Gerald McCoy Joined Bucs Postgame Celebration, Explains Why Bucs Will Shock The World

The Bucs have added male cheerleaders in recent years, and there’s one more dude out there who could get the job done.
Joe’s not sure there’s a bigger Bucs fan this month than Gerald McCoy. He’s always loving his team on social media and seemingly everywhere else he can.
On NFL Network this week, McCoy even said that he was included in the Bucs’ locker room celebration in Green Bay (virtually, of course) thanks to his loving and appreciative former teammates.
As for the Bucs’ prospects against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, McCoy is all-in.
He called Ndamukong Suh a true Hall of Famer, and with Suh teamed with Vita Vea, McCoy is calling for the Bucs to “collapse the pocket” with a fury. Of course, as a six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle, McCoy is focused on the Bucs getting a huge edge from its defensive front.
McCoy is hoping/thinking that Vea will bring the juice that only he can at 6-4, 350 pounds.
“Vita, man, he’s one of those people that he don’t even really realize how good he can be,” McCoy said.
“He’s one of those people; if he doesn’t want to stop moving forward, he’s not going to stop moving forward. He just has to hone in on that and figure out who he is. … He’s starting to figure it out. You know, he doesn’t get moved in the run game and he’s always disruptive in the run game. Once he hones in on the type of pass rusher he can be, he’s going to be one of the best in the league. He’s already working his way into that.”
The Bucs will win the Super Bowl by 10 points, McCoy says. Why? Tampa Bay is hungrier “with a different type of grit” and more urgency.
“The window is now,” McCoy said.

I don’t hate the guy… think he is a great talent.
But just seems like one of those types in a team environment (sports or business) that is always in a great mood, always willing to chat it up etc. etc.

I always like McCoy and always defended McCoy. Way better than a lot of the fans here ever gave him credit for.
He never really played with good edge rushers and he never really had a dominant nose tackle.
He would’ve been an awesome inside pass rush to add to this D-line.
But he is correct. Vita Vea is the man in the middle that takes this defense from being good to being great.
He helps the other DT ‘s, it helps the edge rusher‘s, it frees up Devon White.
The pass rush gets more pressure because he’s taking up a guard and the center and STILL collapsing the pocket.
That in turn helps the DBs because the quarterback can’t hold the ball is long.
Look back at some great defenses, dominant DTs usually a commonality and the Buccaneers have a great one in the making.

I agree with him about Vea.
An extra two-weeks after his first action in four months will help him be even more dominant.
If Suh & Vea have monster games and push the OL into Mahomes, Bucs win. It all boils down to those two.

Gerald’s last statement is spot on. I too think the Bucs are a grittier team and are more scrappy than the Chiefs. The Chiefs are an instance talent that seems to get by with their talent. The Bucs want this more and I think they pull out a win, I didn’t at first think we would win, but the closer this game gets the more I feel like it’s an upset getting ready to happen.

No offense to anyone, but i want this tissue soft “leader” to stay as far away from this team as possible.
His passive personality infected every team he was on and worked like cancer to destroy them from the inside out.
Mr. McCoy, please do not sniff around this or any successful Bucs team. You had your chance to be on one of your own but you chose not to bring the toughness and attitude required for NFL success.

I second what Davenport said. McCoy is a publicity hound with a lowered mentality. Brady would have never accepted his dancing and laughing on the sidelines while down 3 touchdowns. Just having fun. The only season McCoy didn’t enjoy was his only 10 win season. Loser

I appreciate that GMC still loves the Bucs. I agree that Vea is just scratching the surface on his potential, and I do believe the Bucs are going to win this game by double digit points.
