Jordan Whitehead Also Has A Knee Injury

February 11th, 2021

When the bone-crushing warrior of the Bucs secondary returns to the field in four to six months (his timetable) following surgery next week, he’ll be coming back from two injuries.

Jordan Whitehead told SiriusXM NFL Radio about how he tested the torn labrum in his dislocated shoulder after the NFC Championship game and soon after realized he could handle the pain to play in the Super Bowl. On went the left-shoulder harness and he gutted out the game and played well.

But Whitehead also told host Alex Marvez this week that he was dealing with “a little ACL sprain earlier in the playoffs” and that must heal, too.

“A little ACL sprain,” … what a beast Whitehead is.

And he was pushing through the bad knee before the Packers game, Joe has since learned.

It’s wild for Joe think that the Bucs secondary, perhaps the least expensive in the NFL, is returning next season. All these young guys will be steaming with confidence and should continue to develop.

The growth in this secondary this year has been remarkable. The toughness of SMB, Carlton Davis and Jordan Whitehead is not to be questioned.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery, Mr. Whitehead.

These guys are going to be legendary.

A warrior if he played through all of that. Amazing he didn’t do more damage by continuing to play hurt. You have to be careful with what you do to your body when you are young, injuries are like when a car part goes bad it can lead to other parts going bad. Be careful Jordan. GO BUCS!!!!

  3. Hodad Says:

Well with four playoff wins, including NFC Champs, S.B.25 champs, we can’t call them inexperienced anymore. Good young group, that now has learned what they’re doing. Being young was never an excuse, and this secondary proved it.

those guys really stepped up! would not have gotten to or won SB w/o them……and I/we owe TB an apology….he had great game plans.

those guys were nasty though. I have no idea how the heck our two LB covered the middle of the field with the corners playing so deep. simply amazing…instincts and skills and speed. the whole defense stepped up. Man we owe them this one as much as Brady’s leadership.

and Winfield….yeah baby, flash that sign (after the game is one though) 🙂

This team has really become close and they learned a lot this season abour winning, accountability, discipline and toughness. With a season together and hopefully a normal off season, our Bucs are going to terrorize the NFL next season. I can’t wait. Gonna be even morw fun than this growing pains season that still led to being world champs.

What an awesome team that has been assembled.

The Realist prbly goes by a different name now, prbly a different email too lol too ashamed to come back with any smart remarks, shame…

Stories like this become legend when you win the Super Bowl.

Man, thisbdude is a warrior. Hope we can keep all the pieces together, cause a lot of the players are young! I want to keep the homegrown players first. Reward those you drafted and the gems you took a chance on (barret and godwin). The rest of em, if they want to stay and ride this for another year on team friendly deals then cool. If not, bye.

  11. Cainishere Says:

Look folks. I have a sneaky suspicion as to who the Realist truly is and if I am correct he is not gone he is just dealing with some serious real life issues that must receive his full attention. Go BUCS!!!!

  12. DaBux Says:

    Stud.

Whitehead with Winfield means the back end of the defense is set for years to come.

  13. OBF Says:

Words cannot describe how tough these guys are

  14. Mike C Says:

What are you talking about Cainishere?

  15. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

Agreed Joseph….our DB’s, very recently viewed as the weakest area of the D is going to be insane good with a normal camp…In the immortal words of Bart Scott…”Can’t wait!!!”

    What a legend

  17. BuccoDav Says:

Guys like Realist and Ndog probably always had alternate screen names and played Bucs supporter and Devils’ advocate all along.

  18. Brandon Says:

Best young six in the league and it isn’t even close. Maybe best three CBs… maybe best three safeties. This is one of the best secondaries in the NFL.

  19. Brandon Says:

Yall sleeping on Edwards. He might be our best safety against the pass. He may push Winfield fo SS…. it is hard to keep Edwards off the field.

  20. OBF Says:

Isn’t there a good DB with a bum wheel that was on IR the whole year? Is he still a Buc? I can remember his name

  21. Tom Sumner Says:

    TB12 HAS A GREAT DOCTOR!!
