Heroic Effort From Jason Pierre-Paul
November 24th, 2020Months ago, Bucs fans fantasized of unsung Buccaneers rising up in big prime time games to earn accolades from fans and media across the country.
On that front, Jason Pierre-Paul got the job done last night with an interception and key third-down batted pass in the second half, when the Bucs defense clamped down on the Rams only to watch Tom Brady waste the opportunities.
JPP also was active all night, chasing down plays and being his usual animal-motor self.
Joe often said a key goal of this season was to keep JPP healthy for the stretch run in December. Though he was limping a little on the field last night, that’s nothing too out of the ordinary for JPP. Overall, he looks revived after an October lull, and it’s especially encouraging with the Bucs’ bye week waiting for the after Sunday’s clash with the Chiefs.
Joe hopes JPP locked up some Pro Bowl votes with his play last night. He and Lavonte David might be the only two Bucs defenders who impressed the nation, though Joe suspects Jordan Whitehead made some new fans, as well.

JPP deserves better.
Mike Evans deserves better.
Chris Godwin deserves better.
Us fans deserve better.
Arians and Brady are washed up and Leftwich is out of his element. They literally can not beat a decent defense.

Interception was nice….but would like to see a sack or two..
Looks like Shaq won’t get a big payday…..

This defense is full of tough cats.
Problem is, the front seven is older and there is no real young, quality depth for the Line & Edge.
Suh and Barrett are UFAs in 2021… I love Suh and would love to see him back. Barrett hasn’t done anything this year of note besides jumping offsides on a regular basis. Not sure if Shaq is back in 2021 – good call franchising him because he’s not the same edge threat he was last year.
JPP is under contract I believe, but he’s only got so much left.
Gholston is a good not great player, probably over paid.
Vea is the only stud under 30, under contract next year.
Jason Licht has totally neglected the trenches in the draft on defense and it’s showing.

We seriously get very little pass rush without bringing some extra men. Need to address that in the off season along with oline. Heck not just starters but depth. Won’t be happy without at least 3 trench players. Add in some free agent depth

Starting to worry about Dean and SMB too…
We’re 7-4 with five games left and even with an extra wild card spot, the playoffs are no guarantee.
The Bears and Rams losses really hurt.
#Lichtmyb*lls and BA went all in this year.
I’m kinda worried, playoffs or not, what next year is going to look like.

How do you have a qb throw 51 times and the d never even lays a hand on him. How the hell is that even possible?
November 24th, 2020 at 7:35 am
JPP had a great game last, really impressive to watch him do everything last night. Shaq isn’t doing anything and without Vea, Suh is getting blown up with double teams.
Joe, you’re gonna have to ask JPP if all the diamonds in his mouth are used to blind the offensive line? $100k in his mouth?

Those saying Shaq has done ‘nothing’ don’t watch tape.

JPP? You mean that guy with the winning attitude Ira Kaufman wanted to cut a year ago? This is Tampa, we do everything our power to get rid of guys like that. What happened here?

“Heroic”…. let’s save that word for the real heroes like first responders and military. Football players are paid gazillions of dollars to play a kids game while being worshipped all their lives and getting all the chicks they desire.
