This will probably really irk Gisele.
It seems the Bucs and park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady really are working on an extension. And it is not far away.
Josina Anderson, late of BSPN, who is as plugged in as any NFL reporter, Twittered out that Brady and the Bucs are “getting closer” to hammering out a new contract to keep him with the Bucs past the 2021, the final season of his current contract.
I’m told the #Bucs are ‘getting closer’ to reworking Tom Brady’s contract, per source. Tom Brady will be 44 in August. Brady has said he’d ‘consider’ playing beyond 45 years old.

This is great news to Joe. Brady didn’t look even remotely washed up as he led the Bucs to the Super Bowl. And extending his contract would free up money so the Bucs can still make a run at keeping their Big 8 free agents.
Hopefully, this extra cash will go to Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett so he doesn’t sniff free agency. There’s no telling what will happen when a team flashes $20 million a year in the face of Shaq’s agent, oily Drew Rosenhaus.

If Brady doesn’t go for 2022+, how many of those “Big 8” would consider some other place to play?

Tom Brady is the reason many great players
want to join the Buccaneers. His leadership is invaluable.
He gives matchup and other coaching tips to both the offense and defence. As was stated by one of the Bucs players, TB12 just doesn’t convince the entire locker room, that they can win, but they will win !

From a personal perspective, Ive maintained a healthy lifestyle and the aches and pains of old age held out for a bit but hit the cliff at 50. I think if he maintains this TB12 plan he can play at a high level in his late 40’s. Dynasty baby, enjoy Bucs fans!

Brady had a helluva year and his TD:Turnover Ratio was outstanding. Brad Johnson didn’t throw the ball as much, and Jameis turned it over like it was going out of style.
I would hear a lot of folks say, “but… 5000 yards passing”. How about 4600 yards passing, a top notch turnover ration, and a Sb ring?
The 2020 Bucs don’t assemble the way they do w any other QB than Brady. He is the GOAT and a leader of men.

Steve K How you know our defense was great this year our running game was good . BA stop Rojo from getting a 1,000 yards. And Rojo miss some games because of injuries and still couldn’t have gotten a 1,000 yards. RoJo got 98 yards on one carry. 1k yards could’ve been had.
The playbook had some Brady elements and why not.
I believe the vast majority of Jameis’ 30 INTs can at home 24/30, and most of them also came in shorter windows.
The defense and the running game were elevated bc the Goat calls the right plays and makes pre-snap reads.
The defense was stout last year, but it’s just too tall of an order to try and overcome all those turnovers.
Jameis had too much variance to his game due to the inconsistency in his play.
It’s harder for a running game and a defense to be as consistent when their QB is such a mixed bag of outcomes.
Brady is the stabilizer and the best QB ever. Glad we get him here to lead our team.
RoJo, also needs to catch the ball better and not have lapses in games. He would’ve gotten 1k, but the team was more interested in winning.

Look at how the stats were accrued. Peyton was getting better by year five, not blowing up and throwing 4.8% INT rate in their fifth year. Plus the rules were tougher back then with regards to how you can hit receivers- at the line, laying them out, etc.
Look at the INT numbers around the league from other QBs. They are are throwing less bc the rules of the game dictate so.

Brady might crash, but you have to go all in with the team for next year, part of that includes extending Brady to make more $$$ available this year. When Brady crashes let’s face it we crash ! Oneil, in 2018 Brady won the SB. 2019 he had no receivers and still made the PO’s. I guess Bucs can resign Winston and state losing again. At least he will be younger.

Buxsznt. That’s my hold point about making 1 man bigger than the team . So when Brady crash that means every player on the team will be trash to all yall but me . You see I believe we can win without Brady . We have to draft a quarterback this year and develop him but the fan base is so afraid . Listnfrmafar in 2018 they had Sonny Mitchell who ran the Patriots to the superbowl . And plus the defense was great Brady didn’t even throw 1 td plus he had a pick . And as for his last year with the Patriots I though he didn’t weapons . That’s why I said Brady needed the bucs !! Thank you for making my point !!

I’d try to tie him up for an extra two years, I saw nothing that would make me think he’s anywhere close to washed up or even winding down. Sure, he can’t move, but with a strong run game and a good line you can negate a lot of that.
So lock him up for 2 more years, giving you a 3-year window, then do all your deals around that time frame, understanding that at the end of the 3-year window the team goes into ‘cap hell’ for a year as you rebuild. Don’t get cute trying to think you draft someone this year to take over, blah blah blah, just ride this as long as you possibly can.
This is the most losing franchise in the history of professional sports and you’re in the midst of possibly changing your image – so go all in.

Rob Munch At some point they got develop their own quarterback. Yall can’t keep running from that reality about this team. We have a young enough team to do that so why not draft a quarterback behind Brady . At any time Brady will call it quick and then what ?? That’s why I don’t put one guy over the hold team especially a guy that’s about to be 44 . I have more faith in this team than everyone on this site . Brady needed the bucs more than the bucs needed him and I will always believe that !!

I agree with this part of your statement. That’s why I feel we need to draft a QB in round 1 or 2…at least to start prepping someone. Or sign someone with actual potential. Our backup situation is horrible, and with the oldest QB, we have a high risk QB so far as injuries.

I would take 2-3 years of superbowls over 3-6 years of young QB development in a heartbeat.
I don’t think we are sure to enter rebuild mode though. If the Bucs start searching for the right guy now, they could end up with a good one. He just won’t start right away.

Oneil, who was the MVP in 2018 SB? That’s right Edleman a WR. Someone had to throw him the ball. Rams game play was to stop the pass, Sony Michel wasn’t even on their radar. Bug deal Sony did his job twice in one season. He is now a backup RB, like Jamais is a backup QB. Of course Brady needs a team to win that is obviously but where the head goes the ass follows and he’s the head.
