, 2021 at 5:28 pm
Wonder if he would be willing to be a coach for tampa when he decides his time as a player is done.
March 17th, 2021 at 5:30 pm
legendary. as bucs fans, we have to be blessed. makes up for all the hard years. amazing.
March 17th, 2021 at 5:32 pm
Tom Brady is a truly remarkable athlete. And he is forever tied to your Tampa Bay Buccaneers! Thank you Glazer Family. Thank you, Jason Licht.
The next two years will be a blast. Sold out stadiums. High expectations. Winning. Low interceptions. A running game. A return to dominant Defense.
Maybe it’s not the Patriots history but don’t you think their fans got a little bored?
March 17th, 2021 at 5:36 pm
Great point, how does the locker room handle the stardom from their SB victory. Perfect example how did KC handle it? They thought their sh#$t didn’t stink. Bucs do not want to go into next season with the same attitude listening to all the positive BS media. How great is it to have Brady, Gronk, Shaq, JPP & hopefully AB & James White in the locker room to get the team on a reality check.

They mad they big 😡😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡
March 17th, 2021 at 5:42 pm
I’m not sure he likes being the GOAT in the lockerroom.
…………………
Anybody remember the losing and constant INT’s?
March 17th, 2021 at 5:53 pm

Listnfrmafar – the Chiefs went 14-2, and one of those losses was in week 17 when they sat most of their starters. They made to the SB but just ran into a better team at the end. They had an excellent run trying to go back to back. They were damn near perfect until that final game.
March 17th, 2021 at 6:28 pm
TheBradyBunch, the Bucs were the better team that day but not 31-9. They were arrogant and thought they could run over Bucs. I’ve seen it before Pat’s vs Philly SB, Rams vs Pats both SB wins, Seattle vs Pats SB, Carolina vs Denver SB etc. Repeating is hard, the locker room needs to know this. Look back at KC last year, horrible against Pat’s, Atlanta win a lot of come back games which leads me to think them came in cocky.

Indeed Chris L. Indeed!!!
Thanks Joe!!!!

ModHairKen:
I’m a season ticket holder and I asked my Rep why they didn’t offer seat upgrades before our money was due this past Monday. She said the Stadium is a basically sold out, as it was last year (thanks to TB12), we just didn’t get to see it because of Covid. It is going to be rocking when this season kicks off, everyone vaccinated, full capacity, probably a night game. Omg I cannot wait!

March 17th, 2021 at 7:04 pm
I wonder if Shill Joe is now starting to learn the importance of and results of good leadership.
He did give up on Bud Light because he got a craft brewery as a sponsor….
Probably not, he’s too narrow minded..
I BA I Trust!

There’s a pretty good chance that there will never be another QB like Tom Brady. All of us need to try to breathe as much of this in as we can. Midway through the season I had serious questions about what this team had done, those questions are obviously so far in the past now. I feel silly for ever doubting this guy.
He honestly is bigger than the game at this point.
March 17th, 2021 at 7:53 pm
Succop…signed…
March 17th, 2021 at 7:53 pm
We are lucky as all hell to have Brady man. For the now and what he is instilling in our young guys like Devin White, Carlton Davis, etc. It’s a sweet time to be a Bucs fan.
March 17th, 2021 at 7:53 pm
Bleacher Rep is reporting Succop has resigned.

March 17th, 2021 at 8:24 pm
Shady McCoy has won back to back rings.
March 17th, 2021 at 9:15 pm
I have to admit…I will admit, I underestimated the power of tom brady. His ability to get every OUNCE of effort, want and accountability out of the entire team. I didnt think he was washed up and knew he was a good qb, but he really is the G.o.a.t!
Imagine if we were lucky enough fot Tom to interview qb prospects and choose his protégé for us.Imagine.if he stayed and coached that kid when he was.donr playing?????
We got at least two more years with him as our qb…but is this the start of a long term dynasty!???
Ahhhhhhh its good to bask and dream at the same time every now and then lol!
March 17th, 2021 at 10:50 pm
Bucmup,
Respect
March 18th, 2021 at 6:49 am
I wish that we had had a chance to get TB12 in his prime, but I’ll take this time and live in the moment! Go Bucs!
March 18th, 2021 at 8:07 am
A shame Joe wasted the nickname “America’s QB” on the wrong guy. Tom Brady is America’s QB and probably the best FA signing in franchise history when you factor in all the other intangibles beyond just on field play.
March 18th, 2021 at 12:31 pm
Joe Day 1 has already begun for No.8. Tom doesn’t wait. Tom doesn’t have an off-season just an off day or two.
