Not Since 2011

October 4th, 2020

It really is a new day in Tampa Bay.

The Bucs are 3-1. College kids from Lakeland to Largo were in elementary school the last time that happened.

The year was 2011, and no, the Bucs weren’t 4-0 in any season since then.

This feels like such a dream come true. Joe is loving every second of it. With three more home wins Joe even gets to retire the Den of Depression nickname!

The culture change we’re experiencing — hopefully it lasts — is just the kind of thing general manager Jason Licht is referring to when he says he expects the Tom Brady effect to last after Brady is gone one day.

Bucs fans deserve this. We’ve suffered far too long.

The old Bucs would have found a way to lose this game. Brady and friends found a way to recapture the lead in a hurry, and engineer a fourth-quarter comeback when momentum temporarily swung the wrong way.

No, the Bucs haven’t beaten a good team yet, but it doesn’t matter. The Bucs look like a different team — in a good way.

As Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher said after the game, the Bucs are a potent team that’s only going to get better.

So great To see the winston losers laughing and hoping for bucs win

    Hahaha

Defense sucked …brady threw pick six…missed field goal

But we have confidence and a winner a qb. He took control. 5 tds

I will say they need to play 2 halves though to beat a good team

    Suck it you nutsmugglers

  2. Casual Observer Says:

Nice comeback win today. Down by a bunch of points and Brady kept his cool. Good lesson for the rest of the season. D can/will be fixed.

  3. Sport Says:

Character game. The Bucs showed they can reach deep when they need it.

    Culture change indeed.

    Go Bucs!

    In BA I Trust!

  4. FairMinded Says:

Tears of joy 😭😭😭. Been too long!!!!!

  5. Miller5252 Says:

100% accurate quote Joe. The old Bucs would have found a way to lose this game. Especially against a rookie qb or a backup qb. Wasn’t their best game on D but the offense actually played in the 3rd quarter and got back into it. Big atta boy to Suh changing the momentum right before the half. Nice to see them go down field and fight back.

  6. Patrickbucs Says:

Huge comeback win all the injuries, needed that with Chicago and the short week. Great game Brady!

  7. tampabaybucfan Says:

I can’t help but believe that there is no way we win this game if JW is the QB…..

Hat’s off to Brady for keeping his cool after the Pick 6…..

Herbert is very good……beat our secondary when pressured…..

Rojo is just fine……and Vaughn did well in his debut……

  8. Buc4ever Says:

Jameis would fumbled three times and thrown three INTs. Two of the INTs would have been as a result of a typical Jameis brain fart resulting in pick six’s.

  9. Frankinthe813 Says:

Good teams find a way to win on their bad days.. great win

  10. Bird Says:

    Bucs anthem

You did not accept my bucket of poop before

Any chance you want to suck a fart straight from my arse

Noodle arm thru 5tds. And down the field.
Leftwich better not throw A short out pattern again Spread em out and let brady work his magic.
Brady showed the goat status again

    Ahahahahahhaha
    😂

  11. Buc4ever Says:

No way Bucs with Jameis would have won today

  12. Anonymous Says:

This team almost beat KC…so the Chargers are better than many think. Still…we got visited by the ghost of Rod Jones…twice. That can’t happen very often.

  13. Simeon Says:

Good start, but it’s getting tougher. Bowles is to blame for the close game. Herbert is mobile and was getting the ball away fast and Bowles kept blitzing and getting burned.

  14. mark2001 Says:

Buc4ever. And don’t forget…we had an injured Evans, Godwin out, and Miller just back, plus an injured OJ and Fournette out. Brady was masterful. Even after the second touchdown, I was saying to myself, how in the world can we muster the firepower we need to win this game with the injuries we have. But we did, obviously. And in addition to that, the refs calls were terrible.

  15. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Simeon… Whaaaaaat!! They weren’t blitzing enough!! When they finally started blitzing heavy is when they started to win!! They were getting out run in cloud coverage all day!! Devin white as much as I like him is a absolute liability in coverage and Winfield looked like a rookie today…. But those are both fixable… They rushed with only 4 most the game…. They got beat on a few blitzes but for the most part they got beat in zones!! They are not a good zone team!! They need to be man to man and blitzing 75% of the time!!!

  16. james west Says:

herbert ain’t no joke, the chargers have been in every game, and damn near beat the champs, loosing 23 – 20 to the chiefs, so anyone thinking tampa has not played any team yet worth a damn is mistaken, i think we will beat the bears, and go into the packer game 4-1 that’s when it get’s interesting, man i am stoked, hell to the hell yes, go bucs

  17. T in Orlando Says:

I want to be optimistic, but any stat that references the 2011 season must be taken with a grain of salt. The Bucs started 4-2 that season, before going 0-10 the last ten games, finishing 4-12 I don’t think this team will do that, but just goes to show a 3-1 record is nothing to be too excited about.

If the team guess 3-1 every 4 games (like 2002) then I’ll be excited about a 3-1 stretch.

Keep up the great work Joes and Ira!

  18. orlbucfan Says:

Looking for the old fart Bucs fans like myself on here. No luck, just a lot of hot air BS but hat else is new? YAHOO, mighty Bucs defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Come on Ndog, show up and tell us how TB12 is the luckiest athlete in the history of the world! Hmmmmm, Jay Miss would have been good for at least 3 pics today. No chance he wins that game. Gimpy Evans, no Godwin, Howard injured!
Hey Ndog, no EXCUSES BABY! TB12 brought em back!!!!!!!! (Realist exclamation points)

  20. Cobraboy Says:

Justin Herbert is the real deal.

  21. stpetebucsfan Says:

3-1 a .750 win %…FACTUALLY the first quarter of the season has been a success!

Keep up that pace and it’s not only the playoffs but a very high seed at 12-4.

Artistically the Bucs have also been successful. The defense is loaded and the offense while still a work in progress is improving weekly.

In years past there were two wins…including today’s that would have been losses. We would be sitting at 1-3. Man 3-1 is soooo much better.

We’ve shown we can be effective without our A game and with the A game we’re scary good.

  22. Buczilla Says:

    Hell yes! I agree.
