Now we know why park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady loves Florida so much.

Brady’s getting a license plate. No, really.

Fans of Brady (Bucs fans, Patriots fans and Joe assumes some who just think Brady is just so dreamy), you too can have Tom Brady adorn your rig with a vanity Florida license plate — for a fee.

Brady is a big booster of an organization called “Best Buddies,” which is sort of like a Big Brothers/Big Sisters charity for children with developmental issues.

Our good Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation allowing Best Buddies to have a Florida vanity plate, documents Dan Trujillo WFTS-TV Channel 28.

“With his recent move to Florida, we are incredibly excited to team up with long-time Global Ambassador Tom Brady for the new Best Buddies specialty license plate. Since 2003, Tom has proven himself to be a committed advocate for individuals with disabilities, and we’re grateful that his commitment to our mission-driven initiatives will continue to create friendships, jobs, leadership development training, and inclusive living opportunities for people with special abilities here in the sunshine state,” said Anthony K. Shriver, Founder & CEO of Best Buddies International.

If that name rings a bell with you, it should. Shriver is the brother of former NBC News personality Maria Shriver, and he’s the former brother-in-law of “The Terminator” himself, former California governor and famed action films actor and bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger.

More important, Shriver is the nephew of former president John Kennedy. The Kennedy family for decades has championed the causes of children in need, in particular the Special Olympics.

Per the mission statement of Best Buddies, the organization is:

… dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). … Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
