A Real Threat
October 19th, 2020On national television Sunday afternoon, the Bucs told the football world they are nobody to screw with, especially on their home turf.
After a debacle in Chicago where they basically gave away a win, the Bucs had one of the most complete, clean games you will ever see from an NFL team. And it just so happened it came against one of the best teams in the NFL, guided by a Hall of Fame quarterback having one of his best seasons.
Well, he was until yesterday.
The way the Bucs pounded Aaron Rodgers and the Packers into the turf of the Den of Depression, the Bucs told the rest of the NFL they are not to be taken lightly.
In fact, the Bucs made such a statement yesterday, long-time NFL scribe Clark Judge believes they are a legit contender to play for the Super Bowl in their home stadium in February.
Tampa Bay is a Super Bowl threat. With Tom Brady at quarterback, you knew the Bucs would be there. But they officially arrived with Sunday’s demolition of previously unbeaten Green Bay, scoring 38 unanswered points on an opponent considered the NFC team to beat. The good news for Tampa Bay: Brady looks like Tom Terrific again … Gronk is back … and the Bucs’ defense just flexed its muscle, harassing and hammering Aaron Rodgers into atypical mistakes, including his first two interceptions of the season. Now the bad news: Super Bowl LV is played in Tampa, right? So what do we know about the previous 54? Uh-huh, the game was never played in the stadium of the host team. Can Brady break the trend? I learned long ago never to underestimate him.
Joe will have more on this later but Joe cannot remember, short of the glorious Super Bowl win over the Raiders, a home game that left his mouth agape like dominating Bucs of yesterday. It was breathtaking and almost left Joe speechless.
Or maybe it was when Joe almost lost his voice from hyperventilating and hollering at the TV when Tyler Johnson caught a touchdown pass?
Not only was it one of the most impressive wins in franchise history for the Bucs, it was one of the cleanest games a team has played in the past 60 years in the NFL.

most signature win since the game in 1997 when the bucs whooped the 49ers azz and took out both jerry rice and steve young with injuries ???

I’m feeling greedy. I want a big road win next week.
October 19th, 2020 at 12:14 am
hey joe:
there is another website that posts the best players of the game and the most disappointing players of the game every week after the game…
after an incredible signature win…one to remember for a long time…one for the books…
they actually had the nerve on the very day of the game to only post the most disappointing players of the game…
no best players of the game at all…only the most disappointing…
and on a day when the bucs as a whole basically disappointed no one that’s a bucs fan…
shame on them…
how bad is that…
that’s just not cool

I wonder what that has bag Beckles is gonna say now
October 19th, 2020 at 12:32 am
We picked up a solid NT from the Jets that knows Todd’s defense already. Another savy move that are not your typical Bucs play. Its so nice to see us acting like a winning franchise

@ fernando
Stop being butt hurt. Everything beckels said last week was true. The coaches and players said the same thing. The way the bucs played against the bears and even during their wins was not good enough to win a superbowl. Did you not see Brady cuss out his team? Trust me, Brady last week was saying the same thing as Beckles to his teammates. Even after this dominate performance, Brady touched on the mistakes his team committed against the packers. Stop being excited because you simply won a regular season game and understand the goal is to win the Lombardi. Beckles was correct last week. The performance the bucs had put on film was not good enough. Even after this dominate victory, Brady said it was not good enough.

This win reminds me of the beat down the Bucs put on Ron Jaworski and the Eagles in the Bucs first playoff game ever in 1979 at the old Sombrero. The Eagles were a solid favorite and the Bucs dominated them, played the best game in their short 4 year history at the time. GO BUCS!!!!

Time to go kick the “spit” outta the LV Raiders.

I never give video assignments, but go on YouTube and search for ‘A Packers Fan Live Reaction to the Packers vs Buccaneers’ – it’s quite entertaining.

R Munch lol lol thx for the that. Hilarious. GO BUCS!!!!

Looking at Next Gen stats, the Bucs had 4 of the top 10 fastest sacks today.
People said Rodgers was rattled and holding the ball too long, but that stat seems to show otherwise.

Dianna Russini doesn’t agree at all with Clark Judge.

Outstanding effort by the Defense. Mistake free effort by the offense. End of the 1,000 yard per season streak for Mike Evans?
October 19th, 2020 at 4:55 am
Nice work today, I was convinced after last week that the season was about to unravel, same old Bucs…
Let’s go beat the Raiders and show that we’re for real.

Adam from NY- I was at that game, great memory!

August 1976
Yes, that was a great victory.

Divisional round against San Francisco was the last home performance I can remember being this dominant – and may have been the most dominant the Bucs have ever looked.
We never needed Tom to be 2007 Tom, that wasn’t what we were going to get. What we needed was a change of culture, and to get in the face of you candy asses when necessary. We should expect preparation and perfection every week. Just think when (if?) Evans gets 100% healthy and we have a healthy Fournette to go with Rojo. Seattle has a disgustingly bad defense, I personally can’t take Chicago seriously to go sayyy 14-2, let’s take this same energy with each game and go after home field for the playoffs
October 19th, 2020 at 7:39 am
This was a truly complete game. Offense, defense and kicking! Been a long time coming. Hope it continues. We might have made playoffs last year with this kicker. Need all three phases to be real contenders. Brady finally looked sharp and Rojo fought like he’ll for every yard.

great job coaching staff…
GO BUCS!!!!!

R Munch….that was freakin’ hysterical!! 😂😂 Great find!
October 19th, 2020 at 10:23 am
The Raiders will be a good test. Gruden is excellent at making adjustments to opposing defenses.

Rod Munch:
Great find! Great laugh. F’n Packer fans

I was at that Bucs-Eagles game in 1979, too. Tampa Stadium was packed to the rafters, and the defense led by all-universe Leroy Selmon was tremendous. The weather was chamber of commerce perfect. Then came the NFC Championship and Bucs lost to the LA Rams by 3 field goals. Rams couldn’t score a TD on that defense. The offense led by Doug Williams couldn’t score at all. 🙁 This defense is looking more and more like that one and the SB one. Terrific! Perfect game coming, Bucs?

Adam from New York…. You are referring to pewter report and they do that column every week dummy!! Just because they played good today doesn’t mean nobody played bad or off their game!! I respect the hell out of them for holding this team to the standards the rest of the NFL is!! This team needs to be talked about right now among the best in the league!! And that doesn’t happen without ALWAYS trying to get better!! There is always something that could have been better!! I commend pewter report for that and they will post the 5 Best players probably today!! They just are taking awhile because I’m sure they have a lot to say about how good those 5 players were and how hard it was to pick just 5!!! …. This team has been held to low standards for a long time.. “oh they won a game let’s pat them in the back door a month because they did what they’re supposed to do!!!” … No dude, that’s not how champions are made!! You are looking this sight, going off emotion and glitz and glamour!! This is football and next week is right around the corner where they can look just like they did in Chicago!! They need to stay focused and the fans need to hold them to the same standards as the rest of the NFL!! Because this team is in that discussion of who’s the best!!!
October 19th, 2020 at 1:27 pm
Joe, you keep saying ” gave away that game in Chicago ” I would argue gave/taken away…..
October 19th, 2020 at 1:36 pm
Heading to Vegas this week, had tickets to the game until……. Ahhh well I am sure that I can find some other stuff to do…
October 19th, 2020 at 3:34 pm
@ Sorryjackchuckiesback
lol at you…
omg what a dumb response from a bonafide shmuck…
even though you are semi illiterate, you backed up my point ya buffoon…
when the bucs play arguably one of the 10 best games they ever have in their team history, you do not post only the most disappointing players list…you don’t dangle it out there for a day by itself in the wake of a near perfect game across the board…you put it up along with the best players of the game as well…
almost seemed passive aggressive by said writer after such a stellar performance…
ok crawl back under your rock…
nuff said…
geez
