Nimble Tom Brady

January 4th, 2021

It was a big surprise to Joe to witness the following.

Joe is not a Belicheats fan whatsoever. Joe could probably count how many Belicheats games he’s seen in 20 years on one hand. There have been Super Bowls that Joe never watched live because the Belicheats were in the game. And that’s the honest truth.

So when Joe went to Bucs training camp in August and got a first good look at park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, two things jumped out:

The first was just how dang accurate Brady was. It was stunning to see. Throw after throw after throw was near perfect for the receiver to catch. Joe knew at that time he was watching a different cat at quarterback.

The other element was Brady was often running (or more like jogging) out of the pocket. “Wait a minute?” Joe thought to himself. Wasn’t Brady supposed to be as stationary as a flagpole? What’s this “nimble” mobility?

Joe wrote exactly the word “nimble.” Then, a week later when NBC Sports authority Peter King arrived, he too wrote how “nimble” Brady looked.

We saw that yesterday when Brady was flushed out of the pocket and he rolled right and hit furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing wide receiver Antonio Brown who made a sick catch for one of his two touchdowns.

NextGen stats documents that Brady’s roll out pass was so rare, it had a 34.2 percent chance of succeeding.

Joe has learned something over the past five months when it comes to this Brady: Never, ever doubt Brady.

This guy, even at 43, really is the ish.

I am excited for the playoffs!! I hope they win but I really hope the Bucs blow out the Washington football team. It is time for Nick Wright to eat massive crow ( he already has called this the biggest upset of the weekend) and because coming off the field Chase Young was skipping and screaming “ I want Tom Brady.” I hope Chase enjoys meeting Tom after he throws 350 yards and 4 TD’s on their defense.

I wonder what “Joewashingtonfootballteamfan” fans are saying…..

I’ll bet they are worried about the Bucs offense….despite their defense….

Somehow, I think our defense will show up Saturday night….

  4. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Could someone explain to me why the Bucs so often have two receivers end up in the same location where the ball is thrown? Is this intentional, and for what benefit? I see the Bucs do this quite often. IMO, you are best off spreading out the defenders, not bringing defender “help” to the area of the ball. Why would you want to bring a 2nd defender to where the ball is being thrown?

When the Bucs signed TB, this is what they were counting on.. the GOAT peaking at the right time of the year.. leading the Bucs to the promised land!

    Next up Washington!!! GO BUCS!!!!

  7. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

@TBBF, I am not as concerned about the Bucs defense vs the WFT’s offense. More concerned about how we stop the Line. They are wicked, and a bad arse pass rush is definitely TB’s Achilles heel.

    ^^^ *Dline* darn autocorrect

Hey Joe, I see you read my post that you obviously didn’t publish where I called you out for hating everything that was the Patriots when Brady was there. It was about time you came clean on your disgust for Brady before he became a Buc. It was / is so obvious from your posts.
To call Belichick a cheater, you are accusing the entire organization including Brady of being a fraud. Their accomplishments are one. The Patriots never did anything that other teams weren’t doing but just caught videotaping from ground level. Check the recent Tony Dungee interview w/Shannon Sharpe for validation. Brady was accused of deflating balls then went on to win two SuperBowls after the accusation.
People like you Joe are semi-retarded. Low IQ. That is all.

  10. Hawk Says:

    @ Senor Harry.
The play wasn’t designed for both receivers to be in the corner. When Brady scrambled, his receivers are *supposed* to roll with him so he can find them.

  11. Tackleblockwin Says:

Vs Washington we need to get the ball out of Brady’s hands quick and run the ball. We should be fine if we do those two things on offense.

I’m loving the music, Nas in the background TB12 “Made You Look” – is that a subtle message

  13. Cobraboy Says:

I did not understand that play. One of those WR’s ran the wrong route. No way a deep play is designed with two WR’s in the same place…except in a Hail Mary.

  14. Cobraboy Says:

@Señor Harry: if the Bucs cannot effectively neutralize the TFKATWR’s pass rush, this game could get ugly.

Pressure is indeed Brady’s Achille’s Heel. It’s every QB’s AH.

If they can slow the rush, the game could get ugly because the TFKATWR’s offense is not designed for comebacks, and the D Line & Backs could feast.

Great throw even if it was supposed to be for Miller

Highly disagree. Once again, RoJo started off strong and then they once again turned him into a ghost in a very close second half come back before we ran away with it.

Tom is on fire, but that sh!t will not fly in the playoffs. Much better PA when you actually give your 5 yrd avg RB carries.

  17. adam from ny Says:

if they secretly plan to get tom moving and rolling out a bit in the playoffs…

    and it works!!…

we are going to the superbowl…

  19. Coburn Says:

Yeah was such a good throw it could have been a TD for two guys lol… Yeah I also wonder if someone ran the wrong route or perhaps brown improvised there

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    soe

you’ve been hating on BL all season!!!…and he’s made you look foolish all year…

11Ws and the best offense in bucs history back to back years and your still crying….lol….

    once again, stop hating!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  21. Listnfrmafar Says:

I believe it was a designed route for Miller and as mentioned earlier when Brady scrambled AB being the pro he is adjusted his route and pulled away from Scotty to prevent it bouncing bouncing off his forearms. Brady has heard every defensive call out known to man and for a rookie to call him out is just plain stupid. Good luck Young, I think at the end of the game you will be scratching your head in wonder trying to figure out how this old man kicked your ass.

  22. Martha Hastings Says:

Why does Tom not get the credit he so rightly has earned??? If he wins the Superbowl he will still get no respect. Its a shame, he is nothing but a great teammate and automatic Hall of famer Ask anyone who played with him, they love his work ethic, leadership and skill. Say what you want, Tommy will still keep breaking records and proving you little weenies wrong!

  23. REDZONE BA Says:

I admit I was wrong – Brady has surprised me – especially avoiding injury tackles at age 43. Before our first game, I predicted Brady would be out via injury by game 10. I admit I was wrong. Brady has made our O-Line look better than they are, and they are pretty good. After 2 seconds in pocket, he either throws to open WR, or maybe ugly dirt-it passes or out of bounds. No INT’s.

Dude is money. Not sure I consider Brady “nimble” with exception of a play here or there….but the GOAT delivers.
