“You Guys Better Find A Way”

February 13th, 2021

In the middle of it.

Hopefully, we will all live long enough to hear Shaq Barrett, Devin White and Antoine Winfield tell old Bucs stories like this.

In a recent episode of “The Rich Eisen Show,” the heart of the Bucs’ glory-years defense  — Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks and John Lynch — soon to all regroup on the same team when Lynch is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer, appeared (virtually) to swap Bucs stories.

When Sapp would lose his focus about something or another during his playing days, it seems Brooks or Lynch or sometimes both who would pull Sapp aside and get his mind right.

Once, however, the tag-team didn’t work and they both went to Father Dungy. There, Lynch even suggested perhaps Sapp needed to sit out some plays or maybe a game to get his attention.

You can enjoy Brooks and Lynch’s description of Father Dungy’s response in the video below. The best part of the video is Sapp’s reaction. He said he had no knowledge of the incident(s) surrounding the story.

As we all know, whatever the issue was, it was all worked out somehow.

How can anyone read John (traitor) Lynch’s Twitter name and still support him? Dude was a cheap shot artist who would be permanently suspended from the game today. Plus to make matters worse he isn’t even a true Buc anymore . His allegiance is with another team! TRAITOR!!!!

  2. Drunkinybor Says:

What the hell are you talking about? Idiot

  3. Drunkinybor Says:

We are all dumber for reading your take. I could take it down point by point. But something tells me I would be wasting my time.

How can anyone read John (traitor) Lynch’s Twitter name and still support him?

The guy is being paid millions to run a team, the 49ers. Is he supposed to resign and take (at least) a $900,000 a year paycut because someone is triggered on the internet that his playing days are over?

  5. Pablo Says:

Pablo it doesn’t understand why yes San Francisco 49ers and his user name but he played for Tampa Bayand Denver ????? Pablo no longer likes John Lynch

  6. #1bucsfan Says:

Let the haters hate. Still to this day he’s my favorite player. Loved watching him lay bone crushing hits. Hope Whitehead turns out to be like him

  8. tbbucs3 Says:

Im just so glad the Bucs dont have to only cling onto that 03 superbowl anymore.

Granted, once Brady leaves we will likely turn into a dumpster fire again so lets go all in now!

    Exactly.

I watched a Bucs practice in the late 90s. You could stand in the parking lot and watch the players walk through to the field. They all looked huge to me but I’ve guy stood out. Sapp. The way he walked looked like a man who was about to explode. I was afraid of him. It was just scary how the dude carried himself. I know I wasn’t in any actual danger, but there was something about him that made him different. It’s what made him such an unreal player. Relentless. Furious. Just a total badass on the field. Great story.

    That’s hilarious!

  12. Drunkinybor Says:

@ homerSimpson I remember meeting a ton of players during the Gasparilla parade.Way back in the late 80s it was awesome 😎 damn I miss Fla.

  13. Buc believer Says:

Some people type things that I’m sure they don’t even believe just to see how far they can push people. Great example is the first post. There is no way anyone cold believe that. They were seeking a reaction.

  14. Kentucky Buc Says:

Reminiscent of Belichek telling Parcels that Lawrence Taylor was late for a meeting . Parcels asked Belichek why he was starting the meeting without him.

  15. Bird Says:

    Speaking of dominant players

I tried to find defensive player with most tackles and sacks in a year
    Not easy to find
Any other stats joes i could not find? Or other defensive player

Ray lewis had a year with 184 combined tackles but only 4 sacks

Devin white this year had 140 combined tackles and 9 sacks and he missed a game on top of that
So he is in discussion for best year
    —-

    Check out lavonte 2013 year
145 tackles and 7 sacks (plus he had 5 picks)
Adding all up that may be best ever combines tackles / sacks/ ints

    Great story

  17. 1sparkybuc Says:

The traitor was Jon Gruden. John Lynch and Warren Sapp should NEVER have played for any other team.

  18. 1sparkybuc Says:

Question…. John Lynch was called a traitor because his career didn’t begin and end with the Bucs. I would guess the same could be said for Warren Sapp. My contention is that Gruden didn’t want to keep them, and that he was the real traitor. That’s my opinion. No cussing. Nothing out of line. Just an opinion. Why was this deleted?

Is everything I post under moderation today?

  20. Buc1987 Says:

    Some fans are so idiotic.

  21. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Lynch played with an uncontrolled desire to send a message to all opponents that he would knock them out , and he literally did just that to his own brother in law John Allred TE for the Bears. 47 had a nickname with his teammates , he was called “Friendly Fire” due to the fact that if you were engaged on a ball carrier , you better hope the “Human Missile” John Lynch was not getting ready to explode on you. Great player who played much bigger than his size.

  22. unbelievable Says:

    ^ truth

  23. Lokog Says:

It would’ve been nice if all those 3 had come back the following season and defended the title

  24. rrsrq Says:

That was great, reminds me of the story of Jimmy Johnson when Erik Williams was late for a team meeting at the Super Bowl, Jimmy says you know the rules, if you miss a meeting or you are late, you don’t play, but this game Jimmy said, “I ain’t no fool”

  25. stvcl Says:

That put a smile of remembrance on this old mug. Great story.

  26. David Says:

    Awesome story. LoL.

So glad they are all in the HOF now.
I need to start campaigning for Barber and Rice
