“That’s When You Become F’ing Awesome”
October 29th, 2020Joe likes to joke that middle-aged Bucs quarterback Tom Brady came to Florida to find the fountain of youth in his quest to play until he is 45.
It’s an old, almost tired joke. But one former Bucs quarterback who actually was an offensive assistant with Brady during his Belicheat days actually believes Bucco Bruce Arians has found that fountain for Brady.
Chris Simms took to his podcast, “Unbuttoned,” and praised park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting Brady for playing his best football in years.
Simms directly credits Arians.
“Tom Brady threw the ball phenomenal” against the Raiders, Simms said. “I can see why Chris Godwin had a broken finger. [Brady] threw a laser. I mean a laser.
“Brady is throwing it as confidently and as good as I have seen him throw it — I’m telling ‘ya — in a few years. It’s that good.”
And Simns went into great detail why he believes Arians has Brady relaxed.
It is a combination of scheme, Simms said, of one-on-one matchups for his talented receivers and the Bucs going to max-protection, which appears to give Brady confidence to throw deep and not get drilled.
Simms emphasized Brady is “LOCKED in!” and foot-rubbing, car-littering Rob Gronkowski has shown big-time improvement.
“Uh oh, Gronk may not be good, he might be back,” Simms said he thought to himself watching Gronk tear up the Packers and Raiders. “He may not be peak-Gronk but he may be Gronk in the last couple of years with the Patriots.”
In fact, Simms said when the Bucs offense gets all its receivers healthy, it may be the most dangerous in the NFL at playing either smashmouth football or run-and-gun.
“When you have a scheme that can screw people over, and when you have players [in that scheme] who can win one-on-one matchups, that’s when you become f’ing awesome,” Simms said. “That’s like Kansas City. … That’s when you become a deadly combination.”
Simms also had takes on the defense. Joe will offer those excerpts tomorrow.

Chris Simms is one of the worst sports journalists / commentators on the media……………..he’s worse than Tony Dungy on Sunday night football.

Simms is a good analyst for the most part, didn’t agree with his take on Brady in the off season or Week 1 but he usually breaks down film really well and is entertaining.

????????
Is it a personality personal thing?
If not then you sound extremely clueless and ignorant when it comes to football. Chris Sims has been outstanding as an analyst

Phil Simms was a much better analyst (and QB for that matter) than Chris Simms, who’s apple fell from the tree and rolled down hill fast.
