unbelievable – Vita wasn’t making any difference with the pass rush, the team wasn’t getting pressure if they didn’t blitz all year, but that’s what playing a 3-4 generally means, you have to bring pressure if you want to get pressure. If you want to sit in a zone then you should run a 4-3 and have great end rushers and someone in the middle who can do more than stop the run.

This is how we should be using Brown, at least for now, this short, quick, passing game outlet is what we’ve been missing on offense. Yes, Godwin can sort of do this as well, but Brown is really quick and excellent at making space. Do this short stuff for a bit, then when he’s in man-to-man, you pivot and go deep. But this is the missing piece in the offense, if Brown can do this, keep the pressure away from Brady, it opens up everything else.

The 2 long pass interference penalties called on the Rams have really saved our offense tonight. Those were HUGE, as was that deep pass that was dropped instead of being an INT.
Of course the 2 penalties near the end zone against our defense were HUGE also. Might’ve been able to hold them to a FG on those.

One thing I was worried about at the beginning of this year was a consistent pass rush. The last few weeks the pass rush has been really lacking. Teams are picking up the blitz, they are blitzing a lot less, and JPP and Shaq have been lacking

Man this young secondary has a lot of talent but they leave a lot of stuff wide open in the middle of the field. I played cornerback in college, and it looks to me like a lot of them don’t really know how to play zone.
I get the two deep zone with linebackers dropping and there’s usually a seam that’s open in the middle but they leave it wide the hell open.
It’s really pretty simple when you have a zone to cover. You still cover the man in the zone, you’re not supposed to stand there and wait to react.
If there’s more than one, you need to cover the one that will do the most damage.
Too often some of those wide-open because they’re standing around the middle of the zone reacting instead of trying to force the issue.
The other thing… for god sake’s get some pressure!!!!
