Broken Leg For Vita Vea
October 9th, 2020Bad, bad news for Vita Vea was made official this morning by Bucco Bruce Arians.
Vea broke his leg last night against the Bears. Arians said it likely will end Vea’s season.
“I hate it for him. He was having such a great year,” Arians said. “I don’t think there was a better nose tackle out there.”

That sucks BIG-TIME!
Feel bad for the kid, seems like a good dude.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:00 am
I think a leg is better than an ankle. Easy for me to say.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:01 am
Yup, called that last night.
Could this game have sucked any more? Unlikely.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:03 am
Last night just keeps getting worse!! It’s been a few years since a loss pissed me off this much.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:04 am
There goes the Bucs’ Super Bowl chances.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:05 am

October 9th, 2020 at 11:40 am
That was the most Bucs game ever last night. On national TV too of course.
Horrible penalties all over, debilitating injuries, and an L.
Welcome to TB Tom. God Bless, if you think you can fix what we’ve been living w for 15 years.

I blame the refs for Vea’s injury. Truly. I also blame them for the first touchdown the bears had. Don’t get me wrong the team needs to play much, much better than they did last night. However, those two bad calls on Shaq cost the Bucs in big ways.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:49 am
Remember when everyone said this guy was overrated rt after he got drafted early in the season???? Now maybe his true value will be appreciated by more people
October 9th, 2020 at 12:15 pm
This has nothing to do with being a bandwagon fan. You’re clearly ignorant on how significant this loss is. Vita Vea is an elite NT. The next man up mentality is fine for role players but when it comes to special players you simply can’t replace them.
You’d never say next man up if Brady went down. You would know the season is over. This loss is almost as significant.
October 9th, 2020 at 12:26 pm
Devin White finally made a play last night and he broke Vita’s ankle.
October 9th, 2020 at 12:30 pm
Argh. Feel lousy for him. And the Bucs. Step up!
October 9th, 2020 at 12:30 pm
I said on this website 2 yrs ago. Vita needs to play at a light weight. Not much lighter but a 25 to 35 pd wt loss would do him good. He is starting to be known as..Mr Injury prone. Get well Vita.
October 9th, 2020 at 12:49 pm
Nebraska rook you up !!!
October 9th, 2020 at 12:50 pm
Well, that’ll hurt in more ways than one.
October 9th, 2020 at 1:14 pm
Agree with 813 Bucboi 💯
October 9th, 2020 at 1:21 pm
#Blametherefs
He never should have been on the field for that drive. The game should have been over.
October 9th, 2020 at 1:29 pm
Always a risk when you are as big as Vea is. Hope he can recover fully and play next season.
October 9th, 2020 at 1:30 pm
Mike Johnson…
Are you stupid or something? His leg got broken due to no fault of his own. It was a bang bang play that they never should have been on the field for in the first place, and Devin White unintentionally crushed his leg while making a gang tackle with Vea.
Vea could have weighed 200 or less pounds and his leg would still be crushed right now. Think before you speak dumb dumb.
October 9th, 2020 at 1:49 pm
Everyone is saying they feel bad for Vea? Hell don’t feel bad for him he gets to hang in his crib and STILL get paid! Feel bad for us LONG suffering (and now we can suffer some more) Buc fans!
October 9th, 2020 at 1:52 pm
I’m glads it’s not a ligament tear or something that would haunt him in future years.
October 9th, 2020 at 2:21 pm
Refs didn’t help but if we didn’t give up that easy first down a few plays earlier by having corners play off the receiver, defense gets off the field and Vita doesn’t get hurt.
Calamity of errors contributed to this avoidable injury. Grrrrrr
October 9th, 2020 at 2:22 pm
Terrible news, but not unexpected watching the replay of that play. Good luck with the rehab big fella.
October 9th, 2020 at 2:31 pm
Dammit. Leg COVID.
October 9th, 2020 at 2:55 pm
Sad day looks like a top 15 draft pick in 2021 draft.
October 9th, 2020 at 3:51 pm
If they Bucs finish 8-8 it will be a good season. Way too many serious injuries without exceptional backup talent.
October 9th, 2020 at 4:02 pm
@clod –
Same. I was really annoyed by that loss last night. Just a big kick in the nuts.
October 9th, 2020 at 4:44 pm
spin it as you like…
that’s a “broken ankle” on a man the size of 2 men…
October 9th, 2020 at 6:15 pm
Damn at least it wasn’t ligaments not that a broken leg on a 350lb guy is bad enough. Sad this defense mostly good hope this doesn’t kill them down the stretch. Go Bucs
October 9th, 2020 at 10:15 pm
Wow.
I was thinking a couple weeks with a sprained ankle. This sucks. He is an absolute beast in the middle and has probably become the best DT outside of Aaron Donald the way he started this year. Definitely the best nose tackle
October 9th, 2020 at 10:55 pm
Calm down everyone it is a huge loss but lots of teams are losing lots of players and more to come hopefully this is it for us super bowl admirations still live.
October 9th, 2020 at 11:09 pm
Damn. Why couldn’t it have been lazy ass Smith.
October 10th, 2020 at 1:10 am
Huge loss, Roches is gonna have to play his butt off.
October 10th, 2020 at 6:51 am
This season is starting to suck.
