A member of the Bucs defense shares his pain
There is no doubt the Bucs are approaching a crossroads of this season.
If they don’t beat the undefeated Packers on Sunday, then it’s a 3-3 record and a kick in the gut for the legions of Bucs fans who thought/think they’re watching an 11-win Bucs team.
Then it’s off to Las Vegas, where Jon Gruden is now on a bye week and wants nothing more than to shove a Raiders “W” where Team Glazer might not like it. Just imagine how grudge-holding Chucky is working himself and his staff into a froth after upsetting the Chiefs and now awaiting the Bucs.
The point is these are two massive and difficult games ahead of the Bucs, and what makes that especially interesting is the team is coming off a heart-crushing loss in Chicago. Sometimes a loss like that is a positive turning point; sometimes it triggers a nosedive.
Joe asked DE Will Gholston today about the team’s attitude after Thursday’s rough loss. Gholston made the answer a bit personal.
“We chalked it up. We watched the film. We changed it, we corrected it,” Gholston said. “I think that we will be ok moving forward, not making the same mistakes. And it was a tough one. It hurt. It hurt me, for sure.”
Joe is intrigued that Gholston referenced his pain from the loss. He’s an eighth-year Buccaneer, which means he’s endured a troubling number of tough and soul-crushing defeats. He also later referenced the team’s “great expectations” and a need to move on.
Joe thinks that will be the Bucs’ greatest challenge Sunday, to not let the Chicago failures on both sides of the ball in the fourth quarter carry over.
Play a complete 60 minutes against Green Bay for a change. And win or lose, don’t set up any Bucs fan to think or type #ItsABucsLife.

This team never believes in itself. That stars with the coaching. No excuses. This coaching staff has a top shelf roster and if the offense keeps sputtering and failing in games its all on the offensive coach.
I initially said Green Bay would beat the brakes off of us this weekend, but the Bucs do usually find a way to play to their competition. They always sh!t the bed in the end regardless but at least it should be high scoring. If not I’m sure it will be everyone but the OC’s as usual.

Who expect the Buccaneers to win versus the Packers? Many of you hope the Bucs will win just as I hope the Buccaneers will lose. Buccaneers had the ball in the final minute and seconds against the Bears and the Buccaneers could not get in field goal range. That is not a mistake; it is ability or the lack there of. Supposedly, the Buccaneers had all the talent… just needed a quarterback. The Buccaneers have not been impressive.

JameisAlmighty … Self-flagellation takes a toll after awhile. I’d say ‘Move on because Jameis is a Saint’ but we both know that’s not true, don’t we.
BucEmUp … No question in my mind that poor performance on the field usually starts with poor preparation & poor coaching, but players bear a lot of the responsibility too. False starts, off-sides, illegal formations, delay of game … coaches don’t ‘teach’ players to do those things and they’re usually pretty easy calls. Some others though, like holding, roughing the passer & pass interference are very often ‘judgment calls’ on the part of the officials. Teams with ‘a reputation’ seem to get hardest when it comes to those. And yes the Bucs have ‘a reputation’ among the officials it seems. In those cases, it’s up to coaching to ‘fix it’.

the next two games are winnable, this is where veterans like Brady, Gronk, JPP and Suh show some leadership and get these units playing like we all know they can. Yeah I know, easier said than done.

You cannot prove that you are a better team by beating the Chargers, Broncos, and Panthers. All three teams gave the Bucs fits. The Panthers are a team than the team the Bucs played the first time around. Better record; not better team.

There is no reason we cant compete with Green Bay. The only way we dont play a close game here is if we beat ourselfs…….. Which Ill admitt seems very likely.
We are all waiting for this team to step up and become a contender. If its gonna come this year its gotta come quick. We play a lot of good teams over the next month and a half.
If the Bucs are gonna proove to us that they are real threat to do some damage in the playoffs they are gonna have to beat some of these good teams. No better place to start then this Sunday…….We absolutely do got the talent to beat them. But we gotta bring our A game. No less.

Long season, keep Toms jersey clean, pound the rock, add discipline.This team is a garbage call on Shaq Barrett away from 4-1. They are light years better than last year. The Defense did not arrive last year until 11 weeks into the season. Again this team will continue to get better. They no longer “choose to suck” in the Redzone. thankyou T Monkin for that statement. ROJO has stepped up his game with back to back 100 yard games. How long has it been since that could be said. And they even have a consistant kicker for the first time in a long time. So to say they are not better is just not honest. The Defence did not arrive last year until week 11. Now they have a legitimate Defense. They will continue to get better. We have endured many soul crushing defeats since our only Superbowl win. It hurts us too Will Gholston. I’ve read this book before and it has a terrible ending. It is up to the coaches and players to buck the trend and write their own story. We have the talent and the coaches have coached well in the past, so Green Bay is very beatable. I look forward to a happy ending on Sunday. 😜

From what I have heard Green Bay features passing weapons from the TE and RB positions……Devonta Adams Im not even worried about until Carlton Davis gives me a reason to be.
So I dont know much about Green Bay but RB and TE tells me we might need our LBs to have a big day. Devin White has gotta make an impact. This sounds like a matchup where we need him.
And no Devin I didnt buy into the hype the first few games. I saw Kamara twice and McCaffereny exploit you in the redzone to start the year. If you cant hold your own against the big boys then your totally overrated……Your rookie learning curve is long gone. Step up dude!!
