Bucs Can’t Relax
March 30th, 2021Recently, Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said he is going to “beat the sh!t” out of his team when they begin practices for the 2021 season, partly to make them forget about winning the Super Bowl and realize it is a new year.
Arians is playing it smart, if you listen to Nick Wright.
The outspoken FS1 personality on “First Things First” believes too many fans are remembering the Bucs being dominant in the Super Bowl and thus are crowning the Bucs for 2021 because AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht kept the Band of Bucs together.
When asked recently who will repeat as NFC champs, the Bucs or the field, Wright said the field. But he added while he likes Tampa Bay as a favorite, he said the Super Bowl clouds people’s minds.
The Bucs had to scratch and claw their way to the Super Bowl, Wright said, so it’s not like the Bucs are the 500-pound gorilla of the NFC.
“The degree of difference between the Bucs and the other teams in the NFC last year was minute if in existence at all,” Wright said. “I don’t look at Tampa as a team that is head and shoulders better than the rest of the conference last year.”
Wright emphasized he wasn’t knocking the Bucs, just that each playoff win was close except for the Super Bowl domination.
Joe think this is a fair take. Now if park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady doesn’t throw three second-half picks at Green Bay, perhaps the Bucs blow out the Packers. For a while there in the third quarter, Joe thought that was exactly what was about to happen.
So Wright may be onto something. And Joe believes Arians has the same mindset as well.
You can see Wright’s full take in the FS1 video below.
“Tampa wasn’t a team that was head & shoulders better than the rest of the NFC. … Tampa, Green Bay & basically the entirety of the NFC West could be contenders. There are 6 legit NFC contenders at the end of March.”

Rockin’ his Drew Brees like hairpiece from wigs r us…Nick Rarely Wright is still bitter that Brady and The Bucs proved him and his beloved Chiefs wrong in 2020. Having given my own bitter take about him :)…he’s not completely wrong. Bucs will have their hands full in 2021.
March 30th, 2021 at 9:13 am
We’re very good.
We were also very lucky.
I look forward to how we handle adversity this year.
March 30th, 2021 at 9:18 am
Nick Rarely Wright…rocking his Drew Brees approved hairpiece…is no doubt still bitter that Brady & The Bucs proved him wrong and took down his beloved/bandwagon Chiefs. The Bucs have a tall mountain to climb again in 2021 no doubt.
March 30th, 2021 at 9:20 am
wright was wrong all year regarding the bucs…..lol….looks like he’s making the same mistake…
GO BUCS!!!!

Almost every team that has won the Super Bowl has, at the end of the season, look dominant. The difference here is the amount of staters the Bucs return – all of them.
March 30th, 2021 at 9:30 am
Screw that clown, I stopped listening to all these so called analyst last year.
March 30th, 2021 at 9:32 am
He’s a younger Skip Bayless with his hot takes…
March 30th, 2021 at 9:32 am
Nick should be wearing a mask at all times

Yes, all the playoff games leading to the SB really could have went the either way. First, in addition to being good, you need some breaks – the Bucs got those. But just look at the Packers game -a LOT of it came down to simple play calling by the coaches. Two calls in particular:
1) Great call of a go route to little Scooter at the VERY END of the 1st half combined with the single safety call (so dumb) by GB’s defense. That TD was crucial.
2) GB taking the ball out of Rodgers hands with an 8 pt deficit and a minute or so to go to kick a FG – seriously?! I cheered that decision as much as Scooters TD. IMO, that was dumb as you can get. Who the heck takes the ball out of the hands of Rodgers?!🤣
March 30th, 2021 at 9:47 am
wright is most of the time wrong!!!!
Sooner or later people have to realize that reliable “journalist”/”experts” are very few nowadays….You can count them with only one hand…..Jokers!!
March 30th, 2021 at 9:54 am
We were fortunate on injuries……peaked at the right time and got some in-game breaks……that’s what you need to win a SB…..
We will need all of that and more this year……and we won’t be sneaking up on teams….
March 30th, 2021 at 10:09 am
I get it Joe. If someone is talking about the Bucs you will post it on here, but can you draw the line with the following?
1)Drunk fan with vomit on his chin
2)Folks that have been institutionalized.
3) Satan
4) Nick Wright & Max Kellerman
March 30th, 2021 at 10:17 am
Agree 100% Ocala…we should add…Skip Bayless, Stephen A, Shannon and Colin Cowherd….huraaahhhh for Joe’s, The sage, and all locals!!!!
March 30th, 2021 at 10:25 am
I think Wright’s take on the Bucs might be different at the end of the 21 season. I expect them to be dominant in most games. Much more so than KC was in 20.
March 30th, 2021 at 10:29 am
Bucs spent most of the year working things out. There was no comparison to the team that opened the season versus the team that played game number 16
March 30th, 2021 at 10:36 am
Remember the fans that in the last game of the season that were saying we already made the playoff’s. Rest Brady, rest Evans, rest other players.
Those same fans were screaming because Evans did get a little hurt. That is the mentality of BA and other coaches and players. The Atlanta game was ahead of them and they wanted to win that game.
Who is to say if we took that game off what would have happened. I think we would have had Seattle to start the playoff’s and who is to say how our post season would have gone.
Thank goodness that we already have players and coaches on this team that want to win all the time!
March 30th, 2021 at 10:50 am
I actually agree with the pencilneck this time. We can say “if Brady doesn’t throw three second half picks in Green Bay it’s a blwout” and we couldl also say “if Winfield doesn’t punch out a fumble from Cook in New Orleans, the Saints go to Green Bay.”
The Winfield play is an example of why the Bucs made the playoffs in the first place, and the Brady second half in Green Bay is an example of what happens when you think you’ve arrived.
It’s very hard to repeat, injurties and being the hunted are strong forces.
March 30th, 2021 at 11:18 am
Last year is over. If The Bucs want to win in 21, they have to concentrate on what’s ahead of them. Nobody’s going to give them anything. That’s cool bring it on. GO BUCS!
March 30th, 2021 at 11:18 am
I would say that every NFL season comes down to health, depth, and luck…..but then Tom Brady has been to the Super Bowl exactly half of the 20 season’s that he’s been in the NFL. So either he’s the luckiest player the NFL has ever seen, or he’s the most valuable player the NFL has ever seen.
He’s the ultimate grading scale curve breaker. History and stats apparently don’t apply when he is your QB. Every single stat that they can come up with to explain why or how he is slowing down he obliterates.
Some day father time will catch up, but even an 85% Tom Brady gives you a chance. His intangibles are that far in the stratosphere.
March 30th, 2021 at 11:27 am
Are you kidding?
The 2021 Bucs are Head + Shoulders + Knees + and Toes above EVERY TEAM in the NFC.
Packers, Rams, WFT, Arizona will compete but Tampa is a lot better.
March 30th, 2021 at 11:40 am
That guy went out of his way to throw shade at this team last year as well. This team got better and peaked at just the right time last season. Its not rocket science. While Brady was adjusting to the offense Nick Wright trembled every week for the opportunity to tell us Brady was washed up. Jokers like him live for the hot take, when the real question is- Do we think this team is more like the team that took the field at the start of the season, or more like the one that finished the season. I think this team may have played a complete game one time last season, and that they will continue to draw from that performance. These pundits have to bring Hopium to the fan bases of these other contenders because the truth of the matter is Tom Brady just pulled off the unlikely and is in position to do it again. These are charmed times indeed.
March 30th, 2021 at 12:14 pm
Bucs can’t relax is like saying helmets are required. Never see a Tom Brady led team come out and relax after winning the Super Bowl. We just happen to have one of the easiest schedules in the league thanks to being a wild card. Year two of the offense with an off-season. Should definitely be a better statistical year. We had a great win loss record but not seeing very many L’s on the schedule
March 30th, 2021 at 12:22 pm
I expect a repeat.
Nothing less.
We’ve got Brady.
Nuff said.
Go Bucs!!!
March 30th, 2021 at 6:17 pm
This is the clown that said KC would dominate us on our home field again in the Super Bowl.
Arians, Bowles, Lefty, and Brady will not let this team rest.
We are not going to be dominant.
We are going to be just plain old NASTY.
March 30th, 2021 at 7:04 pm
I would always definitely say the field every time but we got the GOAT so I give us a little leniency. We’re not a KC team that is gonna think they can skate to a SB win. Bucs are gonna come to play this year.
Kiss the rings b!tch 🐐
GO BUCS!!!
March 30th, 2021 at 7:14 pm
Wright reminds me of the Vulture from the 60’s Marvel comics and is annoying as all get out. I think that I’ve listened to maybe 10 minutes of him total. He must be entertaining to some folks if he’s on tv, but it sure as hell ain’t me. 😋
March 30th, 2021 at 7:52 pm
When it comes to the Bucs or Brady Nick should change his last name to Wrong. K.C. won in less than dominating fashion many times last year but it didn’t change his invincible outlook towards them.GO BUCS !
March 31st, 2021 at 3:49 am
I would rather be in the position the Bucs are currently in than any other team in the NFC or NFL. 2021 will play itself out when it gets here. Why Nick Wright still has a job is the true mystery as he is not head and shoulders above anyone and isn’t very good or entertaining at his job.
