Up Next, The Bungling Broncos
September 26th, 2020Last year the Broncos limped their way to just 17 1/2 points scored per game.
And now their starting quarterback is out, as is their top running back and most prominent receiver.
Denver sits at 0-2 with a laundry list of other injuries and issues, and the Broncos defense, one that scared people last season has been manhandled through their first two games on the ground and through the air by the Titans and Steelers.
Denver’s defense has forced a couple of turnovers and tightened up in the red zone to keep those losses close. But if the Titans didn’t miss three field goals, it would have been a very different opening day in Denver.
Our beloved Buccaneers get after the quarterback well, and tomorrow it’s Jeff Driskel, who has a 1-7 career record as a starter and ate six sacks last week in fill-in duty. He’ll run for his life reasonably well, but he’s not what you’d call a dual-threat QB.
Joe sees this Denver team like it’s a boxer on the ropes after just taking two uppercuts and a low blow the referee didn’t call.
There’s just no way the Bucs should lose this game if they’re on the track Bucs fans and coaches think they’re on. They’ve started fast in both games this season and that should continue Sunday.
There’s division at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters, but the Joe typing here fully expects the Bucs to simply overwhelm Denver on both sides of the ball en route to a commanding victory.
The NFL world will be looking at one of the massive upsets of the season if Driskel and the broken down Broncos beats — or even hangs with — Brady.

It would be fun to watch an a$$ kicking.
But history vs. teams the Bucs are supposed to beat badly—especially with aback-up QB—says a tight game with many mistakes.
Maybe even a trap.
September 26th, 2020 at 2:23 pm
This team is different then other bucs teams. Unless the Denver Secondary suddenly turns into the Legion of Boom (it won’t) there isn’t a way we lose this game. The bucs defense by every metric has been the best part of this team so far.
Even if the offense completely sputters the defense against Jeff Driskel should get us a W here.

I’ll just wait and watch the game. Hate to say this butt..we are well know to struggle and even lose games we are suppose to win. Our record speaks for itself.
I’m all in for the win. But a sure thing? its never a sure thing for our Bucs. You guys ought to know that.

Turnovers, penalties & special teams…..
Get them under control and we win with a better & healthier offense & defense.
September 26th, 2020 at 3:15 pm
The defense is hungry and they will be hunting. If the offense can just stay on their upward trajectory this one won’t be close.
September 26th, 2020 at 3:18 pm
Mike Johnson
I couldn’t agree more! You and I are in the same boat.
September 26th, 2020 at 3:25 pm
Last I looked, Denver’s field is still 1 mile above sea level. Noticed something when I was there last year: hard to exercise & breathe at the same time. Denver may not have the offensive firepower that we do, but that altitude IMO represents a pretty good 12th man. Always cautious about counting the chickens before the rooster gets through doing his thing.

Must must win. Big too.

The Bucs make rookie quarterbacks look like hall of famers.
Go Bucs

What we need to do is try to get Kyle Trask in the third next yr. If he keeps playing the way he did today then he will be a first rounder. Projected rds. 2 to 4 last yr
September 26th, 2020 at 4:06 pm
For those talking about altitude effects it is real. I live at 6,700 ft. When I go down to Fla. each yr I feel like Superman for the first few days because I am so much more oxygenated.
September 26th, 2020 at 5:30 pm
I agree Steve, I agree.
September 26th, 2020 at 5:57 pm
yep the bucs should, and are expected to put the smack down on denver, if they for some stupid reason, lose or even let them keep it close, it’s going to be a bad look for the bucs

“Mark Kobe Fakers words
With Rojo getting his 2 yards and Leftwich playcalling
Offense is going to be lethargic
When is the BA/BL Twins going to turn the old Buc offense to TB12/Pat’s offense?
Maybe after this Denver loss?

Did a ride last summer through the Rocky Mts. Flew in and out of Denver. That high altitude will sap someone not used to it like Floridians. Beautiful country though. Looking forward to listening to the Bucs defense.

😉 Go Bucs
September 26th, 2020 at 6:14 pm
The Broncos two losses both came against 2019 playoff teams and each was by less than a touchdown. The Bucs should win this game, but they should also be careful to take Denver seriously.
September 26th, 2020 at 6:26 pm
I’ve said this many times…..weeks 1-4 are when meaningless upsets can occur. Every year it seems like the Saints give away a game, the Steelers….it happens. There’s not much tape on the Broncos QB, RB, or WRs and we aren’t the most polished bunch, particularly on the road in completely different elevation from what we’re accustomed to.
September 26th, 2020 at 6:33 pm
Bucs’ history against back-up QBs means nothing now, because the current roster is confident and full of talent / leadership.
I expect some ups and downs, play at Mile High isn’t easy, but in the end, the Bucs’ll bring home another double-digit W.
Go Bucs!!!
September 26th, 2020 at 6:46 pm
Joe shouldn’t be taking teams lightly. There’s a good reason for the saying “on any given Sunday
September 26th, 2020 at 6:56 pm
This team ain’t proved squat.
Yet.
There is nothing that shows they can beat the Broncos.
September 26th, 2020 at 7:11 pm
The Bronco’s are at home, and eager to prove they are not a trash team. Remember their season just started too, and they will be looking to turn things around, at our expense.
September 26th, 2020 at 7:13 pm
We will see if the offense shows more growth, and consistency this week. We need consistent play from the O-Line, RB’s early, and the receivers catch the ball. I am hopeful the defensive continues it’s trend of getting sacks, making plays, and forcing turnovers… but I really want them to tighten up their rush defense. They have been leakier than last year, and keep the Broncos young WR’s/TE in front of them.
If they can do those things they will win the ball game.
Side note: Pleased to see shady Cam Jordan was fined for trying to allegedly punch the ball out. Should have been ejected from the game.
September 26th, 2020 at 7:30 pm
I’m with Mike Johnson and 951 on this one. Been a Buc fan too long to say we will beat anybody out of hand.
September 26th, 2020 at 7:45 pm
Still zero excitement from me it’s hard to root for a lying, backstabbing, POS head coach and a spolied selfish QB who has HIS best interest in mind not this teams or city.
September 26th, 2020 at 7:54 pm
If the Bucs lose this one… they do have a habit of making a reserve QB look like the greatest QB on the planet. This is the NFL where anyone can win on any given Sunday. It’s ok for a reporter to be overconfident, but not players.

Our defense continues to stuff the run. We have three capable running backs to work in rotation. Driscoll won’t beat us with his arm. Look for our tight ends and RB’s to get a lot of action in the passing game.
It doesn’t need to be flashy. Grind out an early lead and tee off on Driscoll.
Should be a fun game.

I’m with the other Joe on this one. These kinds of games have given us trouble in the past. If we win handily, I’ll be a true believer. I’ve followed this team for too long and I need to see to believe.
September 27th, 2020 at 9:36 am
I’m with you, Buczilla. Been here too long, have had too many disappointments. Can’t ever say “oh we got this one”.
