“Hopefully His Pitch Count Goes Down”

November 11th, 2020

More bench time

Someone very powerful at One Buc Palace wants to see less of Antonio Brown on the football field Sunday as the Bucs travel to play the 3-6, losers-of-four-straight Carolina Panthers.

And that power broker is Bucco Bruce Arians.

The head coach said on his Buccaneers.com show yesterday that Tom Brady dropping back to pass 40 times against the Saints and Brown playing 39 snaps like he did Sunday is not the winning formula being cooked up in the lab..

“His pitch count was a little higher than we anticipated, “Arians said of Brown’s debut. “But we tried to go two-minute early in the ballgame just to get some life, so his pitch count was up a little bit. But he handled it really, really well.

“…He did everything he needed to do to play well in that ballgame. The guys embraced him. They all helped him. And nobody works any harder than him on the practice field, so that was easy.

Asked whether he wants or expects to see Brown play more Sunday, Arians said he wants the opposite.

“I’m hoping we’re not throwing the ball that much this next week, so hopefully his pitch count goes down,” Arians said.

Chris Godwin led Bucs receivers in playing time against the Saints by taking 94 percent of the snaps. Not bad for a guy who had finger surgery less than two weeks prior. Arians also praised Tyler Johnson’s play against New Orleans and don’t forget Tom Brady’s former BFF, Scotty Miller, and the tight end weapons.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Bucs use Brown on Sunday, and if he’s happy about it after the game.

Wow, so lovely we can help the downtrodden and under privileged. Looks like the same garbage said by some after #3 came off his suspension. And I was just beaming with love when AB proclaimed in a video clip that he’s had problems and was undergoing anger management counseling and is a “good person” now.

    Not.

bashing AB makes you feel better…lol…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  3. Chris Says:

ABs presence is definitely a locker room disruptor. I don’t care how they say it. He doesn’t belong here. Johnson and Miller are developing nicely and playing well so you go ahead and demote them.

    Great job glazers!

  4. Robert Says:

4 wide pats offense and we kill opponents. this bunch formation with obvious targets to Gronk needs to be thrown out the window!

  5. Simeon Says:

Joe, can you run a poll about fan feelings on ab?

If Brady has to throw the ball down field, the Sucs are going to lose. Throw the ball three to four yards and they have a chance. Tom Brady’s arm and Bruce Arians’ offensive system is like oil and water. Brady cannot do it; Arians will not change. I see disaster on the horizon

    More BS.

  8. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

BA has the BS on a hall of fame level; this guy is great with this stuff now only if he could coach as well as he Bs’s

  9. unbelievable Says:

Sadly he was the best player on the field for the Bucs that night.

Which speaks volumes about this team’s coaches, coordinators, and overall leadership.

    39 snaps?

Ridiculous. Insulting to our wrs corps.

    Dude is a bum.

  11. DRFEELGOOD Says:

AB didn’t let Brees stand unpressured in the pocket, let the Saints WRs run unchallenged through our secondary, allow Taysom Hill to look like Steve Young, make Gronk drop a TD, allow the Saints DL to look All World. If you think his presence caused that piss poor performance, then you’re just a hater. If you don’t like the man, I get it. But to imply that his presence caused the loss because he disrupts a locker room? Come the f%ck on guys. AB could’ve been in Brazil and we would’ve had the same outcome. And he sure as hell wasn’t the reason we looked like open ass against New York.

Bruce is flat out wrong! First he shades Brady then AB with comments of using AB less? WTF he was the only one reating distance from coverage or adjusting his routes!Use him more until the others work harder. Evans was a double team effort most of the night with him doing little to change it up, Godwin looked ons better with effort than Evans.
The defense did nothing, Suh was the surprising effort leader on D. The offensive line was flat and looked overwhelmed all night and then we watch both the O and D lines start getting stupid again with penalties, lucky for us the game was almost over when they both flat out quit. I’m afraid to say the old Buccs players that have been there for 3-5 years think they are entitled and need someone to be traded to get their attention, they are slackers not winners!

Born and raised in Tampa in Sulpher Springs. Im 66. Andy Hardy Salty Sol and Valencia Gardens. Real Devil Crabs, not the crap they sell now. Was at the Miami game first year. Worked fir the franchise co. that took visiting teams equipment to the stadium.Somehow my boss got two of us pulling nets up for xtra points and field goals. Closing minutes we are up, maybe winning first game. I believe it was Miami coming down to kick a field goal. I was so into the game my friend pulled his end of the net up but I forgot to. They were screaming at me so I grabbed the rope or chain or whatever it was and got the net up just as the football hit it. Fg good. We lose. Wish there was footage of that. I would love to have a copy.

As far as Criticizing Brady, Donovan Smith is a damn matador waving the DE towards Brady on every play. He is NOT good. Brady was sacked, hurried and harrassed into throwing to early all game. They show brown and evans open, but that developed after he had already let the ball go early. Not his fault. Nrees on the other hand wasnt even breathed on. He showed you what a great one can do when given time. Brady is great, the greatest, and can do that to given time. He wasnt. Our front line needs to pressure brees, knock him off his spot. You whippersnappers dont even realize we have never had it this good offensively before. Find a left tackle fir Gods sake. And get off Bradys ass. Brown is doing fine and will continue to. How many second chances have you perfect critics had. Yeah. I thought so. Shaddup!
