Vincent Jackson Family Information Differs From Hillsborough County Sheriff
February 18th, 2021Yesterday Joe brought word that Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister claimed the autopsy of former Bucs receiver Vincent Jackson was completed.
Chronister added on local radio that the autopsy report would be released later Wednesday.
Well, as of 5 a.m. this morning, Thursday, there is still no report. And information that Jackson’s family provided TMZ last night suggests the autopsy won’t be released for “weeks.”
Chronister said Jackson suffered from “chronic alcoholism” and speculated Jackson may have had CTE symptoms. CTE is a neurodegenerative disease linked to repeated head trauma.
Below is what TMZ filed last night after reaching out to Jackson’s family.
Seems the Sheriff may have jumped the gun by announcing the autopsy results on Wednesday — because a rep for Jackson’s family says they were told the official autopsy report will not be completed for weeks.
Here’s the statement from the Jackson family — “The official autopsy of Vincent Jackson has not been completed and the family has been told the full autopsy report will not be available for weeks.”
So, why did the Sheriff publicly claim alcohol was a factor before the report was complete? That’s unclear … but we’re told other officials working the case were also baffled by his decision to reveal the information before the autopsy is formally completed.
Now what Jackson’s family refers to as the autopsy, Joe isn’t sure if they also mean the toxicology report, which can take weeks and would help determine what led to Jackson’s death.
Jackson, who lives in South Tampa, had checked into a hotel in Brandon in January and it is there that a hotel employee found him unresponsive on Monday.

I thought it was weird he would comment so soon before the autopsy too. I’ve never seen them release an autopsy in under two weeks. If it is alcohol, it will get you sooner than later if you drink alot, often. RIP big man. 🙏

Pretty odd that someone who lives in South Tampa was staying at a Brandon Homesuites since January.

While we all love the background information on this, da Sherriff has jumped the gun in general in this story. Of course this is moving way too fast for the grieving family. I can’t wait RIP VJ.. so so sad he internalized his troubles.
There is excellent compassionate help out there by those that have been down the very same road

The kicker was the fact that he was isolated from his family at a hotel. This leads me to believe that their was a domestic problem and he “Got out of the house”. While isolated anything can happen.
It feels like the family might be positioning themselves for a CTE law suit. Personally I don’t buy the CTE excuse. Because if it were true guys like Emmitt Smith (Long NFL career taking hits)would be serial killers by know.
It appears that Vincent Jackson was alone in the hotel room so we may never know the reasons why.

To all of the amateur Sherlock Holmes/Columbo/Matlock wannabes out there, give it a rest. You don’t know. Since you don’t know, don’t dishonor the man with your theories.
To all the people who think death is somehow funny (tmaxcon, Alvin, and Duemig IH), I hope you’re either 12 years old and don’t know any better yet, or you get the help you need.

What the hell is wrong with this Sheriff? Does he think he’s a celebrity? Be the Sheriff. STFU

Joe,
I am just so thankful that you have so many arm chair medical examiners as readers here. Really clears things up!

The Sherriff is a prima donna who loves to see himself on Television. That is why he was so prominent on the Bucs Boat Parade. Why he took it upon himself to go on that rag of a show to talk about VJ and say the things he did is beyond disrespectful to VJ, his family and the Bucs family.

you can see scarred liver and other physical side effects of alcoholism WAY before you get back some of those toxicology and other tests.
and that is what he reported- self servingly, in my state sherrif is a politician, not a true LEO, perhaps that is what motivates his decisions.
Same as if some other person, died of lung cancer, and they reported damaged lungs from years of smoking. (While publicly advocating that it is ‘cool’ and never hurts anyone… and that smokers should be given the congressional medal of honor instead of being told that smoking is bad for you) the physical damage to the lungs would be much more apparent very early on than the damage his propaganda had for years on the national culture.
(at this point i just think its funny, lets see if you catch this one @joe haha not triggered at all just enjoy rustling some snowflakes)

@ shannon
Stfu. You are an idiot. Your theory is because emmitt smith does not have cte, jackson couldnt have it? Im sorry but u are a dumb @$$. Newsflash, everyone who smokes dont get lung cancer. Everyone who has sex does not get a STD. CTE is a possibility when playing football for years but not a guarantee. Stop being stupid.

what webster said is true.
There is not always DIRECT correlation between how hard you hit your head and how bad the effects are from the concussion.
I had post-concussive syndrome for 9 months or so, after slipping on some ice and hitting it on the asphalt in the parking lot. not a car wreck or anything. the brain is funny and and can effect you in unexpected ways.

Very odd to have an autopsy so quickly especially in COVID times. These things usually take at least a month
February 18th, 2021 at 10:33 am
The one part of the intial report that really hurt was it said he had been living in a motel for a month. Can only imagine the hurt and pain he was going thru. What a truly good man V jax was and I hope he felt the love we all had for him.
February 18th, 2021 at 10:54 am
Have some loose connections and as soon as the news broke, word was that VJax was (sadly) going through a “Leaving Las Vegas” type situation toward the end.

It is very rare for 38 year old former NFL athletes to die of natural causes. Whatever the cause it is very sad that things ended this way for him. I was a big fan of his.

Tragic regardless.
February 18th, 2021 at 12:27 pm
Well said, Joe.
Regardless of how, it’s a shame.

Keep your gun in your holster Sheriff. Medical Science will not lie. Give it time.

My brother drank himself to death last year. How did I know? There were 32 empty half gallon bottles of liquor laying around him.
According to family members, he died from Covid. They think there will be a big check coming in the future.
According to the police, he died from Covid, because nobody questions that and it adds to the Liberal narrative.
According to the coroner, he died from Covid, that way he didn’t have to leave his desk and it feeds the statistics.
How am I so positive the Alcohol killed him? His doctor told him after he almost died from liver disease that his next drink might kill him.
How was the sheriff so sure that that alcohol killed VJ? He probably heard what was at the crime scene. RIP VJ

my god that is a stupid take.
if your brother had gotten hit by a train would the same reasoning apply?
If he had covid (tested positive) and died as a result of a complication of covid that is what killed him.
Even if the drinking made his liver so weak, that the slightest infection would have done it, the infection is inciting event.
that is how medical statistics are ALWAYS charted. no conspiracy needed.

think of a drunk man standing on the edge of a cliff.
and a man pushes him with one finger.
the alcohol hurt his balance, and was probably why he was standing there.
but the man who pushed him is the cause of death.
