“This Guy Is A Star”
October 18th, 2020Bucs fans aching for team respect and due recognition for Lavonte David must have loved what they saw on television after Tampa Bay humiliated the Packers today.
During the famed FOX postgame show, Hall of Fame defensive end turned broadcaster Michael Strahan served up a brief segment on Lavonte David, breaking down three of his plays on Sunday and calmly saying, “This guy is a star.”
And Strahan went on to say what so many Bucs fans have been saying, that if David got the exposure he’d be a household name.
Finally, at 30 years old with well over 1,000 tackles since the Bucs made him a second-round pick in 2012, Lavonte David is being gushed upon like one of the true greats of the game.
David, who had just one sack last year, had 1 1/2 sacks today on blitzes, a couple of tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and he was flying around, as usual.
Joe will say David is having his best season since he was a beast with defensive coordinator Mike Smith in 2016, when the Bucs led the NFL in third-down defense and David had four forced fumbles, five sacks and an interception.
The consistency and speed has really been there for David this season. Joe is impressed. The nation is impressed.

This defense balled out tonight. Every unit showed up. What a game. No complaints tonight.

I think he broke the ribs of running back on one play
He came out of nowhere and blasted the guy.

And Ndog is a truly great douche bag.
I can’t wait to hear his excuses for us winning without his boyfriend, JW.

Well deserved

Finally. FINALLY! The nation saw what we all know. Lavonte is criminally underrated. Reminds me of Gruber. Consistent, outstanding play on teams that nobody saw. Until now. Welcome to the limelight Mr. David, you certainly deserve it.

All I want to know is ………..where is Ndog?

The dude has been a stud from the word go. He just goes out and leads by example and you don’t have to worry about him doing dumb $h_t off the field. It will be nice to see him play in some meaningful post season games and hopefully a championship at some point. He’ll be in the ring of honor and the hall of fame once his career is over. I just hope they make sure he never plays for another team, a true Buc GREAT!

Finally. Lvd getting some love. Keep it coming. They gotta lot of making up to do cause this guy has bin a star for a long time. Just unfortunately he has played on one of the most embarrassing defenses ever lol

Ndog is crying tears made of Elton John songs.
What he’s hoping for is a bucs loss next week so he can push his narrative. It’s gotta be hard for him to type buried in JW’s jock strap.

The exposure for David (FINALLY) kinda gets me verklempt tbh 🙏
October 18th, 2020 at 10:38 pm
@ joe
Go back and look at the year lvd had under schiano when he had about 5 ints and 7 sacks. Dont forget about that year
October 18th, 2020 at 10:38 pm
He had those stats with Shiano … Not sure if Mike Smith was coordinator then but it was during that time
October 18th, 2020 at 10:39 pm
I think Lavonte David just needs a kind quarterback to lay down and give him some sacks, maybe throw the ball to him on purpose too.

As a long time Bucs fan, this is one of the most memorable games, I have had the pleasure to watch. In some ways this was a more thorough whipping than
our Superbowl victory. Love the way LVD plays the game. IT seems Rogers picked himself off the ground more than he often does in an entire season.
Great work D!

What a game! I can’t lie as a fan for years I kept waiting for Rodgers to mount a come back because that’s what we do (let em off the hook) in my Dennis Green voice but this is a new team and that didn’t happen.
Stackem! Keep building from this we know what we’re capable of.

It is good to see LVD get some love from his peers like M Strahan. His play now is more reminiscent of when he played in G Schiano,s defense. Great to see for a good guy that has been through the ups and mostly downs of playing for Buccaneers. It is good to see the Bucs be relevant again in the NFL. The entire league has officially been put on notice. Seismic shift in power of the NFC. The Bucs are not the SAME OL SAME OL, but a legitimate Super Bowl Contender. Who knows, it is a long season, but they are a J Dean drop of int, or a blown call on S Barrett away from 5-1. Can’t want for D Brees to step on the turf in Tampa, it will not go well for the Saints. Again as I said the only team to beat the Bucs has been the Bucs. GO BUCS!!!!!
October 19th, 2020 at 8:35 am
This reminds me of the way Schiano used LVD. Bucs haven’t maximized his talents since . It’s good to see Bowles “Unleash “ him
October 19th, 2020 at 10:04 am
It looks like one of the greatest linebackers and class act human beings period will get his wish: participating in a genuine playoff game. Get it done, Bucs! You guys played almost perfect yesterday. How about a perfect game? You have the talent so do it!

A little bit off topic, but….have you guys notice the change in our defense since “soft McCoy was let go?…🤔
