Happy Ending For Bucs’ Special Teams COVID Scare

December 17th, 2020

Ryan Succop

The Bucs’ kicking unit is all clear to play football after landing inappropriately on the NFL’s COVID-19 reserve list, per a report tonight.

Newspaper beat writer Rick Stroud shared on his Twitter account that kicker Ryan Succop, punter Bradley Pinion and long snapper Zach Triner are off the list thanks to what the NFL considers a false positive test. Apparently, one guy tested positive incorrectly and the others were labeled close contacts.

Bucco Bruce Arians said last night, as Joe reported, that he was hoping for false positives. And his wish came true.

Now Joe’s hoping that the Bucs get the same good news on Ronald Jones, who was placed on the COVID list yesterday.

Yup, got a text about 6:30 pm…was hoping word would come out through other media soon. Makes my evening for sure!

    RoJo? Hmmm…..

Could it be the same for him?

  2. SOEbuc Says:

Nice. Other than the fact RoJo could get sick, I’d prefer to sit for this game cus the finger. His hands are brick already and has his number of fumbles in his career.

  3. Defense Rules Says:

Great news, and I’m sure it’s a huge load off the minds of Succop, Pinion & Triner. And SOEbuc, I’d also prefer that RoJo sit until they can fix that finger.

OK time for the cockeyed optimist to chime in. It’s at least possible my hopes and wishful thinking comes true.

In order to win a championship a LOT has to go right. You have to get LUCK along the way. This team has certainly been fortunate and this is just the latest example.

It all started of course with Tommy Boy. He brought the “Luck of the Irish” with him! He has magic leprechauns sprinkle him with water from the River Boyne.

He has brought his luck with him…Gronk..AB…Fournette…Wirfs turns out to be a true stud for the OL…the D continues it’s improvement.

We have the talent, and so far the LUCK required. They say we learn from our mistakes…I believe this…and that means the Bucs have earned a PhD the first 13 games this season.

I think they are ready to apply the polish these final three games and pity the team that faces the Bucs in the playoffs.

Wishful thinking? Sure. But given the way the breaks have fallen for us so far it’s time to go all Tug McGraw…”Ya gotta believe!”

    Great news!

Mariota lighting it up for the Raiders!
Howard assumes that the Winston/Mariota debate is now over.

Ha ha ha , it is not “a Bucs life” Now it is on to the track meet in Hotlanta on Sunday. GO BUCS!!!!

  9. Costa Rica John Says:

Mariota and Winston have played in such different offenses in their careers. It’s hard to compare the two except for the fact they both were drafted the same year.

  10. Cobraboy Says:

    False positives.

    Again.

  11. ModHairKen Says:

False positives? Sort of describes Jameis’ and Mariota’s careers.

  12. Dr. ClodHopper Says:

    Hallelujah!!!

Cant swing a dead cat without hitting a false positive.

  13. ClodHopper Says:

Do all these false positives stay on the national list? Seeing how that would make the numbers more accurate I’m guessing they’re not removed.

  14. lowercaseg Says:

    Lmfao plandemic false positives.
