This just seems very unlikely.
Joe understands a couple of years ago when malcontent running back Le’Veon Bell decided to go jet skiing off South Beach rather than play under the franchise tag with the Steelers, many Bucs fans thought the Bucs should swing a deal with the Steelers to sign Bell.
Well, it’s currently a different time and certainly a different place in Tampa Bay.
Last night, the Jets — the poster child for dysfunction in the NFL — released Bell. If he clears waivers — likely due to his pricy contract — he is a free man to sign with anyone.
The Jets released Bell, in part, because he was such a pain in the posterior.
Joe knows some Bucs fans will want Bell. That just seems unlikely.
First, it seems (from Joe’s eyes) Ronald Jones may have just turned the corner and is one of the better running backs in the NFL. RoJo is No. 8 in the NFL in rushing at 359 yards. Anyone who predicted that has a cracked crystal ball. But good for RoJo!
And currently backing up RoJo is no slouch himself, Leonard Fournette. And neither Fournette nor RoJo is a cancer like Bell.
Besides, the Bucs only have a little over $2 million in salary cap space and must keep that stashed away in case there are more injuries.
So believe it or not, Joe is actually typing the following: There is no room at the inn for Bell who, if he is motivated, is one of the better all-around backs in the league (running, catching and blocking).

I think they could sign him for $1 or perhaps the league minimum, and the Jets would have to pay the rest of his 6 mill, and as long as he is cut before next season the new team could avoid his 2021 injury guarantee
I think it’s worth it.

He’d sign for sure if Famous Jameis was not shunned by Jason Idiot Licht. Why play for Terrible Tom and this cast of coaches. Awful Arians is better at being fat than he is coaching. Sucker Licht has done enough to make this team irrelevant for 2 decades.

Who oh btw is 23yrs old. The same age as our rookie RB K.Vaughn.
He also happens to running his heart out! Joe – you have the All 22 film, where’s the article about how he was dead to rights in the backfield multiple times and ghosted Roquan with a spin move!!! He is not afraid to mix it up this year.

Cut Shady Mccoy and sign Bell. Bell is excellent at catching the ball out of the backfield and that is what Brady needs.
