Protect The Ball!

January 24th, 2021

Turnover trend.

Now this isn’t a stretch because we hear the cliché over and over and over so much it is like an 11th Commandment.

Brian Baldinger of NFL Network believes he has found a trend. And the trend belongs to the 2020 version of park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

So basically, if this trend is consistent, if Brady has a turnover Bucs fans in unison should be chewing their fingernails?

Joe isn’t so sure the Packers are going to play Santa Claus like Drew Brees did last week. But hey, if the Bucs can get pressure on Aaron Rodgers, who knows?

If Shaq wants to get paid….he needs a big,big game…..

In addition to Brady’s numbers, looking at Rodgers and so few INTs but with 2 in the loss to the Bucs earlier, reinforces “take care of the football” is NOT a cliche, but instead is a basic principle of the game. Even Brady’s 1 INT over the stretch was due to a rookie deflecting a ball that should have been a catch in incompletion. Brady at the helm, passing for fewer yards but WAY fewer turnovers (INTs as well as fumbles) has easily made a difference in 3-5 wins for the regular season. “Take care of the ball” is one solid reason the Bucs are here in January. Yup, a basic rule. Today? The hard hits of White, the long arms of JPP, and disruption of Suh, and the surgical hands of Shaq…oh yeah, that’s worth a turnover or two by Rodgers and team.

1st turnover will be a Devin White strip-sack. LFG!

It’s a must, cold ground, slippery conditions and smooth footballs all cause turnovers. This is where GB has the advantage playing in those elements. The kicking game is also a concern, Succop not used to this type of weather either. This is no walk in the park. GB has beaten, LA, Indy, Tenn, Bears and NO all really good teams. That being said there is one PO team that beat GB and that’s the BUCS. GO BUCS, game day!

Two things I’m amazed at today!
    1. I haven’t even thought about the draft or who might
    be available when we pick.
    2. While I recognize the possibility that we could lose
today, I fully expect to win.

    Definitely entering uncharted territory here.
    Go Bucs!

We shall run our way to the Super Bowl to Tompa Stadium. The running game is our offensive weapon. It makes the Brady Magic happen.

    Let’s Go!!!!!!!

Lots of new territory here, in records alone. The Packers are on a 7-game winning streak, certainly not like their 19 game streak as longest in NFL history, or Brady’s 18 game streak with the Patriots–but stil a streak. But the Bucs are on a 7-game road streak, their longest in history, and 6 games overall, tied for the longest. A Bucs win today is a new record for them. And why not? More new ground is win today and they play the Super Bowl at home for the first time in NFL history. Win today and they take out another HoF QB at home in the playoffs. While I fear Rodgers over a hobbled Brees, I do not fear the Packers D nearly as much as I did the Saints D, which was playing well and was very healthy last week. There is no snow at game time today, and the field is heated, so it won’t be frozen. It’s been frozen all week so they likey managed it to not be slushy either. 29 degrees at game time, but cloudy to clearing throughout the game. The weather and Rodgers were the only things I worried about. Now, both a manageable. Biggest worry is 10mph win. Can Brady keep with Rodgers? Yup. Let’s hope the wind is straight at Succups back when it counts. Final note: The Bucs would have easily got a TD at the end of last week to win by 17 points on that defense. They quit playing out of sportsmanship when on a deep drive and two minutes to go to win by 10.

as a career fan of Tompa Bay, I am assuming you aren’t. If you was a big fan of Tompa you’d know to take all the stats out in Jan and Feb. There is 2 Bradys. ALL QB’s odds decrease the more turnovers they have. Based on your math, the Bucs should have been 0-16 with JW. If Tom throws an int, there is NO DOUBT he will put it out of his mind. JW’a answer? throw another one. The sun will shine today even in Miami

I am not expecting TOs by Rogers or Brady. Maybe one between the two. BUT, I am expecting the Bucs superior Oline and run game to play ball control and keep Rogers off the field – thus, limiting the Packers opportunities. The one glaring weakness between the two teams is the Pack’s run defense.

The GB run D and Bucs Oline propels the Bucs to a win in a close game.

  13. Youngbucs Says:

But but but turnovers don’t matter the team sucks. The online sucks the defense sucks the rbs suck the kicker sucks. The owners suck the coaches suck the whole organization sucks but turnovers don’t matter. These 🤡 have slowly stop showing their faces around here all season.

  14. SteveK Says:

    This is exciting.

We need to impose our will and run the ball on offense. Take it right to them. And utilize matchups of what the defense is inviting our offense to do: run vs pass.

And from there, I would stop the run and stuff them on Defense.

Go play 60 minutes of hard nosed football and let the chips fall where they fall. It’s time for our Bucs to shine.

Getting Vita Vea back is monumental. He’s a force and our whole defense gets to eat a little more bc the big man takes two linemen more often than not.

Go Bucs! Feed Fournette and RoJo, and stuff the running game. Pound the pack and dictate our game to them.

Brady threw 2 picks in Seattle SB,#1 def 1 in
against Rams #1 O&D and a pick 6 in Atlanta SB against #1 offense and league MVP Matt Ryan. All were wins. Same challenge today I smell a victory.

Tampabaybucfan …… I like the way you think sir. If Barrett does not show up which he hasn’t since the Minnesota game, he’ll be leaving a lot of money on any table he approaches

  17. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Ha!! He had three when they got greedy but this defense just played lights out!! Defense wins championships… I can believe the day Barrett and JPP had… Still hard to believe they played that well after not showing up all playoffs….. What a game
