Brown And Godwin At Practice

November 4th, 2020

Update.

For the first time Joe can remember, there was a pool report for a Bucs viewing window at a regular season practice.

This is what can happen when your team is really, really popular.

A “pool report” is often used when there is a huge group of reporters wanting the same thing. The “pool” is often one person getting permission to watch/participate in an event and then he/she files a report for everyone to use.

This is generally done for Super Bowl practices o r speaking to a referee after a game for clarification of a call.

For a regular-season practice, Joe cannot ever remember seeing the Bucs resort to a pool report. Then again, only scant reporters have access to practice due to NFL restrictions because of The Sickness, especially when they are indoors like today’s Bucs walk-through. Remember, reporters are only allowed to view a small portion of a regular-season practice, generally the first 20 or 30 minutes. That is when the team does stretching and maybe some individual drills.

Then, you are hustled off the field. So generally, reporters only get to see what coaches want you to see, which is nothing at all.

So today’s nothing was that new receiver Antonio Brown and old receiver Chris Godwin were at practice running on the sidelines. Godwin still had his hand in a cast.

Some will suggest the story here is Brown (right Steve Levy?). Joe will argue the story here is Godwin still has a hand in a cast after having surgery to repair a broken finger suffered in the win over the Raiders.

Joe thanks whoever served as today’s pool reporter. His/her name was not released by the Bucs.

Just saw most of Browns press conference. He sounded really humble and grateful. Sang the praises of BA, confirmed he has been working with Tony Robbins for months, and called Tom his personal friend and the greatest QB in the world about 10 or more times.

    Joe,
why would you not keep Godwin in a cast until the day of the game ?
Why let him risk injury to the finger if he trips and falls during practice.
We know he can catch, perhaps all he needs is the morning of the game to test it out.

BA said he wont know until friday if godwin can catch the ball….gotta wait until then….

    GO BUCS!!!!

Thanks Joe………..Disregard my question on the earlier thread about whether or not you get to see any of the practice.

Once you dig it out of moderation that is.

Wouldn’t someone with the Bucs like to see if his finger is healed enough that he can catch the ball and then build the gameplan accordingly?

Better to find out five days out in practice than in the third quarter.

i think the kid we released wore #15…

    GO BUCS!!!

It’s clear AB came into this in awesome shape. He is READY. He will be able to get open.

So how do the Saints defend us. First if I’m the Bucs I start planting about the miraculous healing of CG14. Even if he can’t touch a ball promote the fact that he is ready to go off against the Saints.

And so how do the Saints play us? Marshon Lattimore lives in ME13’s head. ME will probably see some single coverage. CG14 will be an excellent decoy until he isn’t. Literally even if he can’t catch the ball the Saints will account for him if he runs routes. He’s still a valuable decoy.

Which leaves AB. Does he draw the double teams?

Safety, LB’s need to be well aware of Gronk. The Bucs present some challenges to the Saints.

  13. stpetebucsfan Says:

BTW CG14 will bring more than just decoy ability…he’s a great blocker.

AB81 (the best value (talent-for-money) in the history of the NFL……

  15. SOEbuc Says:

Lmao. Totally forgot Brate was 84. I wanted AB to rock it for Joey before I remember it was Brates. 81

  16. SOEbuc Says:

No Chris pressure to play this week with AB and healthy Evans this week. Another week of rest for a healthy WR#1 WR#2 WR#3 down the stretch to the playoffs.

  17. Owlykat Says:

With Gronk, Antonio Brown, and Evans, Lattimore cannot cover them all and the Saints are not as good on turf as they are in their stadium. We stand a good chance to win this game and we don’t have to worry about partial refs helping the Saints at our stadium. They are a dirty team and the Bucs need to be reminded not to be retaliating and drawing penalties. Just alert the refs to watch for it. We are good enough to take them this time!

  18. buxszntkt Says:

I hear AB is going to wear # 69

  19. buxszntkt Says:

    or 68 ?

  20. Beeej Says:

Would love to have a photo of Evans, Godwin and Brown lining up in a trips formation

  21. Elita Vita Says:

Yes, looks like Antonio Brown will be rocking the #81 on Sunday evening!
