Bucs-Killer Out For Sunday

December 18th, 2020

Won’t rise up this weekend.

No receiver in recent memory has torched Bucs defenses on a regular basis like Julio Jones.

The Dixie Chicks receiver is like the modern-day Barry Sanders. A third of Sanders’ highlights came against the Bucs.

A third — if not more — of Jones’ career highlights are against Tampa Bay.

Nothing personified the inept Bucs pass defense of The Smiths Age like Jones being matched up against (pick your favorite rotten corner). It sparked Joe’s famous saying, Jones ran through the Bucs secondary “like a deer gliding through an Illinois cornfield.”

It got to the point that Jones clowned the Bucs so badly fans became ill.

Well, at least for one game, the Bucs won’t have to worry about Jones gouging them. Per Jenna Laine of ESPN, it seems Jones is out for Sunday’s game between the Bucs and the Dixie Chicks.

The Bucs could clinch a playoff berth with a win at Atlanta.

Not having Jones available certainly boosts the odds for the Bucs.

C’mon now, should we rejoice that our oppoent’s start wide receiver is out for Sunday? Is it right to be happy a man is down for a game?

    He11 yeah.

  2. Ant Says:

I don’t remember that saying or it being famous

Welp…if the Bucs do not win this Sunday then don’t get on that plane. Stay in Atlanta

JJ has done that to many many DBs and teams… I remember the draft when the Falcons gave of the house to move up and grab him

  5. PSL Bob Says:

Don’t wish ill on anyone. We’ll have a lot more than Jones to worry about in the playoffs. The next 3 games are tune-ups for the playoffs. So, I’d actually rather see Jones playing.

Did you really just say that? I never thought I would read those words again. Wow. Just…wow.

Sounds like ATL is trying to move up in the draft

  11. Doctor Stroud Says:

Plenty of people on the Falcons coaching staff will have a serious case of schadenfreude, but I predict a Bucs win. That being said, with Julio Jones out, the Bucs defense will make some other unsuspecting late round draft pick scrub WR or TE look like an All World, All Pro, Hall of Famer. We’ll all be exclaiming, “So and so, who?!” That’s what happened last week when Kyle Rudolph was out. Irv Smith, Jr. and Tyler Conklin (yes, who?!) caught everything in sight and looked like the second coming of Dave Casper and Tony Gonzalez. Maybe that was the Bucs game plan?

  12. Cobraboy Says:

Dean back will be a big help vs. the Falconce, JJ or no JJ.

  13. Adam Says:

wait, Jameis is out this weekend?!?!

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

Julip Jones is a very good receiver. Falcons need him against us. This ups our chances greatly.
