Another week, another Bucs player wins NFL honors.
Bucs kicker Ryan Succop, on the heels of kicking four field goals Monday night in the Bucs win over the Giants, was named by the NFL the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
Per the Bucs, Succop’s four field goals tied for the league lead in Week 8, while his 13 points scored tied for the second-most in the NFL.
Succop ranks tied for second among kickers with 71 points, the most in Bucs history through eight games. He has made 15-of-17 field goals this year (88.2 percent). Succop has yet to miss a field goal attempt in 10 tries shorter than 40 yards.
Most underrated pickup this offseason? Joe wouldn’t argue.

Just like you said Joe, he has made kicking boring again, well almost for me lol lol. Just glad to finally have a consistent kicker. As we all know, you are only as good as your weakest link. And he is going to be called on more to make kicks that will decide games. GO BUCS!!!!!

Succop has missed 3 kicks all year & 2 of them were blocked…..he won the Giants game…..IMO…..

It’s nice to know what it is like to have a competent NFL kicker. The Bucs have been the worst at kicking field goals in the NFL over the past six years until this year.
